Can't see a thread on this ....

Any rugby lovers here? Not many of my girlfriends share my love of rugby.

France/Argentina - cracking close match.

Japan/Russia - glad the home team won.

Australia/Fiji fantastic first half.

And now the All Blacks v Springboks - can't wait ....

Well said @Horehound . The anti Scottish bile on Twitter is bad enough. Don't need it here. All of a sudden we've become the bad guys for wanting to play our deciding match which we've pretty much known from the beginning could be the one.

AnOojamaflip · 12/10/2019 12:04

Oddly there was a bit of huffing that it was the weather's fault Ireland lost against Japan. So it evidently is the weather after all (btw is woodman03 Eddie Jones?)

The commentator on the irish/Samoa match (Eir TV) just mentioned the Scotland match is back on, for the moment.

TanteRose · 12/10/2019 12:11

Hi guys! Typhoon is right overhead now - we still have electricity and I'm watching the Ireland - Samoa game Smile
The typhoon will be far away by Sunday evening so pretty sure the game will go ahead tomorrow Smile

Encouraging news all round Tante :)

AnOojamaflip · 12/10/2019 13:01

@TanteRose did you say whereabouts you are? Getting messages about an 5.7 earthquake (Chiba)!!

TanteRose · 12/10/2019 13:40

I'm south of Tokyo/Yokohama on the coast!

Yes we had an earthquake earlier Confused
It wasn't very big - at first, I thought it was the wind shaking the building Grin

Friends were saying that it would be Godzilla appearing next Grin

Still pretty wild outside at the moment but the storm is heading north now

beanaseireann · 12/10/2019 15:41

AnOojamaflip
Which commentator blamed the weather for Ireland losing to Japan?
I just thought Japan played better rugby than Ireland in that match.

AnOojamaflip · 12/10/2019 15:54

An RTE one

Well more the humidity (though I suppose that is the weather) making the ball slippy and the players sweaty, and the Japanese players didn't have the same problem. Particularly amused me when he this one time said this whilst the camera was focused on a very sweaty Japanese player.

Saying that the pundit on Eir today fully noted that the loss was due to ireland not moving off the game play despite it being obvious the Japanese had done their homework and knew Ireland's moves. Which is very much it!!

AnOojamaflip · 12/10/2019 15:55

Godzilla Ha! Yes TanteRose, it probably wouldn't be too surprising if he did turn up!!

massistar · 12/10/2019 17:43

@TanteRose the evening news said that it doesn't seem to be quite as bad as they were expecting. Glad you're all ok!

AlunWynsKnee · 12/10/2019 17:57

Ds is quite excited at the prospect of Godzilla Grin

moreturkeyforme · 12/10/2019 22:27

moreturkeyforme · 12/10/2019 22:34

Wooo hoooooo!!!

massistar · 13/10/2019 08:58

Yes!! Just need to win the damn thing now!

Just gonna watch my second team first! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 09:21

Here for 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 :)

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 09:32

Ah this is a bit like Wales of the 90s. Spilling the ball, flat and slow. They need to get their act together.

massistar · 13/10/2019 09:48

They're not looking good are they?

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 10:01

It's very frustrating massistar. Not coherent at all. Running a bit better now but handling and infringements are shocking.

massistar · 13/10/2019 10:10

Got to hand it to Uruguay though. They're really frustrating them. I suspect major half time arse kicking to take place now.

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 10:14

Absolutely. Uruguay are having a really good game. They beat Fiji so they know they can surprise teams.
Gatland's going to be killing them in the changing room.

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 10:17

Hopefully fitness will help us have a better second half.
