Oh dear Oblamov.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 19/01/2023 21:59

And they Sp*rs it up again...

Brefugee · 20/01/2023 06:59

I read Neuer’s injury is a broken leg from a skiing accident - seems so unnecessarily risky for a footballer to go skiing mid-season! Nagelsmann must have been beyond furious.

According to twitter at the time he wasn't actually skiing? But yeah, i would have been really furious. It does Bayern good to sideline Neuer now and again and do some succession training. I am still aghast that Sommer has potentially gone there to play 2nd fiddle after 8.5 years as #1 at Gladbach and fighting for his position in the national team - he is at the top of his form.
OTOH now Sommer isn't one of ours, i will be full of Schadenfreude if he does have to sit on the bench a lot. Maybe he's winding down his career. He's into music in a big way, and used to have a fascinating cooking blog. So who knows.

oh dear, i was rooting for Spurs but we're an hour ahead and i went to bed just as the 2nd half started. Cleaning my teeth - bam. Walked across landing to bedroom and comes a shout from downstairs "he's a monster!" so i knew it was Haarland. Oh well. It was a nice dream.

At the Ethiad last night (not actually a city fan myself but took dd) oh my gosh for such an exciting game the fans were shocking! Totally silent, not getting behind the team for the entire first half, I’ve never been to a game like it in my whole life. Thank goodness they came back second half and scored, and things livened up. Shame for spurs, but the quality of city strikers you know they are never quite beat.

Oblomov22 · 20/01/2023 07:13

To be fair I didn't think spurs played that badly. Marhez was on fire and instrumental in their first 3 goals. Plus Dh said most teams are 3-0 down to Man City within the 1st half, which is true.

Oblomov22 · 20/01/2023 07:14

Agreed re the shocking quietness of etihad. Dh says Man City fans are often like that, very quiet.

sunstoked · 20/01/2023 07:22

I’ve told dd she has to come to a Baggies came with me - half the capacity and twice the atmosphere. Hoping to convert her now we are winning a few (please keep it up). Spurs played well overall - just when City get going they are hard to beat, and with so many top quality options on the bench as well.

while i do like the noisiness of Bundesliga stadiums, I'm sometimes annoyed that it is basically driven by a bunch of guys who think they are the bees knees in the Ultras section and often doesn't go with the flow of the game. Although with the drums and 2-0 down to Bayern at home when everyone gets behind the team it is phenomenal. And spurs the team on. (and it is hilarious how offended they get when they're doing their 19 minute silence against Leipzig - can explain if anyone really wants to know - and the rest of the stadium just take over making noise. in fact the Ultras discussion is quite interesting, if you're into that kind of thing)

I've been impressed recently at how noisy English stadiums are, so it's always a surprise now when they aren't.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/01/2023 09:55

Looks like Trossard is a done deal. A bit lukewarm on him, obviously second choice, but he's Premiership proven, and scores goals, so I'll gladly give him a chance.

I'm pleased. I watch Brighton a lot and have always liked him. I hope we also sign Mitoma in the summer.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/01/2023 12:15

I like Mitoma. He gave us a lot of trouble.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/01/2023 12:26

Jakub Kiwior! That seems to have come out of nowhere. Can't say I know anything about him...

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/01/2023 12:41

Chelsea bidding for him in 3...2...1...

Well, apparently he is flying here for a medical but then so did Mata and we lost him to Chelsea, so who knows.

Trossard had to be registered by midday to be able to play on Sunday, so it looks like the won't be available.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/01/2023 17:29

Twitter earlier reckoned that he had been registered in time, but I don't know. Saka and Martinelli should be enough if he's not.

Yes, just saw that too.

My husband think that Mudryk was just a decoy to make sure that Chelsea paid over the odds for one player so that they couldn't sabotage any of our real targets!

He also thinks that Trossard engineered the falling out with the Brighton manager so that the transfer was easier for us.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/01/2023 18:18

His agent said he turned down two other clubs to sign for Arsenal. But, at the moment, you would, wouldn't you!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/01/2023 19:57

Interesting that Trossard looks happy in his new player pictures, but Mudryk looks like a hostage photo...

Brefugee · 20/01/2023 21:23

so sad watching Sommer play for another club. Against a club that have one of our ex trainers, and now our ex-sport director.
Gladbach obviously pick really good players/staff

BitOutOfPractice · 20/01/2023 21:38

Re the ethiad. My daughter works there. Total shambles. Not a nice place to work. No protection for workers and Not somewhere I’d be proud of as my ground.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/01/2023 21:55

So, Tottenham’s sporting director, Fábio Patarici, has been suspended for 2 and 1/2 years after being found guilty in the Juventus investigation.

And don't forget that Conte has form for match fixing. I can only presume they are betting on Sp*rs losing...

Brefugee · 20/01/2023 21:55

blimey, that's shocking

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 21/01/2023 18:06

Well, Mudryk was good today. Pleased he didn't score as that would have rubbed salt into the wounds.

Hoping that Trossard will score a hat trick tomorrow like he did against Liverpool.

WhiteHartLane · 21/01/2023 19:29

Another 2-0 win for the Gills today. New signing Nichols strikes again against Colchester. Off the bottom with 2 games in hand, living the dream Grin

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 22/01/2023 16:19

Oh great, McTominay is starting. That means we'll get kicked off the pitch and the ref will do absolutely nothing about it.
