Starting a new thread as the older one is getting close to being full.

Weigh in tonight may bring my diamond award.

Had 2 weigh-ins since rejoining. 3.5lb and 4lb off.

I am now just 1.5lb away from getting back to target. The hard bit is going to be staying at target.

Groovee · 06/05/2019 17:27

Good luck @AnnieDianaLulu

@Bowbridge that is the hardest part for me. Staying at the 6lb range is tough.

How's everyone's Bank Holiday weekend been?

Quite pleased I've managed to stay on-track, have synned all alcohol (although did borrow some of Saturday's syn allocation, but still averaging ten syns a day).

Meals planned for next week, stuff purchased for pack-ups, so feel all set.

OwlinaTree · 06/05/2019 22:39

I've been on track today, did end up with Chinese last night, but just had yuk sung and a little bit of chicken in ginger, so not too bad!

Be interesting to see how weigh in goes tomorrow!

ALemonyPea · 07/05/2019 11:26

Sorry I've been quiet, started a new job and exhausted. Been on plan though, so no worries there.

I no longer use frylight, I use the Tesco spray oil, much nicer.

Iwanttorunandhide · 07/05/2019 12:10

Thank you edgen2019,
Another weigh in today revealed a 2lb loss. Which isn’t bad. I feel lighter.
I’ve read so much about people having really good loses of 4 or 6 lbs in their first week, I feel slightly miffed at my effort.
I’m sticking with it though.
I’ve been feeling terrible, like I’m coming down with something since I started 2 weeks ago. Over the weekend it I occurred to me that it might be something to do with sugar withdrawal. I normally have a very sweet tooth and since I stared SW have obviously cut my sugar consumption enormously.
Has anyone else been effected this way?

Groovee · 07/05/2019 13:10

Home from work late so lunch is late but I didn't have anything at break time despite the mound of cakes in the staff room.

Groovee · 07/05/2019 13:14

@Iwanttorunandhide I've noticed people who have had big losses but then get upset as a small loss the next week. I lost 3lb my first week then by week 3 had got my half stone. But as long as it comes off that was my priority.

ClashCityRocker · 07/05/2019 17:14

I was so excited when my first week (first time round) I lost 6.5lb....then next week it was 0.5lb...🙄 Bodies are funny things. There's a lady at my group who only ever loses 1lb max at a time, even at the start, but she's very close to target now and is always consistent.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 07/05/2019 18:41

I GOT TARGET!!!!! I can't believe it!! I lost 2lb so I'm half a pound under target!! I'm so so happy! And so relieved as I've been a right stressed head this past week! I can relax now!!
Got my new book but I'm sticking to normal plan this week as I've got a few off plan meals planned twice this week. Made pinch of nom cheese burger pizza for tea it was delicious!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 07/05/2019 18:42

Oh I got my 4stone award too! Total lost 4st 1.5lb

Groovee · 07/05/2019 19:12

Well done@FiveNightsAtMummys

I lost a pound. Very happy with that.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 07/05/2019 19:58

What route do you follow @Groove? My consultant worked out my average loss of last 8 weeks and said I'm route b. Do you follow normal plan when out of target and normal route when your where you want to be?

Groovee · 07/05/2019 20:36

I revert to food optimising when I want to lose weight.

I normally jump about. Start on route A then work about as I kept losing weight on route A.

OP posts:
OwlinaTree · 07/05/2019 21:25

I'm at target but I don't know about these routes! Do I need to ask for a different book?

Half on tonight. 1lb over target now, so need a good week this week.

LouLou789 · 08/05/2019 07:15

Hello I thought I would pop in here. I’m a regular on the “have a lot to lose” thread but it’s gone awfully quiet on there so wanted to be here, too.
I hardly dare think about the amount I need to lose so am just focusing on one bit at a time. Have lost 3 stone 10 pounds so far 🎉 in just over 6 months, am delighted as I’m almost 60 and had become really immobile. Doing more walking now, and able to do more “normal” things, which is wonderful.

DontFundHate · 08/05/2019 07:26

@Groovee thanks so much for looking that up for me. I'm guessing it's under 15 syns as it was only 400kcal total, and that was including calories for the salmon, prawns, potatoes and veg which is all free. I wish these places would upload current menus to their websites!! Then I could see it all broken down properly

@Bowbridge that's fantastic! Yes definitely the hardest part. I want to switch to a Mediterranean diet afterwards but my sweet tooth is unstoppable when I don't have a rigid diet to stick to. I don't know how to deal with that really. I've been reading about the MIND diet which is about preventing disease and cognitive decline, there's definitely some science behind it. That states a total of 5 servings of sweets or pastries each week so I'll try to stick to that. I could easily do that, or even double that, in a day when not on a diet... :/

@FiveNightsAtMummys congratulations!!!! So interested to hear about your on target journey now. Good luck!

@LouLou789 hello! I'm new here too :)

DontFundHate · 08/05/2019 07:44

What is route a and route b please? I don't remember that from when I did SW last?

AnnieDianaLulu · 08/05/2019 09:51

I lost 6.5lbs in my weigh in yesterday. I am happy with that, but it's so close to half a stone!

als2912 · 08/05/2019 12:46

Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me jumping on here but I just needed a bit of a kick up the bum to get back in the slimming world mindset!

I've been a SW member on and off for the last 3 years, I managed to get down to my target last summer and was really chuffed but then from September onwards all I've done is put weight on again and I've now got just over a stone to lose again!

I tend to struggle with lunches if anyone has any tips please? One thing I don't like is salad and I'm not a lover of fruit which seems to be what everyone else goes for 🙈

Groovee · 08/05/2019 13:38

@OwlinaTree did you get the new target book last year? It's called Slim for Life. My consultant made a big deal of it the week it came out. Very helpful for me compared to the previous book.

@LouLou789 welcome. I've lost 5.5st, have fibromyalgia and it's made a difference.

@DontFundHate it's the target routes that you now get for SW once you reach target. They launched them last year after lots of complaints at the lack of help for target members.

@AnnieDianaLulu well done.

@als2912 welcome. I find things like omelettes, cous cous, egg muffins and pasta type things good for lunch. I work mornings, so usually lunch at home but when I am at work I try to have cous cous made with a stock cube, Tesco frozen base mix, beans and chicken or maybe two chubby cubs lentil Dahl. I try to steer away from too many salads but find soups can be filling too. Often leftovers are good too. Though with Dd home from uni we don't seem to have many leftovers these days.

I ignored the cakes at work today. Couldn't believe how good I was there. Now running about stressy as Ds's brace has broken, he needs to go to the orthodontist. Brownies are dropping by the minute. At this rate we'll have more leaders than girls.

als2912 · 08/05/2019 13:50

@Groovee thank you for all those ideas! that's a good one with the cous cous actually I didn't even think about that so I'll definitely give that a go! Currently writing my shopping list and planning my meals for the next week as my group is tomorrow at 7:30pm so I really want to try my best this week 🤞🏼

LouLou789 · 08/05/2019 15:59

Thanks for the welcomes.

@AnnieDianaLulu that’s a brilliant loss.

@als2912 Escellent ideas from Groovee. I really like soup. If you don’t fancy making your own, some of the Heinz tins are really low Syn, eg Lentil, beef broth and chicken noodle. If I’m mega hungry I cook a little pasta and some frozen mixed veg, drain then return to the pan with a tin of the Beef Broth, is almost like eating a stew and only 2.5 syns.

OwlinaTree · 08/05/2019 16:29

Thanks for that groovee, I'll have a look at what I've got at home, see if that book is there. If not I'll ask next week.

Congratulations on target five. Welcome LouLou.

ClashCityRocker · 08/05/2019 18:56

I'm not a fan of salads either unless the weather is absolutely tropical! I normally take leftovers from last nights tea.
Crustless quiche works well, too. Or you could use your hex b - they have baps, wraps and wholemeal pitta on there now which I always find a lot more satisfying than the two small slices of wholemeal.

Glad they've got a bit more support for target members. I remember some in my old group bemoaning that.
