Any rugby lovers here? Not many of my girlfriends share my love of rugby.

France/Argentina - cracking close match.

Japan/Russia - glad the home team won.

Australia/Fiji fantastic first half.

And now the All Blacks v Springboks - can't wait ....

Uh oh. I wanted Japan to win but not get the bonus point. I'm scottish!

Big trouble for Scotland now then. They're going to have to play out of their skin to stay in this.

Scotland should win against Russia..easily hopefully!

But we need to score lots of points.
Ireland, Japan and Scotland could all end on 15 points and then it comes down to point difference from the games to decide who goes through!

Yes you'll need a BP and a big win over Russia to up the pd and then score a BP win over Japan avoiding a narrow win.

Correcting mysel. You'll be OK with 2 BP wins as long as Japan don't get the losing bonus.

Potential that the Ireland v Samoa match could be called off and declared a draw due to hurricane forecast. Whilst that would be hideously unfair to the Irish it could pave the way for Scotland and Japan qualifying from Group A which would make me very happy.

Hmm. Wales v Uruguay also potentially affected. A scoreless draw there could affect us too I think. Assuming we beat Fiji (not counting chickens) could a scoreless draw mean Australia win the group?

Why on Earth was the championship scheduled in typhoon season?

(Is there such a thing as a season for typhoons, or are they all year round?)

Apparently the World Athletics Championships are being held in Doha and the heat is unbearable.
Who makes these decisions?
The Scots voted against Ireland hosting the Rugby World Cup in 2023.

@massistar absolutely no worries - even on the Japanese news last night, they were saying that the typhoon might be advantageous for Japan!

But yeah, typhoon season stretches from July to October...and then the summer is almost unbearably hot (which does not bode well for the Tokyo Olympics next year )

Typhoons are nothing unusual but they have been getting more powerful recently (because climate change) so this one is a bit of a worry - especially as it will hit on the weekend and there are loads of foreign visitors here for the RWC so if the trains stop, it will be chaos!
