a- an environment where visual support is used consistently and effectively to aid understanding and to encourage independent participation
b- strategies developed jointly between SALT and teaching staff for classroom management of his communication needs, these targets will be implemented across the curriculum as part of daily routine
c- use of simple language and direct instructions of no more than 3 key words with adults using his name first in order to ensure his attention is gained before he is given instructions to follow
d- his understanding of concepts and vocab to be developed through rl experiences and within variety of contexts
e- encouragement to use timetable interactively in order to maximise independence
f- all adults in environment to provide opportunities for him to develop his functional communication skills in range of contexts
g- exposure to language that relates to what he is seeing and experiencing through out his day
h- adults repeating back his sentences in order to model specific vocab and the correct grammatical structure
i- visual cues and picture to support his learning at school, particularly when he is tired and an environment in which both adult and children are able to communicate with him through the use of gesture and simple signs
j- peers who can provide god language models and opportunities for small group and individual work on regular basis
