Can't see a thread on this ....

Any rugby lovers here? Not many of my girlfriends share my love of rugby.

France/Argentina - cracking close match.

Japan/Russia - glad the home team won.

Australia/Fiji fantastic first half.

And now the All Blacks v Springboks - can't wait ....

Fair point @prettybird. I was working off memory :)
I knew I'd seen at least one non collection and I was more interested in the 4th placed side.

The behavior during the medal ceremony was atrocious as was their behavior during the Hakka.

UrsulaPandress · 05/11/2019 07:39

I didn’t mind the Hakka stand off. Much as I enjoy the Hakka it made a change to see a response to it. No reason why NZ should get a free pass on ‘expression’.

GrouchyKiwi · 05/11/2019 08:03

The ABs loved the response to the haka too. Don't think they loved the rest of the match, though. Grin

All bar one took their medal, shook hands with BB and passed by. What on Earth is the issue?!

As for taking their medals off - perfectly normal! Who would be happy with being rewarded for losing?! It isn’t the taking part that counts!

prettybird · 05/11/2019 09:10

I thought that their response to the Haka was perfectly appropriate: it's a challenge and it's supposed to invoke response Confused - as the All Blacks themselves pointed out Confused

I did however expect them to be fined, as the French were (also incorrectly) fined for their response.

ajandjjmum · 05/11/2019 11:20

I thought the Hakka response was inspired.

It was in no way rude or demeaning, but the team didn't just stand there like lemons whilst being faced with an aggressive (albeit traditional) challenge. They have been fined, as a couple of players were over the halfway line.

Medals - I've got mixed thoughts. They were gutted.
