Well, I have to admit that I never thought Iwobi's name would be first on the team sheet. He is a joy to watch, well done to him and Lampard

Klopp??

Congrats Forest

We were abject today. Dear oh dear. Klopp is safe though; I think it would take a hell of a lot worse than this for him to be let go. I still can’t think of anyone else I would rather have as our manager.

Brefugee · 23/10/2022 10:20

With some players, they need a change of team/trainer to get their mojo back, i think

We had an awful day yesterday, having been knocked out of the cup, we were woeful against Frankfurt yesterday at home.

Also they were using the Spidercam (do they call that in UK too? the flying one on the cables? - and one of the cables broke. Could have been dangerous if it had hit anyone.

WhiteHartLane · 23/10/2022 13:22

Gillingham are becoming the draw specialists, but they are finally scoring now and unbeaten in 7. Although I'm not sure having a 20year old centre back loanee as their top goal scorer will secure their League 2 status 😂

Enjoy the Spurs game later @Oblomov22

Here now.

DuncinToffee · 23/10/2022 16:53

Quite a goalfest so far today. Worrying signs for Wolves.

Hope you will have a better second half Oblomov

Disappointing today. Southampton seem to be a bit of a bogey team for us.

Given that, we had enough chances to kill the game off, but didn't take them.

On the other hand, Jesus maybe could have taken some if he wasn't being manhandled to the floor every time he got the ball. However, the referee seemed to think we must be playing rugby or something. Even the head butt at the end was only deemed worthy of a yellow.

As for Saka's yellow card, I just don't know what to say...

AndNobbyDancing · 23/10/2022 18:14

Saints were excellent today, always funny how a draw can be anything but, it was a draw where we won and Arsenal lost.

I agree really burb I can't see him going either but it has made this season more exciting for the neutrals.

Sorry my kids, sorry White and Obl but c'mon Eddie.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 23/10/2022 18:52

But while I still can;

♫"Top of the league, we're havin' a laugh"♫

WhiteHartLane · 23/10/2022 20:24

No complaints with that result, defensively so poor and Lloris had a mare. Need a keeper who can handle the ball at his feet. And Contes subs wtf? Need a goal and he brings on 2 defenders?!!

Great point for your boys Nobby. Another bad day for Leeds and Wolves.

Oblomov22 · 23/10/2022 21:18

Just got home from Spurs v Newcastle. Oh my word. We were so poor. Disgusting it was. I boo'ed at 1/2 time. Loads of people left early, and some not just to get a drink, they didn't come back.

I knew we were not great, recently. I knew we had major issues. But watching that, was just so poor.

I was so excited. Did enjoy it. Loved the stadium, the atmosphere, the singing: I know many of the words. But that soon wore off! Oh well. Every Spurs supporter knows it's a very painful journey. WinkSmile

In 41 years of watching wolves (and trust me, there’s been some bad times), that’s the first time I’ve ever left the molineux before the end 😢

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 24/10/2022 09:19

Spurs were poor but Newcastle were also really good, there wasn’t much doubt for most of the match that we were the team playing with confidence and most likely to score. Son went missing for you after the first three minutes.

Miguel Almiron is showing Jack Grealish week in week out exactly what he’s made of. I couldn’t be prouder of that team right now. Bring on Villa at the weekend. SJP will be jumping and I for one can not wait.

4th in the league man. FOURTH IN THE LEAGUE.

Oblomov22 · 24/10/2022 21:27

I'm still completely hoarse from singing, cheering, finally booing. I did have the best time. Ever. Forgotten how much I love it.

burblish · 24/10/2022 22:07

Cor, Unai Emery is quite a coup for Villa! I thought he was excellent at Villareal. I was surprised he agreed to come back to the Prem after the way the press treated him when he was at Arsenal. Hope he is shown a bit more respect now.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 24/10/2022 22:54

I was a bit surprised given he turned Newcastle down last year.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 25/10/2022 14:50

Good Ebening.

I think Emery is a decent manager. He was just unfortunate to be the one taking over from Wenger. With hindsight that was always going to be a short term position. He did steady the ship and put some good stuff into place. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on.

TheFutureIs · 25/10/2022 17:56

Very rare evening game for me tonight, used to go to most of them but can't really keep a 6 year old up that late on a school night! Quite excited, as is she! Hopefully another win for Pompey!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 27/10/2022 20:46

Poor performance tonight. PSV were just better than us.

But elsewhere, thoughts go out to Pablo Mari and his family.

AndNobbyDancing · 27/10/2022 22:11

Indeed, thoughts with all those killed and injured.

Garnacho was excellent for united today, exciting and fresh.

DuncinToffee · 27/10/2022 22:37

I just read about the supermarket stabbings Sad

PSV is my childhood club, it's always nice to see them win. Jarrad Branthwaite played well.

An absolutely sterling second half performance by Newcastle today.

as one pundit commented on Twitter after the match, ‘the main problem Aston Villa had today was Newcastle were fucking class’.

I shouted myself hoarse and left the ground with a banging head from my own voice 😂

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 29/10/2022 23:05

Oh yay we Chelsea play Newcastle soon...least the world Cup starts after!
