Had a touch of the jealous green monster today :(

Beautiful day today, not a cloud in the sky. Perfect spring day. We had friends over for dinner last night - it was lovely, but dh and I are feeling jaded and I had rotten night with ds2 who has terrible cold/virus. Turned into bed at 1.30am - woken up by ds1 who had wet his bed at 2.15am - back to sleep to be woken up by ds2 at 3.15am (who then didnt go back to sleep until 6am ) I then slept until 11am, courtesy of dh giving me a lie in. Why, oh why, do we always burn the candle at both ends? We so rarely have friends round, but when we do look what happens!!

Anyway, shock off the jaded feel - went to a National Trust Property - ds1 moaned that it was boring (admittedly they had roped off all the fun grassy slopes that 8 year olds like to run down), ds2 (fast asleep in buggy - now he sleeps!!) and we were surrounded by loads of `perfect' famillies out with their NT 18mth darlings, walking, pointing, babbling etc. etc. Everywhere we looked!! Am I really a terrible person/jealous cow. I don't begrudge other people there healthy little darlings, but by God life sometimes seems so unfair....

Sorry to sound off, but I thought I'd get that out of my system before I went to bed

Socci, I hope she got mince meat made of her!!! I must be completely barking then.. bf DS2 until he was 2! (He wouldn't stop, the little sod!)

hunkermunker · 29/03/2005 00:25

Socci - lemme at 'em!

MD, thought you'd like that ad - it made me cringe when I saw it ("Want to find out more about breastfeeding? Come to Gow & Gate" - er, I don't think so!)

SJ, love the reply - just got sidetracked by the thread - how many times can one woman say 'well paid job' in one post - pmsl!

what are they on??????

moondog · 29/03/2005 00:33

NOW you tell me sj!!
I was looking in some parking thing. God, it's all a bit complicated isn't it, all those pictures and charts and what have you?Takes ages to come up too.
Must say, I prefer the more cerebral text dense MN approach.
I'll give it a whirl tomorrow, although if I get sucked into another site, the last pitiful vestiges of my RL will disappear into the ether....

SleepyJess · 29/03/2005 00:34

I am searching for the ugly babies thread.. you people just HAVE to read it..

hunkermunker · 29/03/2005 00:35

I hate to say I told you so, JM, but...I told you you'd regret it - still, at least there's a place for vile women on the www (In case some of the women from my antenatal club see this post - NOT YOU!)

moondog · 29/03/2005 00:35

Can you do us a direst link then sj?

hunkermunker · 29/03/2005 00:35

Is it the boared (sic) by toddlers thread?

SleepyJess · 29/03/2005 00:38

And there was a CLASSIC the other day where someone titled a post something like "Woman beating child round head in Woolworths.. is this alright?" (Err hello!!!!)

SJ x

PS Moondog, sorry.. it's all very primitive on there isn't it..

hunkermunker · 29/03/2005 00:38

hunkermunker · 29/03/2005 00:39

SleepyJess · 29/03/2005 00:39

Yes hunker that's the one! I can't find it!! Can YOU link then? I need to make a very short, to the point reply.. (belatedly)

SleepyJess · 29/03/2005 00:39

LOL cheers.

hunkermunker · 29/03/2005 00:39

I am link queen (and also hoping like anything I'm not pissing Merlot off by totally hijacking her thread!)

SleepyJess · 29/03/2005 00:41

LOL.. I got 'told off' by Angie on that Woolies one.. but I wasn't in a mood to suffer fools gladly that day.. and it just seemed SUCH a silly title!

And AArrghh! re "Am I right, Kerrie hun?"

SleepyJess · 29/03/2005 00:42

It was my fault! Sorry Merlot!!!
