Great match, good to see another top team knocked out. Wigan did so well but the scenes at the end of the game were sad to watch.

LunarGirl · 20/02/2018 19:20

City fans ripping up the stand and throwing stuff at the police was disgusting, as was the Wigan fans on the pitch winding up the city fans. Idiots, the lot of them.

Pep's reaction surprised me, a player being sent off is obviously frustrating but my God, overreaction on his part. Can't believe he didn't get sent to the stands!

I see Conte has decided to not start a striker. Really don't understand why. I don't have a good feeling about this match but we'll see!

BelfastBloke · 20/02/2018 20:53

Chelsea 0-0 Barcelona. Second half and i still haven't figured out who I'm supporting. I kind of believe in supporting British teams in Europe, but I do also hate Chelsea.

So far so good, Chelsea are playing well tonight and have had a few attempts. Could snatch a goal 2nd half.

Massive over reaction from Pep, heard FA have "warned him" but won't be taking further action. Both clubs fans behaviour (esp the twat who attacked Augero) (sp) was shocking, but the lack of respect for the police and Deep Dale from City fans was unreal.

What an absolute shambles Arsenal were last night. It was freezing, and there weren't that many of us in the stadium. Danny Welbeck missed some sitters, and Mikhitaryan stopped passing to him.

We've got Man Citeh in the League cup final at Wembley on Sunday. Both teams lost their last games, so let's see how both teams react. Not at all optimistic, but then again I wasn't optimistic for the cup final against champions Chelsea last season, and we won that.

Another away loss and spiritless performance, sigh. Glad I chose to listen to the live commentary as the few minutes on MotD was more than enough.

BelfastBloke · 26/02/2018 17:05

I went to the League cup final on Sunday. As soon as the third goal went in with more than half an hour left to play, about half the Arsenal fans got up and left. The freezing stadium got noticeably colder without all their bodies.

I believe in staying till the end of the match, but I couldn't really blame them, what with how cold it was, and how hopeless the cause was, and how long you have to queue for the trains at Wembley.

ToffeeUp · 26/02/2018 17:15

Woolly hat off to you, I would have stayed too, you just never know what can happen.

eggofmantumbi · 01/03/2018 04:34

Another game ruined by VAR last night. I really hop, although I don't think I'll get my wish, that it never gets rolled out. I used to want video reviews, but it is terrible!

BelfastBloke · 01/03/2018 10:44

Were you at freezing Wembley, eggofmantumbi?

Am waiting to hear whether Arsenal v Man Citeh is on tonight at the Emirates, and then I'll decide whether to risk the (rather long) drive.

ToffeeUp, there is a very interesting extended discussion of the Everton situation on 'the Second Captains' podcast from Monday or Tuesday. It's an interview with a journalist who knows a lot about the issues there.

ToffeeUp · 01/03/2018 20:29

Thanks Belfast, I have seen it being discussed a lot on some of the Everton forums I lurk on.

Hope you decided to stay home tonight, it doesn't look good for the gunners so far.

I'll be watching the England Women on BBC red button at 9.

BelfastBloke · 02/03/2018 09:23

No, I went. Another 3-0 in the deep freeze!

OP posts:
eggofmantumbi · 03/03/2018 21:08

No, wasn't at Wembley, just getting angry at the TV instead.

Don't know all the issues, but never thought allardyce was a good fit at Everton....

WhiteHartLane · 08/03/2018 12:24

Any gutted spurs fans on here today? Happy with their CL performances and Juve are very experienced but I really wanted Spurs to get to the quarters especially after getting the 2 away goals!! Well done to City and Liverpool though.

BelfastBloke · 08/03/2018 20:47

Congrats to Spurs on your two away goals.
Arsenal just got two away goals against AC Milan tonight! Second leg at home in a week's time, and I'll be there.

WhiteHartLane · 08/03/2018 20:55

I watched the 1st half, fully deserved Arsenal win tonight. Bet Wengers relieved lol.
Enjoy the home tie next week.

BelfastBloke · 08/03/2018 21:48

Thanks. I was supporting Spurs last night, although I wouldn't want them to win the Champs League before Arsenal.

Chelsea winning it was hard.

OP posts:
eggofmantumbi · 10/03/2018 05:43

I shed a little tear @WhiteHartLane! Really gutted. A lot of eggs in the FA cup basket now!

ToffeeUp · 10/03/2018 18:31

Finally something to smile about again. Decent game, fantastic fans, Baines, Jags and Coleman back and the lesser spotted Klaassen. Just hope Walcott is ok.

I never felt more like singing the blues when Everton win and Liverpool lose Grin

BelfastBloke · 10/03/2018 23:35

Toffee, what's been going on with Wayne Rooney? Has he not been picked for a while? Are you glad he's at Everton?

Fat Sam just said on MOTD that, after Rooney's penalty miss, he will be off penalty duty. He said it jocularly, but he obviously meant it.

OP posts:
ToffeeUp · 10/03/2018 23:57

I personally wasn't too bothered about Rooney coming back but he still has a lot to give so I am quite happy with him now. Just as long as he plays in a position like today and not as a striker. Why he hasn't started at times, no idea, maybe he gets rested. Allerdyce had stated that Rooney and Sigurdsson couldn't play together but seemed to have changed his mind.

And Baines is the penalty taker.

BelfastBloke · 13/03/2018 22:11

Mourinho is sad tonight.

Ho ho ho

Grin

I didn't watch it but did see the reactions on social media, this seems to have sent the fans fuming:

Mou: "I've sat in this chair twice before, with Porto - Man Utd out, with Real Madrid - Man Utd out, so this is nothing new for this football club." #MUFC

WhiteHartLane · 14/03/2018 09:12

Got what they/he deserved - awful performance.

BelfastBloke · 14/03/2018 09:18

I was watching the Roma game instead. Pretty entertaining, and I'm glad they got through.
