Where did the week go? there have been some lovely bits to the week, first birthday party with kids from school and ds was a star, bless him!

we went to nanny's and ds was careful with the new cousin, and we went to a cafe today and ds played with the toys and sat nicely, Grin.

Ds loves standing on the scales (cos it shows your weight in a digital display) I asked him today 'ds what do you weigh?' his reply was 'my feet!' Grin PMSL.

I was off next week for my 4 days away, (ds and dh planned to within an inch of their lives Grin) however, I have a broken tooth Sad and I need to have it out, so I will need to get it done on Tues, and thus go a day later... Sad [cross]. BUM!

Ah well, at least I still get to go eh? my MiL asked what I was planning to do, my reply 'b*gger all!' Grin

how have all your weeks been? how are preparations for returns to school?

pebbly shit? dare I ask?

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:17

I think it means pebbles as decoration, it might have been Twigs and Pebbly Shit. (Not actual shit...)

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:21

ahhhh.. I see Grin Had all sorts of thoughts going through my mind on that... rabbit poo, for instance... very puzzling

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:22

Grin We were discussing this last Friday.

On MN twigs and pebbly shit refers to a thread a while ago where people were denouncing twiggy willow stick things with fairy lights on and decorative stones etc that you can buy as 'home accessories' as the height of bad taste.

However, on MNSN twigs and pebbly shit, tends to mean, well, twigs (as in small branches) pebbles (as in pebbles) and all to often shit (as in .... well you get the idea). Wink All thanks to our dcs wonderful connections to nature. Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:22

Where had this thread taken us?

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:23

I think its the stress and exhaustion taking over Ellen, inevitable end result - toilet humour.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:24

I remember that thread, too, moose. My DS3 is the 'stick' collector in our house. Did I mention he's a bit quirky?..

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:25

I'd rather have decorative twigs and fairy lights than glass decorations - too breakable!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:28

I have brown leather sofas. too. Blush But I got rid of my willow twigs ages ago, really...

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:29

DS2 poo'd in his pullup this week - something that he hasn't done in awhile - and then proceeded to smear it with his fingers all over his wall. Only reason I realised what he was doing (he was in bed for the night) was I heard him talking to himself about "flat poo" which instantly raised a red flag to me!! Hmm

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:29

I don't do decorations really, pita to dust and I'm a lazy so and so.

Ellen, all three of mine do it and drives me to distraction when I have to retrieve it all out of the washing machine or tumble drier traps because I've forgotten to check their pockets - again. Our back porch has no fewer than four buckets of stones, shells, conkers and twigs in it at the moment and what did we go and do - take them to Blackpool, where of course they all managed to collect even more shells.

Ds1 is definitely the worst though, he had a tendency to lay all his 'treasures' out on the living room window sill, so it looks like we have some sort of animal nest going on up there. It looks dreadful, but it does give me an excuse not to dust, as obviously, I'm not allowed to touch it.

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:29

oh, and brown suede sofas here. Blush

bochead · 28/10/2011 23:30

yellow moon is the sister site to baker ross and often has the same stuff in smaller quantities, (+ can be used for fundraising by the pta). The ant farm is currently reduced.

Lakeland is a dangerous site for me. When I was working I blocked it from my pc lest I spent a months wages there at the click of a mouse. Kitchen porn will always be my thing ; )

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:32

I'm sure suede is worse than leather. Grin

I have no decorations anymore, moose. I, too, hate dusting my very dusty house. I have lots of photos, though, only of the boys these days.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:33

My scouts do Yellow Moon fundraising, bochead. My DS's are not at all crafty, though.

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:33

Ellen, brown leather sofas are the best idea with three boys in your house. I have two boys and a rather dilapidated dark red chenille number that's well past it's sell by date, but I'm not replacing until they are all adults. Dh made me get rid of my twigs when we moved here nearly 9 years ago - I never knew he was such an interior design guru. Grin

Triggles, see what I mean? Its not just our kids that take things literally round here. When we see the words 'pebbly shit', home decor is not what immediately springs to mind.

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:33

that's it... off to bed, before bridget jones movie sucks me in... i love it, and it's on tv now... Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:34

Aaargh, please ignore the unnecessary apostrophe.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:35

I think 'raisins' rather than pebbly shit.

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:35

Oddly, ds1 drools over the Baker Ross and Yellow Moon catalogues, but wouldn't be caught dead doing anything remotely crafty or creative. Ds2 on the other hand, given the chance, would buy the entire contents of the catalogue and not move from the table for months, until he'd used every last bit in one of his creative endeavours - chalk and cheese my boys.

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:35

no, our home decor is decidely "early carboot years"... and will remain so until children are old enough not to spill food and tramp mud in... which I reckon will be another 30 years or so Grin

suede worse than leather?? [hhmm] Can you back up that claim? [hgrin]

look at me, smileys all festively halloween. hahahahaha

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:36

nope, sorry... raisins make me think of rabbit poo as well... and we don't even HAVE rabbits... odd

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:37

Shouldn't that be mwahahaha? [hgrin]

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:37

Raisins make me think of overgrown toddler poo. Blush

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:38

whooops... it should be... silly me [hgrin] mwahahahahaha
