Just about to go and eat but thought I'd start us off.

Not a good few days - DBoyfriend was rushed into hospital last night with a severe kidney infection. I know he's in the best place but I usually chat to him at night on Facebook, so I'm lonely, first night we've not done so in 6 months :(

Uni got VERY stressful, but has calmed down now.

And I got cuddles from friend's 8mo DS, and got to take him to softplay. Was good fun - although tricky for us to climb in with him. I remember it being so much easier. He has an obsession with my glasses now. Oh, and trying to eat my acrylic nails...

Hope everyone is OK :)

Hi Lolli

Mixed week here. Wasn't feeling great at the beginning, but bit better again now.

DS have completely overcome a bad phobia of bouncy castles. He had a fab time on loads of them last weekend Grin.

DD told us she got Star of the Week for the 3rd time this year, last week, but she doesn't know why. She's NT too Hmm. It's unusual to get it 3 times in a year.

I've been shopping today and got a couple of real bargains Grin Grin.

Thanks for the wine and nibbles.

creatovator · 04/05/2012 18:21

Unchartered what's the dx?

Lolli Hope your DB feels better soon and glad you got through your Uni stress.

UnChartered · 04/05/2012 18:23

miniUnChartered has ASD

still waiting for the results of the Sensory Screening thingy, but likely SPD too

what did you buy, creator?

insanityscratching · 04/05/2012 18:28

Hello all, ouch Lolli kidney infections are really painful hope he's feeling better soon.
Do you feel different now you are bone fide Unchartered? Hope you are being kind to yourself, diagnosis doestend to knock the wind from your sails IME
Oh well done to your dd create even if she can't remember why Grin What bargains did you find? I haven't been shopping in ages.
Funny week here dd has been on a residential so we've all missed her a lot. She's home filthy and exhausted but very happy. Ds has been great, I'm looking forward to a long weekend catching up on the washing I suppose.

bigbluebus · 04/05/2012 18:29

I'm not a regular on the Friday night thread either, so good evening to you all!!
Had DS's parents evening on Monday which went better than expected!!!
Has been a stressful week though as he has end of year (10) exams which are really mocks for the GCSE exams he has starting later in the month. So lots of shouting over revision!!!!
Seem to be forever chasing up things for DD this week though - hearing aid which broke in March hadn't been returned - but miraculously has came back today after a chase up phone call yesterday, trying to find nappies that fit her as the ones the PCT supply are too small and the next size up too big!!! also got sent 2 mic-key buttons by mistake today, so had to ring them and arrange to return one and ask them to b***k the courier who delivered them next door as I was out, but didn't put a card through my door to let me know. Also been waiting 8 months for a pair of specially made boots for her which have still not arrived - she has been wearing slippers all this time and lastly trying to sort something out with a government dept who want DD to sign a document - even though she can't hold a pen and has no mental capacity to understand what she is signing!!! Just an average week for most of us SN parents really!!!
Will be opening Wine later, got some cooking to do first as friends coming for dinner tomorrow.
Hope you all have a relaxing Bank Holiday weekend.

Galena · 04/05/2012 18:31

Can I sneak in too (despite being away for months and months...)?

Busy, busy week! Suddenly realised that in 18 months DD will start school so I ought to have a plan so that I know which schools will cope with her CP. I had a clear plan in my mind. Of the local schools, I really wanted A, would cope with C and really didn't want B. Since phoning and visiting, I now really want B, haven't yet visited C so will withhold judgement for now, and really don't like A.

We're also trying to start the process to get DD more support at playgroup (after an interesting physio visit where I saw things through her eyes and realised why she looked so horrified on behalf of my DD!)...

I'm feeling much happier now that I've got some things sorted in my mind though.

However, I do need Wine because with her third birthday, DD has discovered adolescence!

UnChartered · 04/05/2012 18:39

i'm just starting to feel the relief i think, insanity

the relief that i'm not neurotic, the relief we don't have to keep anymore diaries is the best one!

i still keep expecting a call from the Psych to say 'erm, actually we got the wrong DC, can you come back for another round of assessments please'

i'm looking forward to getting all our lives on track

2old2beamum · 04/05/2012 19:02

WineWineWine Good week DS did a 5 hr journey to Manchester Cochlea
Implant Centre appt went well and then travelled 6hrs home (traffic) without
screaming and no sedation Grin over 2 days.
DD2 has been picked to represent her day services to go to Sandringham for a garden party with the Queen, she is over the moon (not the queen)

Triggles · 04/05/2012 19:04

Well, unfortunately it's been a shit week here, and utterly shitty day as well.

and no wine in the house... can you believe it? I bought a bottle especially for the weekend earlier in the week, but DH opened it and poured us wine the other night. I was irritated as I was saving it for this weekend (while he's out of town), but at that point, what was I supposed to do? If I'd complained, we'd have ended up rowing. If I poured it back in the bottle (was tempted, mind you!! Grin) it would've looked childish.

Now I have both boys for the weekend, with no assistance from DH (and I'm just wretched enough right now to think that's not much new anyway), and no bloody wine. Angry

So for the love of God, anyone that has wine, drink a glass for me PLEASE!! I'm hoping I can absorb it through the thread....

I'm avoiding most threads today, as I don't want to react negatively when I'm feeling rather down. And I am avoiding AIBU like the PLAGUE!! I tend to get into trouble over there when I'm aggravated. Grin

SallyBear · 04/05/2012 19:08

Add a bizarre week here. Littlest DS has been ill all week, and I am convinced that even though he had chickenpox at 4mos, I reckon that he had the tail end of the virus as he has been really poorly. Not great when you're deaf, ASD and cant speak. Then I met cupoftea's Beatrice, which was lovely and had the direct contrast of little Bea with a life limiting condition compared to my 95yr old Grandad who was rushed into Hospital with some internal bleeding. So I've been up and down the M40 all week, knackered now.

My good news is fourfold. 1, my new Motability Car is ready to collect next week!!! Grin, 2, my friend who was told she couldn't have anymore babies, is pregnant!, 3, a friend's toddler who has very poor muscle tone took his first steps this morning and finally another friend has been re-elected as a local councillor a job he does really well!

So lots of positive stuff to celebrate. Now is there any Wine and nibbles left??

Galena · 04/05/2012 19:09

Triggles, I have a spare little bottle of white wine - have you managed to develop that matter transporter yet? (Or are you close to Cheltenham?)

UnChartered · 04/05/2012 19:09

the queen should be over the moon 2old Wink it's not everyone who gets to meet your DD Wink

glad the implant went well

Triggles · 04/05/2012 19:14

Galena, oddly enough I AM in Cheltenham. Grin lol How funny is that?

Galena · 04/05/2012 19:15

Lol, well I'm happy to deliver emergency wine rations - but it would have to wait until our takeaway has been delivered and consumed...

Triggles · 04/05/2012 19:16

Unchartered - I do enjoy that, to a point... but then I happen to spot some idiotic thread about disabilities and wade into the fray. Grin

At least DS3 is asleep, and DS2 is playing on his DS at the moment. So I'll chance a cup of tea soon. Grin

Triggles · 04/05/2012 19:18

hahahahaha

Galena - that's really nice of you, but I wouldn't ask that of anyone. I appreciate the offer though. Enjoy your takeaway and wine. Grin

signandsmile · 04/05/2012 19:19

Hi everyone, sorry the week has been so crappy triggles, 2old and create congrats to your dcs, (ds go a head teachers award this week too, for sitting nicely in assembly.) Grin

week has been hectic and incredibly snotty, Grin but ds coped ok with the school being shut, (due to ceiling down as some git had stolen the lead and all the rain came in Shock)

laminate floor is down, walls are painted, and furniture is moved, so we are happy happy bunnies, or rather I am, Grin.

Hoping for a quiet weekend, as college (my PGCE) has been manic.

Triggles · 04/05/2012 19:22

galena - you aren't from kansas, by any chance? (just curious due to the name)

Galena · 04/05/2012 19:22

I wouldn't have offered if I minded... But I shall enjoy them... Enjoy your Brew

creatovator · 04/05/2012 19:23

Lolli and Unchartered I got comfy, cosy pjs for £17 instead of £30 ish and a good quality camisole for £5 instead of £12 ish. The camy will go really well under a fun knitted t-shirt with a loops type pattern which I picked up for £7 instead of £30 the other day.

Hi to Bigblue and Galena. Well done on the chasing up front and the school planning.

Insanity our washing basket isn't too full. How about we do some of your washing if you could do my well overflowing ironing Wink.

Triggles what can I say.... we can send you an unopened bottle.

Sally sorry to hear littlesally has been poorly. My big brother had chickenpox twice when we were kids, so it does happen.

Bet I've x posted now.

LollipopViolet · 04/05/2012 19:24

Do you know, even after a lovely afternoon with friends, and an adorable baby to coo over and play in the softplay area with, I'm still wound up like a spring.

It's just - I thought I had one film all finished today. Then my (absolutely lovely) friend, who is also one of my uni technicians, had a look and pointed out lots that needs changing. It just tipped me over the edge. I didn't think I was stressed out - but it turns out I am. I was railroaded into this film idea a little bit by my supervisor, who has been un-contactable for ages. I'm just fed up, don't really want to work in film any more. Need to try and find other areas I can work in with my skill base.

BUT, it's a relatively easy fix. I've got a good friend who's meeting me at the uni library tomorrow to have a big work session, and technician friend of mine is going to help me put the finishing touches to the film on Tuesday morning, before I go off and hand it in.

Before that it's Manchester with my best mate on Monday. It should've been Blackpool with DBF and another couple we know on Sunday, to celebrate his birthday (Monday) and our 6 month milestone (the 2nd of this month) so I'm a little :( that's now off the agenda, but I want him well. We'll have to celebrate when I give him his birthday present (going to book us on a Concorde tour at Manchester airport, when we're both free).

I have no Wine either. Might have a Malibu and Coke later.

Ineedalife · 04/05/2012 19:25

Oh gosh I am left behind again.

Wine and chocolate to everyone who needs it and hope you all have a good weekend.

GrinGrin

Oh and celebrated Dd3's 1st aniversary at her fab school.

Triggles · 04/05/2012 19:25

no no, really. I DO appreciate the offer. I'll just settle for living vicariously through you. Grin Wine AND takeaway. I had a McD's cheeseburger earlier, as the boys had McD's for supper tonight. (easy cooking night for me hahaha) So technically I've had a takeaway. I may prowl through the fridge and see if there is a spare beer floating in the back that has been missed. Grin

SallyBear · 04/05/2012 19:28

Sign - someone nicked the lead?!!!! FFS! Who does that? Angry
