Well done @FiveNightsAtMummys

I gained this week. At the top of target.

Fortunately I'm back to work next week.

Joined last night and bought one of the cookbooks so planning meals for the next few days.

Masses to lose but going to focus on small steps and hope to never be this big again.

edgen2019 · 15/08/2019 16:43

Well done Fivenights, I reached my target weight 5 weeks ago, am finding it difficult to maintain my weight at the moment, it was easier when I was losing the pounds!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 16/08/2019 10:54

Thanks all!!
Edgen I got to taget in may and have had to drop it again 2 more times as I keep losing and I've got under again! I think it's easier loosing as the plan is strict ish and easy to follow.

Callmesausage · 16/08/2019 15:55

How much have you lost in total FiveNights?

FiveNightsAtMummys · 16/08/2019 20:48

5st5lb bmi was over 31 its 20.8 now.

Callmesausage · 16/08/2019 22:35

Well done, that’s fabulous

LaDrem · 18/08/2019 14:01

One thing that I’m concerned about is the syns. I’m very much an all or nothing person and I think if I use syns it will feel like cheating. This is where I need to change my mindset so if you have any advice would much appreciate it.

You know, I totally get this. I'm actually trying to use the syns in my recipes rather than on chocolate etc. So, for example, I made Turkey Keema last night and it needed honey. Rather than using a nasty sweetener I stuck with honey and synned it! It makes the meals more satisfying for me.

Callmesausage · 18/08/2019 21:13

Thanks LaDrem, I’m trying to do that too.

weymouthheart · 19/08/2019 11:47

Hi, I am contemplating joining Slimming World but am very confused by their recipes. They all seem to be for four people. There are three people in my house so I know that the extra portion would be spread over three meals ! Also just to pick one SW recipe - the jacket potato with tuna and sweet corn just says tin of tuna !!!!!!! How do I know what size tin ?

FiveNightsAtMummys · 20/08/2019 08:04

Wey mouth. In regards to recipes if it's for example 4 syns per portion for 4 then 4x4=16 but 3 eat all of it then 16÷3 so it would be around 5.5 syns instead. Or you could save the 4th portion for another day to keep it at 4 syns.

Tuna in brine and spring water is free. I imagine a can just means a standard side can. I've only ever seen standard ones and small tins.

Maintained after being 100% I just want to get 3lb holiday weight off 🤬. It's been 6 weeks!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 21/08/2019 08:35

1/2 on, just need another half on to get me back in target now.

Callmesausage · 22/08/2019 14:49

First week weigh in yesterday and list 8lbs. V pleased with that!

edgen2019 · 22/08/2019 18:25

Well done Callmesausage, that's a great achievement.

JaceLancs · 22/08/2019 18:41

Lost 0.5 but missed group last week and have been away twice and lots of meal out - extra drinks etc
Hoping it won’t come back to haunt me next week!
On a non scale victory I’ve just replaced 2 of my jaeger winter coats (eBay) and am able to fasten up a size 8
When I started out at SW was in jaeger 18,

Callmesausage · 23/08/2019 13:00

Thanks Edgen.

How much have you lost in all Jace? Size 18 go an 8 is amazing, well done.

Groovee · 23/08/2019 13:16

I'm just marking my spot as I have fallen off the thread. My attendance at group has been a bit erratic since the schools broke up and weight has been fluctuating up and down by the same 2lb, need to get back on it now we are back from holidays.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 25/08/2019 20:55

Feeling hopefully I'll gain 1/2 lb tues (need it to get back into target). I've had a McDonalds (burger and salad), gone over syns on chocolate (only about 20 syns worth), 1/2 pizza, afternoon tea, crossiant, sausage roll and cheeses, 2 big bags of crisps and ikea meatballs with mash. Ok maybe it'll be more than 1/2lb didn't realise it was so much till I wrote it down! Will found out tues anyway, so hard finding a balance.

Groovee · 26/08/2019 16:51

I'm bunged up. Not sure why 😭 most likely a gain for me this week! 💩💩💩

iloveblue · 27/08/2019 10:02

Hello all. Please can I join you. I joined SW on Saturday - first time for me.
I have 6 stone to lose.
I am enjoying the SW recipes so far - the evening meal we are having as a family.
I do feel hungry at times though - but not sure if it is true hunger or just because my brain is out of sync with my stomach due to my poor snacking habits over the years.
I am also sleeping badly and weeing loads more than normal (twice during the night).
Does any of this sound familiar?

FiveNightsAtMummys · 27/08/2019 22:54

Lost 1lb! I was confident I'd maintain at least. 1.5lb I need to gain to get back in target now!

Groovee · 28/08/2019 06:52

@iloveblue I find snacking on protein works best, so wafer thin turkey or some quark with a bit of sweetener mixed in usually works.

@FiveNightsAtMummys are you still having lots of healthy extras? I find bread helps gain. The allisons super seeded wholemeal is good for that.

Lost 1/2lb. Hoping to mix things up and get the 2.5lb off from my holiday. Still in target but something isn't right.

Yes groove I have at least 2 heb and hea every day sometimes I'll have 3 but I don't always manage to fit it in depending what I'm having. Last week I had toast with jam every day with my fruit and yogurt for breakfast. I do find when I have more healthy extras I use less syns as I'm just too full but then when I use syns I don't want healthy extras. I think I'd be fine but I get so stressed about target and needing to he in it, really I guess it doesn't matter.
