Late to this! As name would suggest am a Leicester fan.

Two DDs (10 and 8), both Foxes despite DH being Man City. He is lifelong, but less passionate than me, I think the money in the club probably responsible for that. So they are definitely Foxes, with a 'second team' fondness for Man City.

Season is a hard one, diabolical start. Missing Kasper Schmeichel hugely. Shambolic / comedic performance last night. Thought we were going to be in a relegation battle, hope to avoid but not sure!

World Cup break did us no favours. I enjoyed it though.

Hi @Sisterwinter1969 !!! This is exciting! I didn't expect any other City fans! I didn't know this thread was here actually, only spotted today on active. Nice to meet you!

sunstoked · 31/12/2022 19:15

Unlucky last night @DoingALeicester you couldn’t make it up! As a neutral it was a very entertaining game though

WhiteHartLane · 31/12/2022 19:23

Welcome @DoingALeicester agree your boys were unlucky last night. Have to say I am hoping Faes can score for Gillingham next weekend though. Looking forward to attending that game, however expecting to be well beaten. Suffered another late loss to Sutton Thursday so end 2022 bottom of the EFL, however we did score our 7th goal of the season!

Happy New Year all.

Brefugee · 31/12/2022 19:26

gosh this Brighton / Arsenal match is exciting.
i always keep an eye out for Arsenal because of Xhaka. Loved watching him when he played for Gladbach.

Hello @DoingALeicester . Great to meet you too. Experiencing the ups and downs of life with LCFC.
And I still can't really believe what we did in 2015-2016!

DoingALeicester · 31/12/2022 20:29

Thanks for that @WhiteHartLane Grin

DoingALeicester · 31/12/2022 20:32

I'm a way @Sisterwinter1969 it almost doesn't matter what happens now. That was all so weird and wonderful that I feel I can live with anything now! Although I started to get very worried about relegation prospects for a while there. Not so much for me, I can cope and feel it's more normal when we are crap!!! Was a little worried about losing the DDs though if not on the telly so regularly... they're at a critical age!

DoingALeicester · 31/12/2022 20:34

Obviously @Sisterwinter1969 we are not local so we are TV coverage reliant!

I missed the matches today, sounds like I missed some good stuff.

This Ronaldo business is a bit sad isn't it.

AndNobbyDancing · 31/12/2022 20:46

I've been flattened by this awful illness that is going round and will try and catch up on the others posts, especially the debate on De Bruyne, interesting.

Enjoyed the Brigton match especially when it looked like Mitoma had made it 3-4.

Only dragged myself to comment as want to know if 'DoingaLeicester' is the same as 'DoingaMonica' .

DoingALeicester · 31/12/2022 21:18

@AndNobbyDancing 'doing a Leicester' is basically variations of what we did last night. Chucking stuff away in a ridiculous fashion. Can remember my Grandpa saying it way back in the day and now say it to my girls. About football and life...It has passed into common parlance in my house.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 31/12/2022 21:28

Brefugee · 31/12/2022 17:30

so Kevin de Bruyne has been voted best PL midfieldier of all time. What do we think of that?

It's always going to go to someone current, that's just the way it it.

The correct answer though, is, obviously, Patrick Vieira. Nobody could touch him.

Tough game tonight against Brighton and Hove Actually, but some good goals, and Ødegaard just gets better and better. I'm trying not to start hoping; it's the hope that kills you...

But I've got to keep it going now; ♫"Top of the league, we're havin' a laugh"♫

We're quite local @DoingALeicester and have been season ticket holders for many years. DD is a big supporter still (and granddaughter too), but she doesn't attend games now.
Keep them interested as long as you can!!

DoingALeicester · 01/01/2023 16:19

I will @Sisterwinter1969
I first went when I was seven in 1981 with my Grandpa, and it stuck with me, so hoping will be the same for them. We've only been once, to the 4-2 win against Watford last November, with the blizzard, which to be fair felt very 80s!! Couldn't see the ball!

ABigSalad123 · 01/01/2023 17:26

Hello all! Spurs fan here reporting for duty. Eeek was following their match against Aston Villa today on the Guardian’s blog - can only hope the rest of 2023 brings better results for them! They’ve got excellent individual players but they always seem to come up short….

HalleLouja · 02/01/2023 19:29

Oh dear - Liverpool had a shocker. Well done Brentford though.

AndNobbyDancing · 02/01/2023 19:49

Still so sick but that Brentford game was tonic for the soul. Really enjoyed that.

burblish · 02/01/2023 20:03

Urgh, that was horrible to watch; well done Brentford. Poor Ibou Konate isn’t having a great time at the moment - loses the World Cup Final and then, in his next game after that, scores an OG and fails to prevent another goal. What on earth has happened to our midfield?!

WhiteHartLane · 02/01/2023 20:32

Brentford have been tough to beat at home. Think only Arsenal have managed it this season so far.

Oblomov22 · 02/01/2023 20:48

The Brentford singing and dancing was just superb.

Indeed, I well remember the twitter outcry of "it's only Brentford"...

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 03/01/2023 09:30

Starting to feel a bit nervous about tonight!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 03/01/2023 11:46

Me too, this could be a tough one!

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 03/01/2023 12:56

May the best team win 😬😬

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 03/01/2023 14:37

Let's hope so. At least the referees shouldn't have any agenda for this game.
