Just a suggestion that rather than focus, the phone camera lens may need a clean….

It just needs pulling back away from the subject. Once you're too close and inside the minimum focussing distance there's nothing you can do to stop the blurring. Better to have the camera less close and crop, accepting some loss of detail from the crop.

Love how this has gone from spot squeezing to photography hints and tips , we're nothing if not diverse 🤣

Tamarindtree · 02/01/2023 12:26

An inventor could produce a device that could be held like a gun and a trigger pulled which would activate a fine needle/syringe that would penetrate a boil to draw up pus whilst the nozzle of the gun would cover the area and provide suction into a disposable chamber.

It could also play some rousing classical music such as -

I will take on board the comments re our photography skills 😎

It's still very painful, hot soak in the bath shortly and I may give it another go, may have to ask one of my DCs to assist with the camera, we might have more luck then haha

You need a very salty bath.

Bluetrews25 · 02/01/2023 12:47

Well, I left you on page 3 last night, and came back to see we were now on page 9. But STILL no relief!! It's like when that sneeze just won't come but you know it's there....

Wetblanket78 · 02/01/2023 13:31

Holding one cheek up.😂😂😂 I've had one on my ass so feel your pain.

Would a spud gun with a funnel over the barrel (to catch the splatter) suffice while we wait for the more sophisticated one to be built ?

Newwardrobe · 02/01/2023 13:47

Something like this

Boil on lower back

🤣🤣🤣

Something like this

Reverse the funnel so the wide-end acts as the 'catcher', and maybe something more sterile than a piece of potato as the projectile? (perhaps a captive bolt, unless that's too much No Country For Old Men).

Obviously I'd run the potato under the tap , I'm sure it'd be fine 😆

🤣🤣 a diagram on a sporner thread, mumsnet gold!!!

I think you should market it on Dragons Den, imagine the possibilities!!

Apologies for the lack of updates , have spent most of this afternoon in a and e with one of the dcs

DolphinWars · 02/01/2023 17:13

This is better than a live birth thread!

Hope the dc is ok 💐

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/01/2023 17:21

@KvotheTheBloodless a little soap and water never did anyone end harm. Grin

I hope everything is OK OP, A&E isn't fun.

bear1991 · 02/01/2023 17:21

Shamelessly placemarking. I bloody love this stuff.

GorgeousPizza · 02/01/2023 17:29

Well that’s one way to get sepsis! I get boils all the damn time it’s a nightmare but I’d never lance myself - always go to the doctors and get antibiotics!

Laurie000 · 02/01/2023 17:42

I treat external boils and abscesses with a tumeric paste (tumeric spice and water). Smear it on the boil and cover with gauze. Leave for about 30 minutes. It draws all the pus to the surface. This method has been an absolute lifesaver for me in the past.

AutisticLegoLover · 02/01/2023 17:44

You've got to wonder why some people come onto threads like these because they obviously aren't sporners Hmm

fancyacuppatea · 02/01/2023 17:46

Why didn't you drop your pants and ask a nurse to pop it while you were in A&E???

Ellenanora7 · 02/01/2023 17:49

Hope the DC are ok Bluey

And fair play for keeping us updated 🙂

Legallypinkish · 02/01/2023 17:53

Sarahcoggles · 01/01/2023 18:54

I'd put a needle in that

Me too!

FTHC · 02/01/2023 17:57

Definitely some magnesium sulphate on that after a nice hot bath.

Hope your little one is okay.

ShepherdMoons · 02/01/2023 18:03

could you try a warm compress? keep the area clean and I wouldn't pop it for the risk of infection.
