I can't do group or online at the moment and figure I can't be the only one.

Anyone else fancy joining for motivation and support? :)

@uncreativeusername oh man! Why is booze so bad for us???

My husband also knows crisps are one of my downfalls and so he made me some roasted chickpeas which were great!

uncreativeusername · 05/03/2020 12:33

@BeigeFoodLover the weird thing is I don't even know if I enjoy it that much anymore, it's just a habit.

I'm away this weekend for a friends big birthday at a spa. Genuinely I don't think I can syn how much prosecco they have planned.

I've tried roasting chickpeas but I never seem to get the texture right, are they crunch the whole way through or still a bit startchy in the middle when cool?

yatapina · 05/03/2020 14:35

Afternoon all - been a busy one today as it's the youngest DC's birthday. Will be having a few extra syns today but hopefully nothing too bad.

She wants "a party buffet" so the kids can have that but adults will be having chilli linguine.

B: Wholemeal toast (B), boiled egg & satsuma
L: Sweet potato burger (0.5) cucumber, coleslaw (2)
D: Chilli linguine (3ish)
Snacks: Birthday cake (dread to think 🤣)

Will TRY not to pick at the buffet but if I do tomorrow is a new day!

It's a friends big birthday today so I've had birthday cake for breakfast!!!!Shock homemade soup for lunch and we are having pork loin, roast potatoes, veg and gravy for dinner, tomorrow we are having a surprise party for her, more cake and party food and prosecco, normal service will be resumed on saturday!! Not expecting much of a loss on monday!Hmm

itwasthegintalking · 05/03/2020 16:43

Ooh, chilli linguine sounds delicious yatapina. Enjoy your child's birthday, life is too short not to have cake on a special day.

Today has been challenging so far, I'm out of my normal week routine so eating out more.
Had a falafel salad with hummus and balsamic onion for lunch. Again guessing syns.

What does everyone else do when eating out?

BeigeFoodLover · 05/03/2020 17:07

@uncreativeusername I still enjoy it, and i struggle to know 'what to have instead' but I'm trying to break habits by having water with dinner instead of wine, and a camomile tea instead of a whisky pulls awkward face

The chickpeas are a bit overdone, so very crispy, I'll let you know what he does next time!

@yatapina oooh the chilli linguine sounds good! What's the recipe?!

@itwasthegintalking I tend to fail... Blush

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/03/2020 17:18

Best to just enjoy it uncreative and forget about SYNS for that day! Let’s be honest it’s not like just having one day of food/drink got us to where we are now!
I’ve had a bit of a bad day today... it was going well until I ate what I thought was a low fat muller rice... which was 10 syns!! 10 SYNS on a muller rice, absolutely gutted. So of course I got over my disappointment with a cadbury dairy milk and two packs of french fries Hmm

I have to stop this diet/binge mentality, really disappointed with myself now and have just text dp if he fancies getting a pizza in rather than the sw friendly option I had planned!

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/03/2020 17:21

I used to spend my SYNS on wine and vodka but recently realised I was relying on it a little too much. I’ve stopped completely now but have noticed I’m waking up with horrible night sweats and brain fog, hoping it’s the combination of alcohol, sugar and caffeine reduction, but it’s quite worrying!

yatapina · 05/03/2020 21:28

Done and dusted - I pinched a mini sausage roll, 4 triangle sandwiches, a few Haribo and a 12th of the birthday cake. I'm quite pleased with that 🤣

Chilli linguine was "meh" wouldn't bother again- boil linguine, gently warm olive oil, soften garlic and chilli in it, drain pasta and toss in oil. Season with salt, pepper and parsley.

Back to it tomorrow morning but been asked out for a meal in the evening with a friend I haven't seen for a while. Taking the car to avoid alcohol at least! Trying to remind myself that there are 21 meals in a week, if 90% of those are balanced then I'm winning... Losing whilst living is the aim after all.

@TheGirlWhoLived I tend to binge if I've gone "off plan" too. It's like I think, bugger it, what's the point?! When really I know I should draw a line and hit refresh from that moment. Hopefully your symptoms pass soon - if it keeps up might be worth heading to your doctor just to check? Sounds like you've got a lot of reductions going on.

I’m so excited - I lost 2lbs at weigh in this week, which brings me down to a half stone loss since 02.01.20 and a 6lb loss since I tentatively started SW about a month ago! I know it’s slow compared to others, but it’s taken me a while to get to grips and not ‘rebel’ and If being brutally honest with myself - which I feel I should - I’m exceeding syns with ‘just an extra’ glass of wine/whisky most nights.

Also, not my proudest moment - but I bought those aldi low sugar sweets that are meant to make you poo if you have too many... NOT A THING. Blush

@TheGirlWhoLived how long have you had the night sweats? X

Mum3pinks · 06/03/2020 09:16

@BeigeFoodLover wow amazing loss well done xx

yatapina · 06/03/2020 10:28

@BeigeFoodLover well done!! 7lbs is a big achievement 👍

I tried to have a sneaky weigh in this morning - my scales told me I was 8st 3lbs then flashed error the second time... So 6st in 5 days 🤣 They've never been particularly great so think I might invest in a half decent set.

Any recommendations? Have about £30-40 budget.

TheGirlWhoLived · 06/03/2020 10:30

Great job @BeigeFoodLover! About a week now with the night sweats, nothing last night though, but have Woken up with a full on cold and cough, so hopefully it was my body gearing up for that?! Otherwise I probably have corona virus and I didn’t even panic-buy any pot noodles -sigh-
Careful with those aldi sweets... maybe it’ll hit you when you least expect it Grin

Appetite hasn’t gone though (unluckily!) and papa johns WAS consumed last night. Stayed away from the booze though so back to it today.

B-Greek yoghurt 0% fat, blueberries and a tiny bit of honey (1)
L- steak fajitas (peppers, onions steak and fajita spice (2) with one wrap (HEB) and 30g cheese
D- sweet potato fries (2) with 6 quorn nuggets (3) and large salad

Drinks- hot lemon and water, tea and water

Not planning on any snacks other than fruit and carrot sticks to up my vitamins, so should end the day on 8 syns

BeigeFoodLover · 08/03/2020 08:17

Just had 24 hours of pure indulgence. Scales have reported a 2.5lb gain... 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am trying to go with the ‘OMG it was so much fun and worth it’ route. I’m gutted - but have 5 days to claw it back!

@yatapina mine are just from the Aldi middle aisle! I put them in exactly the same place every weigh in and figure even if the number isn’t quite right, they’re consistent?! Xx

yatapina · 08/03/2020 08:42

Morning all - I ended up having a few too many drinks on Friday night and the defences went down so some rather dubious food choices were made...

Nevermind, back to it and accept that it was never going to be the quick route as I know 100% isn't sustainable for me!

@BeigeFoodLover - We've got this, back to it and start a fresh day today! It often balances out over the week as long as the good days outweigh the bad.

I never actually thought of Aldi for scales funnily enough. Must look around and see what I can find.

Mum3pinks · 08/03/2020 08:57

You still have to live, how boring would it be of we had to say no everytime! Horrendous Friday as expected for me but got back on plan yesterday so hoping today will be the same and I will either maintain or see a little loss tomorrow!! My scales are Salter , they weigh to the 1/4 lb they were £20 tesco, again I weigh in the same place at the same time each week in my undies so hope they are correct x

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/03/2020 08:45

Weighed in today at 14st 7... next goal is to get under the 14st mark, but happy with 3.5 off with a tricky couple of days. I know Friday will be a blowout as it’s Cheltenham gold cup so need to be really hot on not using SYNS until then!!

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/03/2020 08:46

Oh I have salter too, but the batteries are dying rapidly so they might be a little skewed!

Mum3pinks · 09/03/2020 09:56

@TheGirlWhoLived that is a amazing loss wow! I maintained which I'm really happy with as I had too many syns to count on friday so I didn't and enjoyed every mouth full!! Starting today with oat cookies heb and strawberries , going to make some vegetable soup later, enjoy your day all xx

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/03/2020 10:03

I’m tempted to make a veg soup too, dd is off school poorly (only 5 so she’s happy lying on the sofa with CBeebies) but she is a fan of soup! Do you have a recipe or do you just throw it all in and hope for the best? We’re a bit low on actual veg at the moment... have carrots, onions, Garlic, Tinned potatoes, celery, a bit of pak Choi and a courgette
Hmm

Going to do a roast dinner for tea with a ‘bake in the bag’ chicken and probably baked potatoes rather than roast Grin

BeigeFoodLover · 09/03/2020 12:18

Well blooming done @TheGirlWhoLived ! That's brilliant. Although I'm sorry your little girl is poorly :(

I had a syn free day yesterday...until the wine. But I drank the one bottle i keep for the week so that's that!

So far I've had some strawberries, and been for a run. I'm just wondering if these bagels count as a HEXB or not...picked them up really fancying them, but don't know if they're synned or not!

I want to have them with some beans and poached eggs...

Any ideas?

Fingers crossed everyone has a positive week x

Going it alone and doing SW from home.
Mum3pinks · 09/03/2020 13:51

@BeigeFoodLover I think they are 7.5 syns per bagel, they can't be used as a heb i believe!! @TheGirlWhoLived sorry your little girl is I'll, my youngest is teething again and trying to find calpol in my town is like gold dust! Blooming panic buying! It's a bit late to reply now sorry but I use 3 carrots, a tin of tomatoes or pasata and a can of baked beans, any veg I have in( last week I included broccoli) stock and cook till soft then blend with stick blender and salt and pepper to taste, its yum x

BeigeFoodLover · 09/03/2020 14:19

Thanks @mum3pinks I risked it, so will syn it! Will keep me off the booze tonight at least!

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/03/2020 18:56

I tend to have whatever I want as my HEB Blush if it’s bread based I stick to 60g and if cereal based then 40g, I mean how wrong can you go really!?

She’s perking up a bit now thanks, requested carrot soup for lunch which I could rustle up out of the house-food, it’s such a pain with this panic buying isn’t it! Luckily I had some calpol left over from the Christmas colds so we were covered but it’s frustrating not being able to buy pasta!

Accidentally ate two crumpets which im stealthily ignoring but a good day aside from that, had roast chicken, baked potato And veg for dinner with some bisto!

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/03/2020 18:57

Will try that veg soup recipe though, sounds yum!
