I quite like Brighton & Hove Actually too. They seem to be a proper club, well run, and generally likeable.

I wish they'd sell us Caicedo though, then we wouldn't have this nonsense about Jorginho! Mitoma would be nice too!

I can only assume/hope that he's going to be warming the bench until unless Partey gets injured, maybe stepping in for the Europa League.

It's all down to our Chairman, Tony Bloom. He's a bit of a mathematics genius and was a professional gambler. Believe it or not, he has some kind of secret mathematical algorithm which the club use to identify players at a really young age and figure out statistically whether they are genuinely good, or just lucky. Coupled with the fact that we have an amazing academy, we pick them up for relatively little money and bring them on. Only problem is, we don't keep them :(

Yes, there was an article in the Telegraph about him today.

I was saying the other day that I think that Graham Potter isn't the brilliant manager that Chelsea thought he was because most managers would have been able to do what he did with the brilliant player that Tony Bloom's software is able to identify.

What do you think of your new manager? I don't really like him.

What do you think of Trossard?

Mitoma is brilliant. Do you think you will be able to hold on to him in the summer?

I don't blame you for not wanting to sell Caicedo to us.

@YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue it looks like the Jorginho deal is done but I don't think it's over in regards to Caicedo (unfortunately). Going to be a nail biting day. So hoping we can keep hold of him until the Summer. The clubs stance has always been that they won't stop players going if it's what they want, and we make really good money from the model. I get it, but its so frustrating as a fan, Tony Bloom has a long term plan but we all want Europe NOW 😆

@MustTryHarderAndHarder I haven't seen that yet, will have a look in a mo.

We loved Potter and he was great while he was with us. We owe him a lot but De Zerbi has bought passion and a bit of backbone which Potter was missing. He's also a much more attacking minded manager so the football is more exciting. Potter never seemed to have a plan B and never changed anything. De Zerbi is very popular with the fans. We all though the world had ended when Potter went but i don't think there is one Brighton fan who would have him back now. Chelsea seem to be playing exactly the way we played under Potter. Pretty but no end result. Step too far for Potter unfortunately. I feel a bit sad about it all. I hope they give him time.

Trossard is a fantastic player. Shame he turned into a bit of a Prima donna at the end. Rumour is that he had a big bust up with Lallana and was told to stay away until he grew up. A massive part of Brighton's success is that they are a proper "team". No one is too big for the club and if they think they are, they go. Doesn't matter how good they are. He's great though.

So hoping we can keep hold of Mitoma and Caicedo until the Summer, but the model at the moment is to find these players, bring them on and then sell. Tony Bloom is a very shrewd business man. I'm sure he knows what he's doing, and we all have faith in him (we possibly wouldn't exist if it wasn't for him) He's a true Brighton fan so has the best interest of the club at heart. Frustrating as a fan though !

I’m very very nervous for tonight…

Good luck.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 31/01/2023 15:04

@MustTryHarderAndHarder thank you!

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 01/02/2023 00:00

Now I’m nervous for Wembley 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Home from the match and now watching the recording on the telly 😂

First half was absolutely outstanding, we’d beat any team in the world playing like that.

second half. Ehhhmm. Not so much. But the job was done by then at least. Chuffed for Longstaff though. He gets some stick so absolutely wonderful to see him score two in such an important match.

Bruno deserved the red but I think it was mistimed rather than malicious. Thank god he’ll be back for the final though.

HWTL 🖤🤍🖤🤍

LeatherTuscadero · 01/02/2023 08:45

Arseblog says: "Our 30+ signings from Chelsea haven’t really been a success. To be fair, Petr Cech wasn’t awful, just quite average. David Luiz did make a good contribution off the pitch between red cards, with some good performances on it – not least in the FA Cup winning run. And obviously the less said about Willian the better.

Nevertheless, there is some deep-seated trauma there. The Jorginho links scratched at old wounds that weren’t particularly well healed.

Which is why I was looking at the fee and the duration of the contract very closely. £11m + £2m in add-ons is fine in this market, and the 18 month deal with an option for another suggests we’ve learned something from handing out lucrative three year contracts to players who are in the late stages of their careers. He’s also been playing regularly this season, 15 PL starts, so it’s not as if he was twiddling his thumbs on their enormous bench. He’s a regular, not a cast off. It’s also not the kind of signing that provides any kind obstacle, financial or otherwise, to a summer signing which genuinely raises the level – and we all know that’s something the club are keen to do. Finally, unlike Willian, he’s a player we actually need."

DuncinToffee · 01/02/2023 08:59

We had no signings

The board has let down the new manager, the team and most importantly us the fans. Unbelievable Angry

Yes, so sad. You got £40m for Gordon but didn't spend it.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 01/02/2023 09:35

@EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy

Well done!

Yes, Wembley certainly is nerve-racking. I remember when I went to my first FA Cup semi-final at Wembley against City and I really thought that it was going to go to penalties which I couldn't have coped with. So, I decided that I did not want to go to the final and let my stepson go instead. We ended up beating Chelsea so it was ok in the end, but I don't think that I could have coped with the stress.

Erikson is going to be a big miss for United who knows who will win tonight.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 01/02/2023 10:05

@LeatherTuscadero

Yes, I have no idea why we bought Willian, but having said that, he is doing well at Fulham, so perhaps it was our style of football.

Let's hope Jorginho is a success and we certainly do need someone in that position.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 01/02/2023 21:17

Who needs Mudryk when we can have Balogan back:

From Twitter:

Folarin Balogun has just scored a hat trick in 20 minutes for Reims against Lorient! He has now more goals in Ligue 1 this season so far than Kylian Mbappé, Neymar or Messi! He is still only 21! What a season!

Only Erling Haaland (25) and Harry Kane (16) have scored more goals in Europe's big five leagues this season than Folarin Balogun. Prospect.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 01/02/2023 23:59

Oh yes. And his hattrick so intimidated Mbappe that he missed a penalty, VAR said he could retake it, and he missed it again. And then missed the rebound.

Hale End strikes again!

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 04/02/2023 14:29

@DuncinToffee

Well done. We were outplayed. Hopefully we have kept you up.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 04/02/2023 14:30

Well, that was frustrating. Yes, Everton played much better, but unfortunately we weren't at the game today. Ødegaard hardly involved (probably my fault as I put him in my dream team), and the ref didn't help matters with some bad decisions.

And it's always hard to see Maupay winning anything because he's such a cheating little scumbag...

DuncinToffee · 04/02/2023 14:43

YES!!!!! GrinGrinGrin

Wow did we need that!

Arsenal can't complain about the ref today

AndNobbyDancing · 04/02/2023 15:49

Sorry I've been awol, I've been worried about engaging in anything related to football in case I get signed for Chelsea.

Obviously I want the Everton to go down (only to save Saints and Cherries) but love the mighty Dyche so pleased with the result

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 04/02/2023 16:32

@DuncinToffee

I think that if you read @YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue 's post above, I think we can.

We just didn't turn up today. But next week will be interesting with 3 games in 8 days.

Everton drew with City earlier in the season so it looks like they like playing against teams that play like us.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 04/02/2023 17:20

@AndNobbyDancing 😂

BitOutOfPractice · 04/02/2023 18:41

Wolves fan here just signing in to say WHAT A RESULT!

Of course all the headlines will be about Liverpool losing not wolves winning but we played so well and our new signings look awesome. If we could keep a striker fit we’d be unstoppable 😬

Until today Liverpool were the only team we had taken no points off in the Prem. So that’ll do nicely!

Apparently the Molineux was singing to Klopp “you’re getting sacked in the morning”.

next two games are against Southampton and Bournemouth which seem much more winnable now and get us more firmly out of trouble.

GOMB! 🧡🖤

DuncinToffee · 04/02/2023 18:49

Loved the Wolves result

🎵I never felt more like singing the blues when Everton win and Liverpool lose 🎶

Great results for Wolves, Leicester and Everton. Will watch the highlights later.

Another win for Gillingham, that's 10 points from our last 4 games, stadium is buzzing again. Had a great transfer window (10 new signings) and the new owner is already talking about the summer one 😃 Only low is Hartlepool beat Donny so we remain in the bottom 2 for now.

AndNobbyDancing · 04/02/2023 19:25

Holy fuck Wolves, and the lovely Leicester.

Crapness in the south coast teams
