We really like going to Bolton Abbey in North Yorks - it's a really pretty country park, with lots of paths, stepping stones over a river, plenty of paddling spots, and I can take a portable bbq for a lovely lunch.
Cost parking and petrol and a disposable bbq, a few burgers, and buns - but a full day having fun and making memories is just the perfect day(s) out over the summer

The Sustrans solar system bike ride in York is great we park at the park and ride unload the bikes and then it’s a fantastic free ride past models of all the planets and the sun.

We would LOVE to visit Scotland. Never been and it just looks so beautiful!

BeeMyBaby · 26/05/2026 21:13

We are looking forward to having a lovely picnic at the botanics with all my childrens cousins and going for walks along the riverside.

TheBlueArsedFly · 26/05/2026 21:25

Our favourite hot day out is at oddicimbe beach in Devon. There's a cliff railway and a great beach cafe. It's a brilliant beach for swimming and snorkeling and there's paddle boards and pedaloes to hire. We finish the day with fish and chips on the Downs above, admiring the panorama of red cliffs and turquoise sea below.

NotAChanceIn · 26/05/2026 21:28

We love heading to the coast for the day. We pack buckets, buy some smoky bacon, and get crab nets at the seaside. Me and my 13 year old can spend hours just sat on the harbour wall scooping up crabs and nattering about life. We usually round off with an ice cream and mooch into the arcades. It's fab and just such a nice distraction where we both put our phones away and talk about anything and everything. We've done it twice so far this year and will get in some more yet.

A train ride to Whitby - a town my children love, a pretty beach, a small fairground, the atmospheric abbey, and fish and chips - I went there as a child and now take my children, it is the prettiest of towns and had not changed, which is something I want to continue.

Fly to a beautiful beach in Spain. I have a wonderful flowing dress on that glides along with the sea breeze. My kids are working together to sandcastles whilst authentic Spanish music plays. There's no need to worry about dinner as a Spanish tapas bar is by the beach. The day is glorious.

@CakeDream This sounds like the ultimate spring/summer escape ☀️🌊 We’d definitely be packing colourful swimwear for sandy beach days and seaside adventures in Spain 😊

We love going to the beach. We are very lucky where we live that there are plenty of beaches not far from us! We’ll be taking a picnic with us and buying ice creams there.

CakeDream · 27/05/2026 12:08

@BodenStylistThat rainbow swimsuit is beautiful. I love the size range too. I can always count on Boden for vibrant colours they bring out such a summer holiday vibe in us all.

On one day every year we go to Corfe Castle in Dorset.

Then we catch the steam train very close by into Swanage.

Here we spend time on the beach wander the pier, the town, or the low cliffs behind the beach.

There's often a Punch and Judy show on the beach too.

We’re planning a trip to the Cotswolds with our two boys (13 and 14) this spring and can’t wait. The plan is lots of exploring, long countryside walks, cosy pubs and hopefully a bit of sunshine!

@LittleCottage77 The Cotswolds in spring is hard to beat 🌿 For your boys we’d definitely be packing easy layers for countryside exploring and cosy pub lunches 😊

Going to a beach with lots of sand dunes, endless fun to be had racing up and down! Also take a kite. Leave frozen bottles of water in a cool bag in the car, then you have a nice cold drink when you get back.

yasmin0147 · 27/05/2026 20:08

Brighton is my family holiday spot it has everything from a beach to a sealife centre

IWasThere4Aug12 · 27/05/2026 20:39

I’d love to take my boys to Whitby-I used to go as a child but we’ve moved away. It has a great combination of beach, abbey, shops and great fish and chips

Wallaroo21 · 27/05/2026 21:31

A Trip to West Whittering beach is our wholesome family day of choice. Fish and chips on the beach and a paddle in the sea. What a dream!

prettypeace · 27/05/2026 22:29

We're off to he Forbidden Corner near Leyburn in North Yorkshire. It's the most amazing place to spend the day - there's nowhere like it. Highly recommended!

AnotherSchoolRunMum · 28/05/2026 13:44

Strawberry picking this June 🍓 and a trip to pick-your-own sunflowers in August 🌻. I always dress the kids up to get some lovely photos while it's (hopefully!) nice weather so I'd love to win the Boden voucher! 😄🌞

I would love to do something like this. Not many natural springs in london sadly.

Edited

Highgate Ladies pond is built on a natural spring.

Nsmum14 · 29/05/2026 17:24

We love hillwalking! The whole family including the kids. We chose child friendly hills like Ben A'an, have been a few times, with kids as young as 4 walking along. Lots of fun and very satisfying! Treats needed for encouragement.

E2026 · 29/05/2026 22:12

We love going to Matlock Bath. Our daughter loves the arcades, playing on the park, having a chip shop tea and listening/looking at all the motorbikes parking up.

MayCottage · 30/05/2026 19:14

✨ My dream family holiday would be a sunshine-filled adventure in Greece with my two boys, aged 6 and 9! ☀️🇬🇷
We'd spend our days exploring hidden beaches, splashing in crystal-clear water, enjoying long evening walks along the harbour, and eating ice cream while watching the sunset. 🍦🌅
The boys would love boat trips and discovering little coves, while I'd love those relaxed family moments with no rushing, just making memories together. 🛥️💙
And of course, I'd be packing a suitcase full of handmade outfits I've sewn myself 🪡✨— light dresses, matching shirts for the boys, and plenty of colourful holiday clothes ready for all our adventures! 🌸👕☀️

Wimbledon Park. A great park any time but even more when they have the spray fountains in the paddliing pool on.

buckleycat1983 · 30/05/2026 23:32

We love a garden camp out - it feels like a holiday without leaving home! The challenge is to see how long you can stay outside in the garden for - although toilet trips are allowed, everything else has to be outside - cooking, playing, reading, assault courses, a long walk.. anything goes as long as you're not going back indoors. We bring games out & have a fire when it gets dark. No devices - they call them time thieves for a reason!! Everyone seems to chill out a little with no screens around (adults very much included!)

KrillBrill · 30/05/2026 23:43

Camping and beach days, so lucky that the good weather fell on half term! 🎉
