Because of the points deduction every game for Reading is like a final.. as in the bottom 3.

Yes, that's what I thought you meant, but wanted to be sure that there was nothing about special about this game.

I sort of support Luton as I used to live near there. They are always so close to being promoted but yet so far.

WhiteHartLane · 19/04/2023 18:31

Thank you, I'm very relieved, back to back relegation would've been really tough to take and could have easily happened had we not got a new owner and huge injection of cash. It was a really great match too, 2 goals, a red card, pitch invasion and a power cut 😂

AndNobbyDancing · 19/04/2023 22:05

Pleased for you WhiteHeart a massive game and a massive result.

I like Haaland, there I've said it.

AndNobbyDancing · 19/04/2023 22:09

And the worst thing about being in the relegation fight is that you can't celebrate great results from other bottom table clubs as they just seal your relegation.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/04/2023 22:10

Back to back relegation is still a very recent memory for this Wolves fan. It sucks. Glad you avoided it!

EddieHoweisMYmanager · 20/04/2023 22:08

Well Manchester Reds have been well and truly shown up tonight aye?

What’s the betting Southgate will continue to pick Maguire for England over other English centre halves who have been consistently performing well for their clubs this season?

EddieHoweisMYmanager · 21/04/2023 12:02

Most likely. But I have to say I’m starting to feel sorry for Maguire, he just can’t do anything right at the moment. He needs to just go somewhere else and have a fresh start.

Not Newcastle though. We don’t need him 😂

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 21/04/2023 20:54

Why do we never do it the easy way?

Oblomov23 · 21/04/2023 21:21

Watching the Arsenal v Southampton game currently. Exciting.

AndNobbyDancing · 21/04/2023 22:20

Heartbreaking Oblomov I know saints did well to hold on in the end but the extra two points would have helped so much.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 21/04/2023 22:20

What a come back. Shame we couldn't get a winner. Still in our hands (just)!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 21/04/2023 22:33

Why do we do this? If we'd played like that at the end, even from the beginning of the second half, we'd have won easily. As I said, we never do it the easy way.

Well, for probably the last time this season;

♫"Top of the league, we're havin' a laugh"♫...

Tarkan · 21/04/2023 22:43

That was a hell of a match. I said to DH that I was glad neither team was mine though as I don't think my heart could have coped with that, it was crazy enough watching as a neutral there.

Great result for the Hammers in the Europa Conference last night, I was so glad to find a pub who was showing it as we don't have many locally with BT Sport as it is and the ones that did were only showing the Man U match.

I'm off to watch Arbroath play at home tomorrow, I think if we win this one we're safe from relegation, although don't quote me on that, we're sitting 8th and playing Cove Rangers who are bottom (10th) so it's an important one to win anyway.

Tarkan · 22/04/2023 15:01

Welcome to Gayfield. Grin

DCL back and we didn't lose but what a boring game of football

OP posts:
Tarkan · 22/04/2023 17:58

All we needed today was a win to be safe. Of course we lost. The team just didn't show up and some appalling ref decisions, one of which led to the away goal.

DuncinToffee · 22/04/2023 21:18

Wrexham back in the football League.

I hope Notts County will be joining them, both teams deserve promotion.

Brefugee · 22/04/2023 21:23

Thrilling for Wrexham. I watched the first half of the Aresenal / Southampton match. Blimey. (but bloody hell that Soton away strip!)

Today we went to watch our Under 23s play our arch rivals' under 23s - they scored within the first minute, but it ended 2 all and 2 of our players got sent off within 3 minutes of each other in the last 10 minutes. Thrilling match, partially in the rain, in front of 850 spectators. We're watching Gladbach against Union Berlin tomorrow evening. Should be ... interesting.

Tarkan · 22/04/2023 21:48

Gutted I missed watching the Wrexham match tonight tbh. I was meant to be home for it while DH went on a works' night out and his night out ended up delayed so I wasn't even home before full time (we might have been drowning some sorrows tbh).

Some good news for a different local team today though, Brechin City won the Highland League today.

Brefugee · 22/04/2023 21:58

oh but also in the Bundesliga great excitement since Mainz beat Bayern 3-1 and Dortmund then beat Frankfurt 4-0 and are top of the Bundesliga. They now need to win all the rest of their matches to be sure to win the championship. (hard for me, i literally don't care who wins because it won't be Gladbach, and i hate Dortmund slightly less than i hate Bayern so - meh)

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 22/04/2023 22:01

Oh Jeezus, that Southampton away strip was ghastly!

Noooo i love it 😂

EddieHoweisMYmanager · 23/04/2023 11:51

I’m getting ready for the match today, I’m a bundle of nervous energy, it’s a real 6 pointer today. If we win I might start believing we’ll be playing Champions League football next season.
