Where did the week go? there have been some lovely bits to the week, first birthday party with kids from school and ds was a star, bless him!

we went to nanny's and ds was careful with the new cousin, and we went to a cafe today and ds played with the toys and sat nicely, Grin.

Ds loves standing on the scales (cos it shows your weight in a digital display) I asked him today 'ds what do you weigh?' his reply was 'my feet!' Grin PMSL.

I was off next week for my 4 days away, (ds and dh planned to within an inch of their lives Grin) however, I have a broken tooth Sad and I need to have it out, so I will need to get it done on Tues, and thus go a day later... Sad [cross]. BUM!

Ah well, at least I still get to go eh? my MiL asked what I was planning to do, my reply 'b*gger all!' Grin

how have all your weeks been? how are preparations for returns to school?

Slowburner, is the physio able to actually dx your dd or is that not under the paed's remit.

Is there anyway you could manage to pay for a private assessment, as a second opinion? I'm sure there are people on here who could recommend a private OT/physio to you if you start a thread asking.

If not, could you try getting tough with them and asking for a more thorough assessment from someone else within the nhs, stating you want a second opinion as you have been given conflicting dx's? You probably won't win any friends, but it might get you some answers.

See what I mean? Lakeland, I ask you. What'll it be next, Kleeneze?

moosemama · 28/10/2011 22:53

I agree with Ellen, your dd sounds lovely, a real fighter and determined to succeed whatever life throws at her. Try and hang onto that if you can. ((hugs)) from me too.

moosemama · 28/10/2011 22:55

Lakeland! Grin I lurve Lakeland, in fact I was perusing their website a couple of days ago and managed to put about £150 worth of stuff in the basket before I made myself close it down.

I really want their smiley face/jammy dodger biscuit cutters - the dcs would love them.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 22:56

There's a Lakeland shop in Cheltenham, just saying...

moosemama · 28/10/2011 22:57

Ah, but we have one just a ten minute bus ride away! I have to force myself away from the door when I go into town. Grin

Triggles · 28/10/2011 22:59

God yes EllenJane, there is. I have to make myself avoid it - tooooo easy to buy stuff there. I am weak. Grin

Although I'm looking at some very cool alpha bracelets kit that has a bunch of alphabet beads for £7.99 that DS2 would absolutely love!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:00

Have you seen the Grumpy Old Women stage show? They do a fantastic bit on Lakeland, glow in the dark banana holders or something.

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:02

stage show? pmsl ... I can't even get a good movie in on the telly! Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:02

Right, off to quieten down 3 noisy boys all sharing a room for the sleepover. It's nearly 11 o' clock!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:03

It will get better, Triggles. (Then it will get worse, then better again)

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:05

Okay.. I like:

www.lakeland.co.uk/60041/Ration-Tea-and-Mugs

and

www.lakeland.co.uk/42853/Alpha-Bracelets

The mugs for me, as I like the sayings, and love the wartime stuff. And the beads for DS2 - he would love them.

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:06

better then worse then better... duly noted... will stock up on chocolate in preparation. Grin

enjoy your sleepover! Grin (why they call it sleepover I'll never know - we NEVER got any sleep on sleepovers!)

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:06

Triggles, have you seen these alphabet beads on Baker Ross. They're a bargain - 600 beads for £3.99.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:07

moose loves a good google.

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:08

May the force be with you Ellen! Grin

I like the mugs Triggles, but too small for me. I have to have a huge latte mug that holds two cups of coffee at once - a normal mug always feels like a thimble full these days.

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:09

Oh I do Ellen, I am a self confessed googleaholic. Well a gal's gotta do something when she can't eat chocolate y'know. Wink

slowburner · 28/10/2011 23:10

Drooling at Lakeland catalogue.

I have a simple rule, circle stuff you like, a few weeks later return, cross out or circle again. Etc etc. Ensure the finished version is left in bathroom near toilet around christmas/birthday. This year I must must have a set of three cake tins, and also a three tier cooling rack. I circled those back in may and I still want them.

Determined is dd's middle name, in fact she should be ddd not DD. Determined plus toddler equals me (mum) often hovering around the edge of sanity but we co-sleep and I find no matter how bad the day has been that time out together resting and feeding returns calm to our souls.

I am in the process of getting private therapy organised, I don't think it was her place t say it, I also belong to an HIE forum and parents on there are begging for diagnoses for much older children more affected that DD. Makes no sense.

Ty for chocolate, off to scoff, best bit about being virtual is that you can eat it in bed without getting marks on the sheets :-)

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:10

Although in all honesty, I had actually seen those beads in their catalogue earlier today, so I was at an unfair advantage that time.

bochead · 28/10/2011 23:11

Oh how I want those mugs! It's my birthday next month so will get ds to drop hints (well flipping bombs then ; ) for that set and some liz earle cleanse and polish.

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:13

Slowburner! A three tier cooling rack - I dream of owning one of those. [sad Moose emoticon]

You're wrong about virtual chocolate though - obviously the best bit is that it has zero calories! Grin

moosemama · 28/10/2011 23:14

Bochead, my sister literally pins the catalogue page to the fridge door with a big red circle around it saying "Dh read this and think of me!". Subtlety was never her strong point, but give her her due, 9 times out of 10 it actually does work!

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:14

oh moose - love those beads there - better price and more beads!! Must mark that for future reference! I've already got his main Christmas present (won that Nintendo DS on the Cheddars thread here on MN, so will be putting it aside for him), but would like something small for him as well. I must learn to google more Grin

co-sleep? you're brave - I'd be bruised if either DS2 or DS3 slept in with me - they both are all over the place when they sleep. Monkeys.

virtual chocolate has no calories either. Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 28/10/2011 23:14

Somewhere or other there's a website where you can put your own words into the 'Keep Calm and Carry On' style. Saw it on chat ages ago. They had Brown Sofas and Pebbly Shit, and Fruit Shoots and Nice Ham among others.

Triggles · 28/10/2011 23:15

lol moose - you beat me to the calories thing Grin great minds and all
