It looks like Germany will finish second in their group and end up playing Brazil.

If England or Belgium finish second in their group, they avoid the half of the draw with Germany/Brazil in it.

So on Thursday night you could conceivably see both England and Belgium actively trying to lose the game. It could be hilarious.

That sounds ok doesn't it? Obviously don't want to jinx it, but we should be alright there.
Although, it's the World Cup and anything can happen, that's why we love it!

I may have been having dinner in a local buffet restaurant, during the second half, and may have let out a scream (with a mild swear word) when Germany scored. Although, I could see it coming.

DS likes Germany. I think it's because of Bayern.

Yeah it sounds alright on paper but this is England never make life easy for ourselves. We should hammer Panama 5 or 6 -0 tomorrow but I'm fully expecting a dogged 2-0 victory

Glad Panama cleaned up their act in the second half, guess it was the pressure showing. They have great fans.

Brilliant match, well first half anyway, but they couldn't keep that level up or the second half especially not in that heat! Well done lads.
No stress watching the match (seemed strange), I'm normally pacing up and down and screaming at the TV!
On to Belgium next, f we play with no fear then it could go our way!

There's a clip of the Panama manager speaking to Southgate and it looks like he's asking him to not humiliate them, saying a 5-goal cushion is enough. And Southgate looks like he agrees to it.

That's why these Cups are so excting. You never know what can happen and even the strongest teams can go through a bad patch.

FIFA rankings are weird. Belgium has ranked very high in the last few years but hasn't been a strong cup team ever, really.
