I’m trying to get HRM under smi too, what evidence have you sent in?

I sent EHCP, SALT, 1-2-1 sessions with Autism Team, Nursery SENCO report, Letter from nursery which I used to get Blue badge. SCERTS assessment, paediatrician report with diagnosis & 15 page statement referencing each point for SMI and examples or her behaviour. Behavioural Report from nursery, melatonin prescription, all appointments she’s ever had. The only thing I didn’t send was psychiatrist report as I’ve not got that back yet. I was up till 5am worrying it was not enough so wrote additional statement and sent that today.

@Katiie13x didn't get anywhere, I explained what had happened been told it with a decision maker twice then it's not. She just said sometimes it shows it with a DM and then sometimes it doesn't so she just said it doesn't show a decision has been made 🤷 and just said same I'm on week 16 so still have a while for a decision to be made x

Katiie13x · 04/06/2025 10:28

@Mum2allgirls how frustrating! Was really hoping they was going to tell you a decision had been made already, hopefully this week 🙏 this part of the wait is definitely the worse in my opinion xx

Mum2allgirls · 04/06/2025 10:29

@Katiie13x just frustrating when told different things constantly 😫 x

How old is your child? My daughter is 4 and in preschool still I wondered if they would use that against my claim for smi. Did you send in a copy of blue badge? I’ve sent her ehcp, educational psychologist report, community paediatrician report with asd diagnosis on it, bowel and bladder report, cardiology referral, SALT report, preschool reports stating she has full time 1-1, IEP, 27 page statement for smi and musculoskeletal report.

Gemini000 · 04/06/2025 10:31

i asked them over the phone and they said Blue badge is not evidence. But I mentioned it in the report and gave a letter from the nursery that supported my blue badge application.

my daughter will be 4 in 3 weeks and attends preschool aswell. nursery have been amazing and it’s writing supported statements! My daughter is non verbal and has GDD aswell

I think we have both sent a lot of information so hopefully we will be okay. It seems like it’s so hard but I will take it tribunal if not. I was awarded HRC with none of that evidence just by my statement so all that evidence and diagnosis was sent for MR.

hopefully not long left for a decision!

Yeah I rang at 9 and was told the same thing working on 22nd November. Was told to call back next week to see where we are with dates. Was told should have a decision within the next week or 2. Sent final evidence of EHCP today so kind of grateful for the delay. Even though it’s stressing me MR 03/12 originally awarded HRC but trying to get HRM under SMI SO FINGERS CROSSED X Hope you hear something soon x

I’m trying to do the exact same, we got HRC but fighting for the HRM too due to her having no danger awareness, hitting herself throwing things in the road etc.. it’s such a waiting game it’s literally giving me anxiety especially not knowing if she will be awarded it or not then having to go tribunal with another long wait! I hope you hear something back soon aswell it is draining. Fingers crossed for us 🤞🏼 x

Definitely it shows how fast things can change, so happy your sorted now and the wait is over has it’s absolutely awful wait x

Mum2allgirls · 04/06/2025 10:39

Can I just ask everyone who calls what option you pick. As I've seen a few on FB telling people to call back and pick option 4 ( on the last option instead of 2 ) is that just for when be awarded ?

Londongirl8922 · 04/06/2025 10:42

I’ve just had a letter come this morning that confirms we have been referred to occupational therapy to help with my little boys sensory difficulties can I use that as evidence, it says I’ve got to basically do strategies with him for 12 weeks that they have advise us to do and if he still has the difficulties then to ring them and arrange for a occupational therapist to call me to discuss concerns and decide if any further advise or assessments is needed

im not supposed to be ringing i promised myself i would stop!

Congrats to all you lovely ladies who’ve got their award today!
I rang yesterday (MR November, don’t have exact scan date), got a young man who was slurping his drink and could hear him vaping whilst on the phone to me. He had his tv blaring in the background. I understand they work from home mostly (my best friend is a DM for PIP) but the lack of professionalism did give me a giggle. Rather have him than someone uptight. He said it’s with decision maker but that was about it!

had anybody had a successful MR? As I’m prepared to escalate to tribunal expecting a decline

Ohhhh bless you. My daughter sounds exactly the same. it’s sooooo long and my anxiety has been through the roof hence why I was up writing another statement all night!

I hope it’s not much longer for us! You would thing MR would be quicker than new claims. The process is long and I hope we don’t need to go tribunal. Hopefully we have done enough.

your the 2/12 ain’t ya?
