We always take the Gdcs to Bocketts Farm Park (Surrey) - they love it - but it’ll have to wait until the summer hols now, since they’re away for half term. At Easter they adored the lambing shed - lots of new babies! And so much else to do.

We are planning on going camping near the beach. We will take a picnic for lunch and fish and chips on the sand for tea

@P3ngu1n3 This sounds like the dream spring day 🌼Our towelling sets would be perfect for beach camping adventures like this - especially for sandy fish & chip evenings!

I’m going to the Cotswolds with my friend’s daughter (my goddaughter) for her birthday. So excited to get out of London, smell the fresh air, explore villages and drink endless tea and scones. And the weather is PERFECT this weekend. These really are the moments I’ll cherish.

@Cradlemadle This sounds absolutely dreamy 🌸 We have plenty of pretty party dresses for the birthday girl and little guests alike 💛

We’re planning a trip to the Cotswolds with our two boys (13 and 14) this spring and can’t wait. The plan is lots of exploring, long countryside walks, cosy pubs and hopefully a bit of sunshine!

Twinkletots1 · 21/05/2026 15:50

We have lots of fourth birthday parties over summer! Also some long UK staycation weekends with hopefully beach, parks etc.

ThatBeachLyfe · 21/05/2026 15:53

So up for this sunny bank hol! We're planning on camping in the garden this weekend to try it out before trying an actual campsite in the summer. That way, if it goes wrong (or if the tent is mouldy and moth eaten - it's been awhile...) we can move inside for comfy beds and coffee! Also can't beat a day at the beach - West Wittering for us - for a dreamy family day out. My two boys 3 and 6 need space to burn energy and roll around and being at the beach dulls the sound of their shrieking and dinosaur roaring. Taking a picnic and some beach toys, with wine for us, followed by chips on the beach later on is a pretty perfect day for us.

Ipsevenenabibas · 21/05/2026 15:53

We are going to the Peak District. Have booked some river tubing and the heights of Abraham so far! I'm sure we will do lots of walking too. Very excited as we have never been before and it's been on my list of places to go for a while!

JacCharlton · 22/05/2026 09:20

One of our favourite low-cost family days out in and around West Yorkshire is jumping in the car with a picnic and seeing where the sunshine takes us. My children (and sometimes a friend in tow) love anything outdoors, especially when there’s space to run, climb and explore.
Our perfect spring day would start with a walk around Temple Newsam — visiting the farm, spotting the animals and wearing the kids out in the park before finding a sunny spot for lunch. Afterwards we’d head for cake and a wander through the village at Haworth - trying for a bit of culture and history, followed by an ice cream while exploring the cobbled streets and countryside views.
If we really wanted to treat ourselves, our dream family day would be a spontaneous train trip to the coast (by train if we get a family ticket) — buckets and spades, fish and chips, and the kids paddling in the sea until they’re exhausted on the journey home.
The best family days for us are always the simple ones: lots of laughs, muddy trainers, fresh air and making memories together without needing to spend loads.

junkoenoshima · 22/05/2026 09:52

Anywhere where we can take a blow up boat, a slow flowing river to paddle and splash, and where my two can spend a couple of hours in the car without arguing and falling out over the slightest thing.
Shorts, jelly sandals, spare clothes, a picnic, my foldaway deckchair watching them in the river playing would be a dreamy day for us.

We are planning a visit to Sea Life and if possible this summer a trip out to Lego Land.

@AR2012 This sounds like such a fun summer lined up 🐠🎢 We have some great under-the-sea inspired graphic tees that would be perfect for the aquarium trip 😊

Vintage Wash Graphic T-shirt-ORANGE SHARKS

Minis will want to snap up this pure cotton T-shirt at once. Why? Well, it's jaw-some of course thanks to the bold shark motifs. It will also feel soft on their skin and it has a vintage wash and ribbed neckline to add some fuzzy nostalgic touches.

We've jut been hiking in the hills and love a beach day hiding in the dunes. Anything we can all get away from technology and have some good clean air.

chocomoccalocca · 22/05/2026 18:55

We are lucky enough to live near Duxford and have membership to go to the museum on a regular basis. We often go with a packed lunch and spend time on the play area followed by a wonder to the hangars. They always have an activity on on the holidays and rh kids love getting involved. Of course an ice cream is needed to finish any visit !!

Hotandpointy · 22/05/2026 20:08

Planning to cycle with DS to our nearest National Trust site for some fun and ice cream.

rhabarbarmarmelade · 22/05/2026 22:58

We love day trips to the nearby coast or castles. Always by train or bus, as we don't have a car. Also local parks and canals for walks and picnics

greensauna · 22/05/2026 23:04

Kayaking and swimming in the Lake District. With a homemade picnic and flask of tea.

MamaNewtNewt · 23/05/2026 15:23

My favourite recent day out was to Ilkley Lido where we swam in the outdoor pool and had a picnic. The water was freezing, but lovely once in, and the kids had a fabulous time in the fountain.

MrsBird03 · 23/05/2026 23:13

Our favourite day out at the moment is a packed lunch and a trip to our local lake to go crabbing. Catching and setting them free, followed by an ice cream and let off steam at the local park.

MumC2141 · Yesterday 20:00

Theme parks. The kids love Legoland and Chessington so we’re making the most of an annual Merlin pass.

GivingUpFinally · Yesterday 21:41

We're doing a day trip to the Isle of Wight- driving to Southsea and then hoping on to a hovercraft which will take us into Ryde. From there we will use the bus to get us to Robin Hill adventure park. Day of exploring and enjoying the attractions. Will have a massive picnic and definitely be getting ice creams.
