It’s really hard because all his hospital appointments are reviews of how he will continue to be. So I’m always super positive and so are his consultants so his clinic letters will say mom reports he is doing really well etc which he is doing so well. But then it becomes hard to evidence the struggles, but when you have 20 appointments a year and have done for 11 years you’re not gonna go into every one complaining about the exsisting problems. This is our life we know no different now, but it doesn’t mean the struggles ain’t there. & it’s my own fault because we had Dla from 11 years and we all no how gut wrenching and mentally draining the forms are I wrote “same as previous claim” on a lot of answers. They did tell me on the phone even though it was a renewal you have to treat it as a new claim. @s39

s39 · 31/05/2025 08:37

yes I totally understand what your trying to say you would think a DM would look at previous evidence and make decision based on that too! really hope you get a positive outcome with the MR hopefully will start to move a little faster and you won’t have much longer to way x

@Judgejudysno1fan literally a new week each Monday. Did you have a lot of evidence? I could only give what I had! Forever doubting myself but I did give his Sen profile from school also! Frustrating that it takes so long and makes us second guess!

The only evidence I had were diagnosis letters from the hospital stating her condition and her hospital stays and treatment etc. Its lifelong and affects her everyday. Its a disease and a horrible one too. I also wrote a statement but my health visitor said to describe her worst day which we did. I have a horrible feeling we will be declined. Even though its forever she will have this. She's suffered tremendously since a baby, blood loss, weak, weight loss, pale, shaking and in pain. Can't walk long distances as have to sit down, diarrhoea explosions with blood and mucus day and night. Its been horrible. This will help a lot.

Has anyone ever sent blue badge and access card as evidence? I’ve sent a lot of evidence already ehcp, paediatrician report with asd diagnosis, educational psychologist, bowel and bladder, preschool reports, IEP, cardiology, musculoskeletal report, SALT, 27 page stating HRM under SMI rules which is found throughout all the reports and COC form. I’m just wondering if either of these will help.

No it’s usually different criteria blue badge xx my son has one and access card and he not entitled to hrm

it’s more you have to meet every point of the smi criteria xx

Sausagedogtoddles · 31/05/2025 11:51

@Kelz23 I'm so worried I haven't sent enough evidence and keep questioning myself. I hate the waiting game. I called yesterday the women I spoke to was so blunt and said don't ring till the 25 weeks point and basically saying people are lying they are only working on January dates but clearly people are being awarded February.

Thank you lovely, I know the coc takes forever so I’m sending in evidence as and when I get them but I don’t want to over send things and them not read the important reports. I think I’ve done enough for hrm under smi but I know how hard it is to get too 😵‍💫

I don’t understand why they talk to people the way they do, of course you want update when your seeing all these feb dates being done. It’s driving me mad and I’m a few weeks after you xx

Did you cross reference everything, in the reports, so easier for them to see? X

Sausagedogtoddles · 31/05/2025 11:59

@megan345 I sent through, school reports, teaching advisory assessment, report from health visitor and awaiting ehcp letter. I do have more if they want it as this waiting game has accumulated more assessments.

Sausagedogtoddles · 31/05/2025 12:03

@Kelz23 I just want to know if it's a yes or no, people are just rude and I bet most of these call handlers don't have a child with additional needs that desperately need the extra help and support.

100% agree, i’ve only ever encountered about 3 nice call handlers, they don’t understand how hard it is mentally doing the forms & waiting as well!

i’m 26 weeks now waiting for my coc and because i knew it should have been done by 25 weeks it’s all i can think about now😫xx
