God that’s expensive. Cheapest at Newcastle is under £500. I’m in level 1 on the corner flag and it’s only £650ish.

Tough watch away at Elland Road today. Wish we’d put it beyond them when we were winning but the hunt for UCL is still very much on.

Brefugee · 13/05/2023 15:20

I'm also still (have been for years, but since it affects me it is doubly grating) massively bonkers that a team could be promoted who have 19 points fewer than the 3rd placed team who had 96 points. It is just, especially in this day and age of huge money being involved, not acceptable to me.

Tarkan · 13/05/2023 15:45

My season ticket for Gayfield is only £130. That's Scottish championship. But I'm a student for one more year so I actually get it half price (it's £260 for an adult ticket) and that's the higher price for a seat in the stand rather than the general terracing.

😭😭😭😭

So sorry Nobby, I did think of you when I saw the final score 😢

BitOutOfPractice · 13/05/2023 23:03

Oh @AndNobbyDancing I’m so sorry. I know just how gutting that is.

Oblomov23 · 13/05/2023 23:36

I can't believe what I was watching. It was so sad to watch the whole Spurs versus Aston Villa today - where we like never even showed up l, apathetic, it was so painful to watch. I can't stand it.

burblish · 14/05/2023 04:18

@AndNobbyDancing So sorry - here’s hoping the Saints come straight back up next season.

Tarkan · 14/05/2023 09:38

So sorry Nobby. Hope you get to come back up next season.

DuncinToffee · 14/05/2023 10:25

So sorry Nobby, I keep looking at the table with intepidation

So sorry about Southampton.

Good luck today @DuncinToffee

Oblomov23 · 14/05/2023 10:51

So sorry Nobby. Dh's goddaughter is married to one of their players and he goes there, and obviously thus we always take a vested interest and this is very sad to see.

DuncinToffee · 14/05/2023 16:27

Sorry Gunners, despite keeping Haaland quiet we were simply outclassed.

So happy to see Brighton doing well. I’ve followed them loosely since I was a student in the mid 90s.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 14/05/2023 18:32

Well, that was pathetic. Dreadful refereeing as well, not that it would have affected the result, but dreadful all the same.

I'd have snapped your hand off for second place at the beginning of the season, but it feels like such a disappointment right now. We need some quality bolstering of the squad over the summer.

Don't worry. So were we.

Brighton came with a plan and we couldn't cope. They did to use, what you did to them.

Thank goodness we already have second place.

We had lots of chances but were unlucky.

You can't win them all.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 16/05/2023 22:09

Luton going to Wembley!

So pleased for them.

burblish · 17/05/2023 17:14

Ivan Toney has been banned from football for eight months after breaking FA betting rules - Brentford must be furious with him.

Brefugee · 17/05/2023 17:28

blimey, that's bad. I really wish all footballing leagues and clubs would drop all ties with betting companies too.

I saw a tweet today that said that Xhaka is having talks with Leverkusen and may come back to the bundesliga.
(i would be very sad if he did come back but not to us)

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2023 17:34

Via Paul Joyce

Ivan Toney has been suspended from all football and football-related activity with immediate effect for eight months, which runs up to and including 16 January 2024, fined £50,000 and warned as to his future conduct for breaches of The FA’s Betting Rules.

Yes, I think everyone now thinks that he will be leaving at the end of the season.

Will really miss him. He is my favourite player.

They said that the Arteta is very good friends with their manager.

And apparently we want Diaby (but I think lots of other people do too).

Brefugee · 17/05/2023 17:59

i didn't realise he would be leaving Arsenal, i thought he liked it there.
I really really wish he'd come back to Gladbach, we really need him here.

xabia · 17/05/2023 20:59

Man City unbelievable first half! Keep it up!

xabia · 17/05/2023 21:59

Yeeeesssss! 4-0 Istanbul here we comeSmile

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 17/05/2023 22:17

I'd be sad to see Xhaka go, he's come back brilliantly and has been a definite presence in the dressing room, and on the pitch (although not always ideally). I presume that Arteta has a plan and that he won't be automatic first choice in the future, so he's giving his the opportunity to leave, and he deserves the choice.

On the Toney issue, it's rather strange that they ban Brentford's best player with two games still to go. And it's even more dubious considering that they have to play Sprs and City. OK, so we aren't going to be neck and neck with City on the last day, but there are teams going for the European spots vying with Sprs, which could give them an advantage. You'd think that at this stage of the season it would make more sense to wait two weeks, and then ban him for 6 months from the beginning of the next season. It can be hard to tell whether it's dodgy or just incompetent...
