Rugby World Cup 2019

Can't see a thread on this ....

Any rugby lovers here? Not many of my girlfriends share my love of rugby.

France/Argentina - cracking close match.

Japan/Russia - glad the home team won.

Australia/Fiji fantastic first half.

And now the All Blacks v Springboks - can't wait ....

@AlunWynsKnee I live about an hour south of Tokyo on the coast...will batten down over the weekend when it hits. Could affect power lines and trains. But Japan is used to these big storms so it should be okay 😊
Not sure what games it will affect - depends on the course it takes.

I was going to take the morning off but didn't manage to get it in my diary before it filled up so I am off to work shortly :(
Hoping I can watch the recording before seeing the result.
Fiji aren't a team to take lightly. Too fast and unpredictable.

All caught up now. Good scoreline Scotland.
Fiji lived up to their reputation again and that was a bit alarming for a while. Still BP win is what we wanted so job done. Quick turn around for Uruguay so hope all the injuries are minor. We can field our B team on Sunday at least.

Only managed to see about 20 mins of each game - too bloody busy at work!

Will watch Saturdays games as I am away for a week on holiday - will be travelling during the games.

Just found out my son is playing on Sunday at exact same time as the Scotland v Japan game. 😱😱😱. Most crucial of the pool games or local U15s??

Apparently the logistics of moving it are too complicated. I wonder why they don't just postpone it for a few days.
The RWC organisers say they have insurance that will cover ticket repayments, but what about air fares and hotel costs for people who may have flown out just for that one game?

The Scotland game looks dodgy too, but they haven't made a decision yet on that one.

It's the first time a RWC game has ever been cancelled.

I think it means England will meet Australia in the next round - so good news for Wales at least.

Don't understand why they can't play today or a few days after?

I know about logistics but surely the players would rather play, fans would rather change venue/watch on tv.

It's just not very sporting. There should have been a plan B for this very scenario.

Will be absolutely bloody gutted if Scotland go out because of the weather. How ironic. 😭😭😭 Will leave a bitter taste if the hosts go through on the back of it. Is it the only match that qualification depends on?

According to R4 this morning they've been working on trying to change the time/location of games all week.

They can't try to rearrange the Scotland match in isolation because, on paper, Italy have a chance of qualifying too. We all know they don't beat NZ, but the organisers say that. It's just a shame that the Scotland Japan match outcome could go either way.

I was sure they said they had a plans in place for typhoon cancellations. Did I imagine that?
