As in previous years, footy fans please sign in with

  1. Which team you support.
  2. Which country you support, or will be supporting in the World Cup.
  3. Which team(s) and/or countries you loathe.
  4. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.
  5. A thought on this season (Premiership/Championship/Champions’ League/FA Cup/World Cup/all leagues world wide.)

Last night was exciting. None of the old settling for a draw nonsense. Really odd refereeing decision thanks for nothing VAR.
Can relax watching this game.
Like seeing players belt out their anthems.

Lweji · 19/06/2018 14:55

Colombia isn't what it used to be. Neither is Japan. Well done them.

CardinalSin · 19/06/2018 21:32

Apparently, Jack Wheelchair is moving on...

BelfastBloke · 20/06/2018 10:34

I really wanted him to stay. How could his conversation with Dick emery have been definitive enough to make him bounce?

Senegal is the best-performing African nation so far.

I've just found you!

  1. I support Wolves (very excited fan!)
  2. Supporting England. If Netherlands had qualified I'd be supporting them too
  3. Loathe West Brom (natch!) and Arsenal.
  4. Neither of my DC follow football much to my regret though they were taught all the Wolves songs from a young age
  5. I cannot remember a season I have enjoyed more as a Wolves fan than 17/18. I am feeling very optimistic about our chances in the Premiership next season and have every faith in our fantastic manager
BitOutOfPractice · 20/06/2018 10:41

All the shots of the crowd are of low-cut tops on beautiful women

'Twas ever thus Belfast. For as a long as I can remember the vast majority of crowd shots have been of young women, not just this WC. If it weren't so cringey it'd be funny

Lweji · 20/06/2018 10:51

The other day I made a rough calculation of bombshell to other people shots. It was about 50-50. But, alas, no decent males. Sad
It's mostly children, or colourful fans.

BitOutOfPractice · 20/06/2018 10:56

Let's keep a proper tally tonight Lweji. Let's get scientific on this Grin

Man in ridiculous outfit

Lweji · 20/06/2018 10:59

I'm all for it. Grin

being a scientist and all

Lweji · 20/06/2018 11:01

Most people at work, though, will interrupt science between 1 and 3 pm. The game is showing on our main lecture theatre. Grin

I could probably recruit a few volunteers.

WestleyAndButtockUp · 20/06/2018 11:44

"Young woman

Man in ridiculous outfit
Other"

It can't be a drinking game for the 1pm match. It may be science, but could it also be Bingo?

Lweji · 20/06/2018 11:59

A friend told me that at her work, they're having a lunch thing... I suspect drinking will be involved.

But we don't need drinks to do research, just the rest. Wink

BitOutOfPractice · 20/06/2018 12:16

I wear glasses which makes me pretty much a scientist too.

I'm dry till Sunday's match so I might try it as a drinking game then too

LinoleumBlownapart · 20/06/2018 12:40

I've discovered a way to get the England matches on my computer at work. I needed to share this! I'm so excited. We have the days off on the days that Brazil is playing, so I don't feel bad about watching the England games, otherwise that would be double standards, right? Wink

Hopefully I can dip into the other games here and there, luckily I'm off this morning, so I can watch the Portugal v Morocco game.

Lweji · 20/06/2018 14:13

It's rather stressful. Morocco's colours are the same as Portugal's usual ones.

How they were going on the first half, they could well tie or win this game.

WestleyAndButtockUp · 20/06/2018 14:44

Ugh. Ronaldo. Diving bastard.

Lweji · 20/06/2018 14:49

Quite frankly, he should fall every time they go for his legs. Morocco have certainly done their best to hit him hard in the first half and France in the European Final did put him out.

WestleyAndButtockUp · 20/06/2018 14:51

DId you see Pepe fall over when someone patted him on the shoulder?

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 20/06/2018 14:54

Well done Portugal effective if lacklustre display.

Lweji · 20/06/2018 14:55

Yes, I did. I suspect that was to waste time.

They didn't play well. Morocco could easily have won.

Lweji · 20/06/2018 14:56

I'll have to leave research for the evening games, though. Work got in the way. :)

BitOutOfPractice · 20/06/2018 15:34

I didn't count officially but I did spot a shot of a man with a baby. Not sure how to classify that

ToffeeUp · 20/06/2018 16:53

Just got in, saw the last 5 minutes of Uru v Sau and noticed bore off Phil Neville doing the commentary.

Can't do much research, only have time to watch this second half and tonight's second half.
