Missed you all. Been a bit distracted by life (you know how it is!) but back now. And shall we organise a meet-up? How is June looking for everybody?

Mrs F....Hubby reckons it would be a real "Thelma and Louise" experience if I drove us down to the smoke!!!!!
Are up up for it??????

TheRealMrsF · 06/04/2005 17:56

i did an 'AA' route planner to peterborough ....and it calculates from me to CT as being 2hr47mins!!!Haven't done the peterborough to brighton/london stint yet.
TBH...i better be honest now...i am not a great car journey person...so i won't commit to anything yet- but- i love train journeys......woooooo woooooooo!

What about (attempts to be decisive) a weekend meet-up in London? Dh is interested in a daytrip there anyway and we could meet up with the rest of you there?

JakB · 06/04/2005 18:52

Yep, think you're right CT. A Saturday WITHOUT children? Would this happen?!!!!!!!!

ps Davros, I grew up within walking distance of Wigan Casino! My dh (coincidentally born in Wigan) is a big soul fan and is the youngest person in the northern room when we go on soul weekenders!

If it's on a weekday then it's possible that dh won't be able to book time off work so if I come it may well be in the company of ds1 and ds2. If it's a Saturday dh will probably hang around long enough to make sure you haven't all got axes hidden in your handbags and then take ds1 and ds2 to have a look round London.

I'm hopeless at making decisions. Anyone have a preference for day/time/place?

I would love to go to Brigton though. I can go to London anytime!!!!

Davros · 06/04/2005 21:52

Oooer, I'm as confused as everyone else. I was lurking as there is NO WAY I could do Brighton on a weekend and I didn't want to be a dampener. I just don't know what to suggest. London would be better for me me me me me and weekends are difficult as DS goes to Saturday morning club, I collect him and take him horseriding, so its a busier day than normal. I Am the organising frog but I'm defeated
So we need the verdicchio........
JakB, I used to go to Northern Soul All Nighters at the 100 Club (where Shane MacGowan of the Pogues did the cloakroom ho ho).

coppertop · 06/04/2005 22:11

I think'll it be easier if I just give Brighton a miss and then catch up with you all next time you have a London meet-up if possible.

One of these days I'll make it to a meet-up.

Jayzmummy · 06/04/2005 22:42

I want to meet up with you all one day......Devon is just so far far away!!!!!

JakB · 07/04/2005 08:43

Davros, how marvellous! Will tell dh. Are you still into northern soul? DH collects soul records (modern and crossover too) and does some great CDs. Will send you some, if you fancy.
I think we're going to have to go back to plan A- classic meet-up in London in the day in the week?

Davros · 08/04/2005 11:48

Love some CDs. Used to go mostly for the late bar but loved the music and "scene" too.
So, what the story in buggermorey? Where and when is the meet up?

Blossomhill · 08/04/2005 11:50

We have to sort something out

TheRealMrsF · 08/04/2005 11:56

what about LEGOLAND windsor????

Davros · 08/04/2005 11:57

Personally I would rather be shot from a cannon than attempt Legoland, but don't let that put you off

coppertop · 08/04/2005 12:01

What about from a cannon made from Lego?

I warned you all that I have absolutely no decision-making abilities - so it's comforting to see that this thread is almost 100 posts long and no-one's decided on either a time or a place.

Davros · 08/04/2005 12:09

Would it be all bumpy inside? I might like that!

TheRealMrsF · 08/04/2005 13:33

(is this getting rude....or is this just me.....)

heartinthecountry · 08/04/2005 13:36

Davros Think about the friction burns when you got fired out!

So what are the options?

  1. Brighton on a weekend, with families if wanted
  2. London during the week, the usual
  3. Legoland inside a bumpy canon

Shall we do a show of hands and go with the majority?

I could do either 1 or 2

(So that really helps decision making )

coppertop · 08/04/2005 13:36

I don't know what you mean, MrsF!
