I can't do group or online at the moment and figure I can't be the only one.

Anyone else fancy joining for motivation and support? :)

Hi, I'm going it lone too! Started a couple of weeks ago, loved it for the first week, then stupid hormones and half term got in the way. So back on it today, as I know I'll feel better and look better.

Have you started yet? Do you have a target? What's your weigh day? Mine is Friday morning, so I can have a cheeky celebration on Friday night (if I do well!).

Mum3pinks · 24/02/2020 22:51

I'm going it alone, on my 5th week, lost just 3.5 lbs, bit disheartend by it all as I haven't veered off plan at all and believe I'm doing everything correctly! Think I'm just a slow loser, perhaps it will stay off🤷‍♀️ I need to lose 2st x

MySlimmingJourney · 27/02/2020 12:52

Hey everyone, mind if I join? I joined slimming world for the furst time in january starting weight of 13st10lb. I weighed last night and i am now 12st5lb! I have been so motivated as I really want to enjoy summer and not feel bad about my body. I would love to get some tips and have some friends to talk to about our jounrneys.

Mum3pinks · 27/02/2020 13:25

Wow that's amazing, well done!
For me I think it's portion size, I know sw says free is free, but, I'm finding my losses are so slow, any tips?x

MySlimmingJourney · 27/02/2020 15:34

I had this issue too, where I am cooking a meal that states it serves 4, me and my boyfriend end up finishing the whole thing! I am trying to make a consious effort with more vegtables so if you do have big portions, its very healthy for you. I use the frozen veg like peas and sweetcorn and dont feel bad at all about having a big amount of it. Have you got any tips? x

MySlimmingJourney · 27/02/2020 16:26

As I have access to the app I can tell you any syn values if you need too :)

finished31 · 27/02/2020 19:17

Can I join please.

I know nothing about syns or daily allowances. Do I need to join a group?

BeigeFoodLover · 28/02/2020 17:34

@MySlimmingJourney I think it's brilliant you've been so self aware! Something I still need to learn! I worry I have too many carbs.

I am finding meal planning is helping me a lot!

BeigeFoodLover · 28/02/2020 17:36

@finished31 Check out the Slimming World website... I haven't joined a group (can't afford it yet) so have spent a lot of time googling, I think sometimes I'm a bit hit and miss, and it's slowed my loss down. I've also googled the booklet and found one on pinterest to get the syns etc. GOOD LUCK! Everyone is very friendly here x

finished31 · 29/02/2020 00:53

@BeigeFoodLover thank you so much. I will have a nose.

Greedypeopleithink · 29/02/2020 01:03

Hi
Please ignore the name. I created it when i needed to rant about finances.

Anyway i would love to chat on here about my downfalls with slimming world. Iv been doing it for 2 years on n off. Never joined a group. Couldn't afford it. I think it works because i have lost like a stone which i have managed to keep off but i do put on a few pounds when i go off SW n quickly go back on again to manage it. Only problem is iv been off plan for 2 months and cant get myself to go back 😭😭.
Had a baby 14 months ago n tonight i feel like i am 6 months pregnant. It didnt help that i spent most the evening watching make up tutorials which starred beautiful slim women n suddenly my clothes felt tight n bulging. Please help n motivate me back to SW.

MusicTeacherSussex · 29/02/2020 01:13

@mum3pinks that's half a pound a week, and that is awesome! That would be half a stone in another month. Dont be sad that's great! 3 stone off myself in a year xxx

MySlimmingJourney · 29/02/2020 08:28

Well done everyone! Has anyone ever felt 1lb or half a lb before? When I was disappointed with a 1lb loss my friend weighed it out and it’s actually fairly heavy. And that’s lost from your body! So feel proud of that because every little helps xxx

Mum3pinks · 29/02/2020 09:20

It's funny, you don't imagine the weight as actual weight if you know what I mean! I need to visualise it I think

I eat a lot of carbs and I do this so I'm full after a meal other wise I'll have snack and when I'm hungry fruit just doesn't cut it!

I use my heb for 40g oats and I make pancakes, I never use Muller lights to make them as they are too wet, I use plain 0 fat greek 1 egg and a tsp sweetner and they taste just like pancakes, I use choc shot half a syn for a tsp

Apparently grapes aren't the best fruit to snack on so I'm giving them the swerve and trying new fruits

I went out last night and started on vodka diet coke proud that I'd stay on syn course, 3 cocktails later and a prosecco I think I've messed up! No more syns for me over the weekend, I weigh on monday x

Greedypeopleithink · 01/03/2020 00:07

Just gobbled a delicious but calorific indian. Now im stressing about it. 😭

Mum3pinks · 01/03/2020 06:34

Draw a line start again today, there will always be bumps in the road! What would be worse would be if it tasted horrible and you still ate it....that would be a waste of syns xx

yatapina · 01/03/2020 08:26

Sorry for going AWOL, life went a bit skewhiff for a few days 🤣

Great to see so many people, I really do need a kick sometimes! For full disclosure I have done SW before - I lost almost 6st and got to target after 16 months in 2018. Then I got complacent and have piled on 3st again Blush

Nevermind, I know what to do! I'm doing it from home quietly as I tire of constantly being asked how I'm doing, does it work, etc etc...

I'm going to the cinema with DC2 this morning, I broke the habit of eating whilst watching a movie before so will have a diet drink.

Afterwards I'm going to buy myself a smaller plate - as @Mum3pinks said although some food is "free" my portions have definitely gone up and that really hasn't helped!

Food wise I think I'm organised for this week though - do you all organise, plan, prep or see what you fancy in the day?

Mum3pinks · 01/03/2020 10:36

Hope you enjoyed the movie! @TwoFeets Wow @yatapina you lost so much before well done! I plan everything and I write down everything that I eat, I add syns and each day carry over my left over syns, I usually use about 7. That way if I overrun one day I have an overdraft I can dip into especially at the weekend!(hopefully) xx

yatapina · 01/03/2020 20:44

So how has everyone's day been?

Good day here and for the first time in ages I've written everything down which has helped me stay organised. Also sorted tomorrows meals 👍

B: Banana
L: Scrambled eggs, toast (B), mushrooms, tomatoes and a satsuma
D: Roast chicken, red cabbage, carrots, sweetcorn, mash, 1 syn Yorkshire pud (1) and gravy (1.5)
Snacks: Ham, Options Hot choc (1.5), Milk (A)

I like the idea of a syn "overdraft" @Mum3pinks - I think I'll try and have a 10 syn limit day to day then there's a little leeway for treats.

It's DD's birthday on Thursday and she wants a party food buffet for dinner - that'll be interesting 🤦🤣

Great menu, remember you can have two hex a's aswell. I weigh tomorrow I'm so hoping for a loss, I know half a pound is great but I'd really like more to keep me motivated x

yatapina · 01/03/2020 21:00

I know, I did think about having some more milk/cheese but tbh I don't feel like I need it today so I'm trying not to have just for the sake of it.

I will weigh tomorrow and use it as my start weight - hate seeing those numbers at the start! Fingers crossed you'll get the result your after.

Do you eat the same kind of things all the time? I found switching my B choices around helped, definitely couldn't manage bread everyday as I'd maintain even if I'd stick to it religiously.

Hello, would it be ok for me to join?

Me in a nutshell: was 16 stone after birth of my now 5 year old, got divorced 4 years ago and lost 6 stone through stress. Remarried and have a 12 week old baby now, however I've also gone back up to 12 stone.
I would like to go back to being 11 stone and back in my 10/12 clothes.
My biggest downfall is wine. I'm fine during the week but Friday, Saturday and Sunday I can easily have a bottle per day and then sometimes an extra glass Blush
I also lack exercise as my DD wasn't keen on being in a sling and because we live in the middle of nowhere we have no pathways so the pushchair would be a no no. Luckily yesterday she finally liked the sling so I'm hoping I can get back on it.
I'm going to a 'fit-in-3' class tonight too so here's hoping I can stay this motivated! 🤞🏻

Mum3pinks · 02/03/2020 13:04

Hi @uncreativeusernamencreative, congrats on the baby, wow you done so well! I weighed this morning and I lost 2 .5lbs, so chuffed x

yatapina · 02/03/2020 13:46

Well done @Mum3pinks, 2.5lbs is a great loss!

I weighed in this morning at 14st 3lbs - would like to get to 11st. Seems impossible right now so I'll break it into manageable chunks. Aim 1: Get under 14st :)

Welcome @uncreativeusername sounds like you've done amazingly, especially with a little one! Fit in 3 sounds interesting, haven't seen that one before. I'm still looking for the exercise that I enjoy and will stick at otherwise I go a few times then get bored and give up which isn't ideal haha.
