I am so excited about this. I’ve got coffee in. I’ve got snacks in.

Anyone else?

I can’t wait. I really hope that ROC can hold it together on beam today. If they managed to outscore USA again it will be a huge upset

AndyMurraysCat · 27/07/2021 10:52

Yes & does anyone know what time it will be on please?

PurpleDaisies · 27/07/2021 10:56

Coverage starts on Eurosport at 1130am. It starts at 1145am.

It should also be on BBC1, but I imagine they’ll switch on closer to the start time. They broadcast all of men’s team finals yesterday, though they switched channels twice during, so might be something to watch out for if you leave and come back to it.

Thanks Purple & Toast

SummaLuvin · 27/07/2021 11:38

I'm so excited.

Hoping for a solid/clean performance for GB.

I, too, would love an upset. Nothing against the USA girls who are all wonderful, but it has been a given for so many years that they would win, it makes it more exciting.

More than anything though I would love to see everyone have a clean performance, that's what made yesterdays Mens final so special for me, the big teams made no major mistakes.

PurpleDaisies · 27/07/2021 11:52

Here we go!
I’ve got BBC1 on even though Matt baker irritates me.

Yes! Watching on BBC live now, though sadly have to go out shortly.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 27/07/2021 11:56

I thought the women's all-around final was Thurs - is it not?

PurpleDaisies · 27/07/2021 11:57

The team final is now.

The individual all around is on Thursday. Women's team is today.

Nervous for GB starting on beam

SummaLuvin · 27/07/2021 12:01

yep, they accounced Amelies score. 12,233, either a fall or many significant wobbles. Shame as she is normally super reliable and consistent.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 27/07/2021 12:02

Ooh thanks!

PurpleDaisies · 27/07/2021 12:12

I think I held my breath through the whole of that beam routine!

Well done Jen, especially after falls from Belgium too. Thankfully beam is out of the way now.

Maladicta · 27/07/2021 12:18

I hope Simone Biles is ok Sad

SummaLuvin · 27/07/2021 12:22

me too. It would be devastating for her to be injured out of the Olympics at this point. Hopefully she is just going to the back for a little break, a warm up, and physio ahead of the other events. She didn't look like she was walking funny.

toastofthetown · 27/07/2021 12:23

I think she might have had an issue with her block and baulked. Very uncharacteristic though.

SummaLuvin · 27/07/2021 12:25

Japan get my vote for the prettiest leotards. Though I do normally favour super patriotic ones for team final.

Balloondog · 27/07/2021 12:25

Oh no, I went to make lunch! What happened to SB?!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/07/2021 12:28

I liked that Belgian floor routine, I think it looks better when the dancing is worked in a bit more.

toastofthetown · 27/07/2021 12:29

Simone has been withdrawn from the line up apparently. Really hope that she is ok.

SummaLuvin · 27/07/2021 12:29

She went for Yurchenko 2 1/2, but I think something felt off, so she only did Yurchenko 1 1/2, and had a very deep and messy landing. So down on E score and down on D score. She then went to the back of the stadium and people thought maybe something was very wrong. She has come back out now.

toastofthetown · 27/07/2021 12:33

Simone Biles is now listed as the reserve on all events on the start sheet. Good luck to Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles, who weren't expecting to have to participating in all events today.
