I can't do group or online at the moment and figure I can't be the only one.

Anyone else fancy joining for motivation and support? :)

Well done sounds lovely x

yatapina · 03/03/2020 08:24

I'm not sure if anyone else likes podcasts but I've been listening to the "Slimming World podcast" and it's pretty positive - it's a consultant and one of her members discussing their stories and addressing different issues (alcohol, free foods etc) so a bit like group really.

Hoping it'll add a bit of motivation now I'm not attending an actual group.

I’d like to pop my toe in. I’ve eaten an astounding amount of food today, but only 15.5 SYNS, which isn’t too awful... I’m 14stone 10.5 as of this morning. My normal weigh will be a Monday morning though so I’m trying not to weigh in until next Monday!!

Today I’ve had:
B-ff Greek yoghurt with a tiny bit of honey (1) and a satsuma
L-Pinch of nom Nasi Goreng
Snacks- Apple, ham sandwich (HEB) salted pufts (3.5) and 60g cheddar (HEXAx2)
Dinner- sausage, mushroom and pepper spaghetti with a tomato ragu (homemade). Estimated 11 SYNS for the Sausages. They were Chipolatas but dd and I had 9 between us! (Last of an open pack)

I’m just so exhausted though, been drinking and eating so much crap Pre starting today. So ready to fit back into my clothes again!

itwasthegintalking · 03/03/2020 21:08

Me too 👋
Started back following SW principles on Monday, current weight is 10 stone 13.2lbs. Heaviest I've been since uni days of fast food and alcohol and then post pregnancy.

Ideally looking at pre pregnancy weight of 9 stone 7lbs but 10 stone is my first goal.
Weight has been steadily increasing over the past 6 months. Need to curb it now, getting breathless climbing the stairs 😳

Today so far
B - porridge (hex b) SS milk (hex a) and tsp honey (2)
L - small portion of left over beef stir fry and rice from last night with a side salad + balsamic glaze (2)
S - banana and pear
D - butternut squash and green bean curry and rice
S - x 2 90cal lemon fibre one bars
Can of Coke Zero
Peppermint tea
Water

Need to work on my will power, chocolate, cake and biscuits are my weakness!
Hoping to get inspiration and motivation from you all.

yatapina · 03/03/2020 21:41

Welcome to the club @TheGirlWhoLived and @itwasthegintalking!

15.5 syns isn't bad at all - I could sink that in 10 minutes if I went off on one 🤣

Funnily enough getting breathless whilst walking was one of my kicks up the arse too. I walked miles every day until I passed my driving test just before Christmas now I'm getting puffed out doing half of that which it's worrying.

Willpower is an issue for me too - I'm avoiding crisps because they are my nemesis...

Anyway, today all on plan:

B: Egg wrap with ham, spinach and cheese (A)
L: Leek and potato soup and banana
D: Smoked sausage (6) pasta with homemade sauce (0.5) and salad
Snacks: Watermelon, 250ml milk (A), Apple, Options (1.5)

Just realised I haven't had my B choice, that's never happened 😲

Yes please, can I join? Lost loads successfully after my last pregnancy with SW, joined online and did it at home, but after having reached target have let quite a bit sneak back on! Can’t afford online right now but have been thinking about getting back to it for a while and this is just the motivation I needed!! Got 1st 2lbs to lose.

uncreativeusername · 04/03/2020 02:49

Thanks @yatapina I'll check out that podcast.

Thanks for being very welcoming all.

I've told myself this week is a bit of getting used to the plan again. Before mksy quorn products weren't syn'd so I'm having to revise what I'm buying and planning better next week.

Menu yesterday was:

B: 2 quorn sausages (was in a rush and refused to use syns on bread, lesson learnt)
L: Homemade minestrone - free
2 plain Ryvita (hexb)
D: gnocchi (4) in a homemade chilli & tomato sauce with green salad. Used hexAs on cheese.

yatapina · 04/03/2020 07:39

Morning all, welcome @PiratePetespajamas!

It's too easy to get complacent and cocky when you reach target isn't it?! It's amazing how quick it goes on Vs how long it takes to get off again.

Good luck with your journey :)

I have Pulled Pork in the slow cooker this morning - hoping it's good. DH is already whinging (he's ridiculously fussy!) because it's not a bottle of Heinz sauce but heyho, of he doesn't like it there's plenty to freeze for me 😁

OP posts:
TheGirlWhoLived · 04/03/2020 14:04

I’ve tried the slimming world pulled pork before and it’s delicious! I have had a very on plan breakfast of 0% Greek yoghurt and an Apple, however just came back from Nando’s and sunk another 14 SYNS Shock in chicken wings and garlic bread...going to pull that back with no other snacks and am full to the brim so will only want a small dinner if anything!

It’s funny isn’t it that one persons 15st start is a goal for the next person, and one persons 10st start is a goal for the next. Yet we are all in this fighting the good fight together! Smile

uncreativeusername · 04/03/2020 14:59

Hiya all, how's it going today?
@TheGirlWhoLived I bet they were bloody yummy syns though! Grin

So far so good for me today:

B - 1 quorn sausage in a whole meal roll with brown sauce (2 syns, roll hexb)
L - salad with Linda McCartney syn free we onion sausage and salad cream (1)
D - veggie tagine with couscous, roasted veg and feta (syn free, using feta as both hexA)

Mum3pinks · 04/03/2020 15:01

@TheGirlWhoLived, exactly! We are all striving to a achieve different targets. I ended up in KFC today, major willpower, had a rice box 11syns! Really nice and filling though x

yatapina · 04/03/2020 15:38

Just in from work and pork smells lovely, they're having panini's but I'm having loaded wedges instead 😋

@TheGirlWhoLived - 14 syns isn't bad for a meal out, that's what syns are for :) You're absolutely correct about the start weight and end goals - we're all on the same journey!

@Mum3pinks well done you, are the rice boxes worth it?

So far so good here too:
B: 40g Shredded Wheat bitesize (B), banana, 15g raisins (2.5) & 250ml milk (A)
L: Leftover pasta with veg (0.5)
D: Pulled pork loaded wedges (3), 30g cheese (A) & corn on the cob
Snacks: Satsuma, Options (1.5)

OP posts:
Mum3pinks · 04/03/2020 16:03

They are actually, you get salad, rice and a sliced piece of kfc, two sauces included too, much better than 33 for a fillet burger and small fries Shock

TheGirlWhoLived · 04/03/2020 16:23

@mum3pinks that sounds really nice! I love kfc but the rice sounds tasty too.

@uncreativeusername that tagine sounds amazing too, I’ve got the new magazine which has some great motivation and recipes!

Mum3pinks · 04/03/2020 23:24

Great on plan day today
Porridge with mixed fruit using heb and hea.
Lunch kfc rice box 11 syns.
Dinner homemade coconut spiced kebabs with veg laden cous cous and potato wedges. Yum x

Wizz90 · 05/03/2020 09:43

Hiya everyone!!

It's nice that I'm not the only one wanting to do slimming world at home! I can't get to group but I was a member a year and a half ago so I'll drag out those old books and crack on!!

I have a premature baby at home and been told I can't really take her out until she's had her first vaccinations which is next week!! So Sunday I will be jumping on the scales and starting my day one then!

I would love to keep up to date with you all and share how it's going! :)

dancemom · 05/03/2020 09:54

Can I join .... although not officially till Monday!

I lost 4 1/2 stone doing SW myself from home.
Unfortunately I have put about 1.5 back on although a lot of that is muscle as I have been doing weightlifting and gym training in that time.
Lost my mojo with both training and following SW lately so going to get back to both and would love to have some accountability with you all.

itwasthegintalking · 05/03/2020 10:02

Morning, is it great that we are doing it from home. Well done dancemom, good to see it's possible from home without going to class.
Congratulations wizz on your new little one.

Well I'm day 4 today, yesterday was hard, ate out for lunch and had to choose what I thought was the best of a bad bunch of options and guess the syns (not the best start), then I went to the cinema and had a to restrain myself from getting sweet popcorn!!

Today looking good so far but meeting friends shortly for lunch (off work this week and catching up with friends).

Good luck today

BeigeFoodLover · 05/03/2020 10:04

Morning everyone! Sorry I've been AWOL.

I feel like I'm properly in the swing of things now. I've planned for the week, but also bought some 'cheat' stuff so if I'm tired/grumpy and rebel I'm still 'behaving' as it were. I finally understand the HEX A/B thing, and actually feel really pleased as basically I get bread and melted cheese every day!!

Sadly, 90% of my syns go on booze, but i'm working very hard on fixing that. Weigh in day is tomorrow morning. I'll have been doing it for about a month.

Yesterday -
B: Melon
Lunch: Egg in brown roll (B) and bag of crisps (4.5)
D: Skinny Meatball Pasta Bake (Meatballs 0.5 syns for 3 - bloody love Aldi. Then 1 syn for in the sauce honey. Tomatoes, sugar snaps, spinach, chopped toms, garlic, Mozarella A)
SYNS: Gin / Wine / Aldi Soft Gummy sweets.

Today I'm tired, and a bit grumpy, so need to be careful as I want a good weigh in tomorrow. It MAY be this...

B: Melon, Strawberries, Blueberries and Raspberries
S: Banana
L: EITHER Jacket with beans and cheese OR skinny sausage sandwich (1 syn for 2 I think, need to double check) a B, 1 syn for ketchup.
D: Sweet Potato Burger (0.5) no bun, greens, and s/w chips in the air fryer.

May have a packet of crisps (4.5) as a snack, or a dreamy bar (4).

uncreativeusername · 05/03/2020 10:42

@BeigeFoodLover I think we may be kindred spirits. Booze, specifically wine, is my downfall. Yesterday I ended up sharing a bottle of red with DH. 19 syns Shock

uncreativeusername · 05/03/2020 11:45

What's everyone planning menu wise today?

B - Crumpet with marmite (waste of 5 syns)
L - plant pioneer burgers (1/2), wholemeal roll (hexb), 30g cheddar (hexA) and salad/crudités
D - Quorn fillets (free), vegetable rice (2.5) and ratatouille (free). Might make syn free coleslaw too.
Will likely have some Nando sauce and ketchup so will syn these as and when.

I'm feeling rough today so lots of tea, so my other hexA will be for soy milk.
