Let us know how it goes. The Guardian insert on ASD yesterday cited a Uni of Birmingham study showing that the number of statements issues for SEN in general has fallen since 2001, despite the increase in dx of ASD (to name one).
The insert was sponsored by a new thing (new to me at least), the Autism Education Trust www.autismeducationtrust.org.uk/
No time to check the website, but will do later - perhaps some useful info/support there?

bubblagirl · 20/05/2009 14:30

thanks for that sc13 will read when ds in bed

yes get the ball rolling now and start getting all the help you can for all of you he'll obviously benefit so much more now you know what your fighting against

and this of course will be a strong factor for your statement as you can appeal it on the new info given if it doesn't appear to fit his needs

any news phoenix?
meeting went well although bit disappointed with level of help he may get but guess as its ms its about right

but lets see what new statement offers when its revised

any luck with sleep at all? is it working?

OP posts:

nothing came today ,and its the 21st .So I called them and asked and pointed out was told it was going out Monday , turns out the had a hitch was waiting on funding levels so shes told me yet again its gone out today last bloody day they could send it to.

Have they identified who the support ta would be ,any chance to ask what kind of training they have?.How much experiance has the schoolgot with asd .

And so far itgs a no on the sleep goes down fine but is still waking around 12 for hr or so then wakes up properly anything between 3 and 4 am

bubblagirl · 21/05/2009 17:44

well bubbla boy is still waking in night too but having him go down ok is making a difference for having time to myself

maybe if you can get to see your paed they may even up the dose and may work better

they better not have dated your letter from monday's date check that when it comes as you get 14 days from date of letter to appeal

lets hope you can see if you can get the sleep issue sorted out its so tiring isnt it

bubbla boy has just gone through another phase of waking at 12 then 2 and wanting to get up at 3 or 4

luckily yesterday was 5 and today was 4.45 without the 2 o clock wake

the melatonin is a godsend though as he wasn't sleeping until 3 now i can have him in bed for 7 and i get to read in peace

xx

fingers crossed for tomorrow for you

haven't said what support or who will be giving it as yet maybe there waiting for the statement also they have 13 children with sn 6 of whom have autism so he says teachers have good insight

but my friends ds goes there and hasnt been too happy of late so im tiny bit worried on taking there word without it being in the statement

HelensMelons · 21/05/2009 18:09
