Really tough game but I think England were certainly the better of the teams and deserving of their place in the final.

I thought they were mentally very cool and in control. When Aus were pressing in the second half, they took that last chance beautifully which was a stark contrast to Aus who were ahowing desperation.

I’m actually quite emotional.

I’ve been following England women’s for over a decade. When the stadiums were empty and they players weren’t even close to being household names. It used to really frustrate me that people didn’t even know a women’s team existed.

Just been to our local where people of both sexes and all ages, crammed in together to support the Lionesses and cheer the way they do the men.

Australians as a nation can be a little too much all about the winning. It makes them bad losers sometimes, and also bad ungracious winners. Whatever the sport.

A bit of friendly bantz is ok (i'm not in UK most of my friends who aren't English are supporting Australia. There have been some very near the knuckle comments and abuse and i have already blocked one person who i thought was generally ok. It's fine, that's life but it is completely unnecessary.)

There are many wonderful things about this World Cup and they include Australia and New Zealand's excellent hosting, allowing the football to be at its best.

The referees and officials have been excellent. The coaches & teams have been great. I can't really complain about how it has been televised in the UK, with the BBC and ITV sharing the honours.

It's now the lead item on the BBC lunchtime news.

And it's about bloody time.
