Morning all ! Are there any Leeds fans here, or anyone who has done Leeds away recently ?
We're driving up from the South Coast on Saturday and trying to figure out the best place to park. The last time we went (few years ago now) we parked in a car park right outside the ground...was an absolute nightmare to get out of. Is it worth heading to the town centre and using the shuttle bus ? I understand there are some park and rides... are they specifically for football or do they drop in the town ? Trying to make the day as stress free as possible.
Any tips gratefully received !

Well I saw this a few hours too late ! Hope you managed to find somewhere easily enough. The park and ride behind the west stand is our usual car park of choice, its a nightmare to get out of at full time but it's definitely the biggest and easiest one to get into.

so did anyone watch MOTD? how was it?

Yes, I really enjoyed it. They just showed the highlight of each match with crowd noise and the whole program was only 20 mins.

The only thing I missed was that they didn't show the lineups before the match or any subs.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 12/03/2023 11:25

The newspapers are reporting that MOTD figures were up by 500,000.

I hope they keep the new format.

I like Ian Wright and Alan Sheerer but have never liked GL.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 12/03/2023 12:44

I'm watching the Chelsea v Man U womens game on bbc2 and there is commentary.

It is nice to know that there are some people who care more about the fans than GL or their own careers.

DuncinToffee · 12/03/2023 12:58

I watched it out of curiosity and thought it was ridiculous. It was like watching one of those crackling fires or train journeys they show after certain hours.

I watch MotD because of the analysis and the post match talks. And however much I might get annoyed at the match coverage, commentators are vital to watching a match on tv.

I support Gary and his colleagues.

No I watched the EFL highlights though. A lot of focus on the #itshergametoo from the lower leagues which is great to see.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 12/03/2023 15:57

A hat-trick of assists for Trossard. I had high hopes for him but he has definitely surpassed them.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 12/03/2023 16:09

@DuncinToffee

Yes, I really like Alan Shearer's analyses but not if GL is presenting.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 12/03/2023 16:35

Well, that was better for my blood pressure than last week!

DuncinToffee · 12/03/2023 16:37

I am no fan of Jenas and Murphy but choose listening them over those 20 minutes of highlights.

Yes, we played well but were also lucky that Fulham were missing 2 of their best players.

Thank you @MarchingOnTogether ! ......We parked in one of the car parks by the ground last time we went (few years ago now) and it took forever to get out. All good this time though. Not sure the 9 1/2 hours sitting in a car was worth it for that performance but hey ho. The things we do as fans. Great atmosphere as ever though.

Oblomov22 · 13/03/2023 09:29

Never even watched MoTD this week, just because busy. But have very strong views about all this, not GL as such, I don't consider this to be about him, I consider it to be a bigger issue, but Free speech generally. So I actually signed the Mirror Re-instate GL petition.

NUFC back to winning ways yesterday thankfully, would have been a clean sheet if not for a rare Trippier clusterfuck in front of goal 🤦🏼‍♀️

I think Pope was lucky to get away without a red card but I think it was the right decision. I think the replays show Jiminez leaning heavily into him looking for the foul.

I did not watch this weekends MOTD but I have and will always support anyone that speaks out against this abhorrent government. Team Lineker all the way here.

WhiteHartLane · 13/03/2023 19:40

Gary Lineker will return to MOTD 🙌

Just wanted to share this video about Harry, a young Everton fan, you might need a tissue

That's just beautiful.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 16/03/2023 16:29

That was amazing. It is so good to see football bring such joy.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 16/03/2023 23:27

Not great tonight. Sporting seem to have a way of playing that shows up our worst attributes. It was still the width of a post away from being a win, but I'm more worried about the injuries. If those cost us the league - that will be painful.

Unbelievable goal by Sporting though. And there are a couple of players that we may be looking at in the next transfer window...

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 16/03/2023 23:54

I have to say though, I've tried to like Vieira, but he gives the ball away too often, too cheaply, and he always seems to slow play down. There was a clear difference when Ødegaard came on. Frankly, I think Smith Rowe should be Ødegaard's understudy.

WhiteHartLane · 17/03/2023 08:25

Aww that video 💛

Just seen Vieira has been sacked from Palace. I didn't realise they haven't yet won a game in the PL this year.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 17/03/2023 09:32

Yes, not too sad to be out of the Europa League. We can't afford any more injuries. I just hope Saliba is ok. Tomyiasu was seen on crutches last night.

So sad to hear that Viera has been sacked. The management don't invest and then blame the manager.
