Did you film it because we are getting desperate in OP's absence! 😁

WinterFoxes · 02/01/2023 07:51

Please get antibiotics too. I had one like that before Christmas and started to feel really ill - massive stomach pains and bloatung and swollen lymph glands - the infection had spread to inner organs. Really horrible. Sporn away but also get antibiotics.

Us Sporners are a broad church. We welcome all. Well except for people who tell you to leave it alone and that nothing ever got better if you picked it.

Those bastards aren't welcome here. Grin

I see you have heard of the Way of Mrs Cosmopolite!

I used to get them a lot just used to squeeze it. Until I got a huge one on my ass. That was about the size of a golfball. I got antibiotics it burst the smell was horrendous. Had family members wanting to eye it up. A few handfuls of salt in the bath did help.

I had one like that during the first lockdown. I didn't go to the doctors (who could) and just let it go. I'm immunosuppressed, so it did its worst to me. I ended up really ill with it, my temperature was off the scale.

It burst in the end and my OH drained it, she was in heaven, as she's in to spots and boils. The smell and colour of the stuff coming out was hideous.

The relief was amazing, but there is nothing more awkward than someone rummaging around your butt crack.

That bad boy looks like it will hit the walls and ceiling .
You may have to redecorate. Do Farrow and Ball do a colour called "Sporner Yellow "?

Genius! 😂

Chickenvoicesinmyhead · 02/01/2023 08:14

Should I be worried that this thread was the first thing I thought about this morning ??

@Bluey2022 are you OK?

Looks better than yesterday @Bluey2022

More hot compresses I reckon and (hate to say it) don't squeeze it today.

Wheresthebeach · 02/01/2023 09:00

That does look better. Agree more hot compresses is the way to go

Bluey2022 · 02/01/2023 09:02

Already on the hot compresses, today has to be the day , I do not want to take it with me back into the office tommorow .

No squeezing today. You don't want inflammation or bruising- it gets in the way of the natural progress of the eruption!

When it is time, instead of squeezing pull the sides apart- like spreading the screen to enlarge. It produces the same effect as squeezing but without the risk of driving it deeper. It hurts less, too.

Cate0101 · 02/01/2023 09:06

I had one on my bum at the end of a skiing trip in the south island of NZ, and had to sit on a boring bus ride from Queenstown to Christchurch - six hours of holding one cheek up off the seat. In Christchurch we stayed in a hotel overnight before a flight to Sydney. I thought NO WAY am I going to deal with any more of this so I popped it in the bathroom of the hotel. It was ready.

Since when has talking boils been a fascinating topic of convo??

Bluey2022 · 02/01/2023 09:06

Ahhhhh, I am not sure I will be able to resist the urge !

Good tip about the pulling apart tho - have not heard or tried this before!

picklemewalnuts · 02/01/2023 09:07

Give it as long as you can bear!

Although, think of your audience, too. 😉

Gemmanorthdevon · 02/01/2023 09:12

Magnesium sulphate?

I've had boils and absesses most of my adult life in some horrible places. If one won't go and its super painful I'll pop some MS on the under a dressing. It's a "drawing" paste you can get from most chemists over the counter normally.. Brings it all up to the surface for it to burst on its own or make it a lot easier.

It's the pressure that's causing the pain. Good luck 😊

Bluey2022 · 02/01/2023 09:24

In the meantime, this reminded me of a lovely one I had after my C Section with DS on the back of my leg (I can still remember the pain of it now - I found some of the photos in case anyone would appreciate!)

Good luck op, agree with the gently pulling apart rather than squeezing when it's ready.

Spot popping is my hobby. I spend hours 😳watching it on YouTube,....

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/01/2023 09:47

Both your ex's and your photo skills need a lot of improvement! 😂

Newwardrobe · 02/01/2023 11:25

Thanks for the update Op , maybe get the photographer some lessons for their birthday 😊

I had one on the inside of the top of my thigh.

I couldn't see it but the pain.

I popped it too and the relief was unreal. Wish I'd seen it go though

Just a suggestion that rather than focus, the phone camera lens may need a clean….
