Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

Lost 3.5 this week which for me is a big loss but think last week when I gained a pound was a bit of a blip so am viewing it as I’ve lost 2.5 in last 2 weeks!
As I’m a slow loser that seems more rational
Only a pound away from getting back to my 5 stone loss - then want to lose another stone or more

boats16 · 30/01/2019 08:28

Well done JaceLancs. Im a slow loser . I tend to only lose 1lb at a time

HazelnutRaspberryRoulade · 30/01/2019 09:10

Well done @JaceLancs, that’s a great result!

My scales kept changing their mind but looks like I put on a pound this week. Not really sure why, kept within syns and been to four gym classes. Might look at portion sizes of my dinner, or it might be a bit of water retention because my muscles are quite sore today. Never mind, will keep on trying.

Imperfectsusan · 30/01/2019 09:22

Really well done, @fivenights, @grovee, @jace.

Debating whether I can get the car out as snowing heavily here.

Imperfectsusan · 30/01/2019 09:25

Yearoftgemum, but namechange.

boats16 · 30/01/2019 10:27

@ Hazelnut . Good for you, not letting it get you down. Tomorrows another week. It all adds up. Smile

boats16 · 30/01/2019 10:30

' Imperfectsusan why the name change ? I was just getting the hang of writing the other lol

Groovee · 30/01/2019 12:43

Well done @JaceLancs

@HazelnutRaspberryRoulade our bodies are the strangest things.

Is Langley farm fat free cottage cheese syn free ? Anyone know ? I love it , it tastes so much nicer than all the other cottage cheeses. Smile

OwlinaTree · 30/01/2019 16:23

Yes it is.

Imperfectsusan · 30/01/2019 17:01

boats16 Oh I just do occasionally. I think it's safer.

Langley farm fat free natural and Clive's are both free.

I have not been to group for a fortnight and gained 2lb. Serves me right. On it now.

Groovee · 30/01/2019 17:08

Just made bacon risotto. So yummy. Off to brownies now. Could see it far enough.

And a horrible stressful day but 100% on plan and about 5 syns.

I'm on placement on a ward that isn't great (although some great staff). And on first break I was in the staff room with my former mentor (who is no longer due to issues) and she goes 'have you put on weight?'

I've never been asked that in my life, and found it such a weird question. Anyway she went on to tell me some bullshita bout how much i need to lose.

It was also shit for other reasons, but I had 2 lovely staff and only have 8 shifts to go. (On week 7 of 10)

Anyway after that tangent 😂

I stayed on plan all day with weetabix apple and soya for bfast, pasta salad for lunch (and 2nd tea) and half a mug shot for first tea. I also ate 9 little oranges 😂

This placement has broke me in so many ways but im sooo determined to be on plan. I have PT tomorrow and am doing a 600 cal day as a boost (if it doesnt work out it doesnt work out - slimming world is the main goal)

Onwards and downwards. Good luck to everyone weighing.xxxx

Groovee · 31/01/2019 05:38

Ah @Studentnursesos12e your ex mentor is just nasty. There's never any excuse to do that. It's bullying. Well done for staying on plan x

boats16 · 31/01/2019 09:03

@ Studentnurses Take no notice. I have someon who is always asking me that question and they dont realise what it does to your confidence. Ignore them all I say, they dont know any better. Its good youve got a goal Smile

Studentnursesos12e · 31/01/2019 09:26

Thanks to you both. It's just made me more determined to qualify as a nurse and to lose weight. Xx

boats16 · 31/01/2019 17:40

A bit nervous . WI tomorrow and I dont fel much lighter. Stuck to plan apart from WE whn I stayed over at my friends but I dont think I went overboard. Just her homemade curry and some pringles [oops]

Groovee · 31/01/2019 19:00

boats16 · 01/02/2019 11:20

Are asdas own wheat bisks syn free ?

Groovee · 01/02/2019 12:48

They are a healthy extra b choice. Well done on the loss x

noodlenosefraggle · 01/02/2019 12:55

I lost 3lb this week, which was mystifying, as I was completely on it the week before and put on 1/2 lb then was a bit crap this week and lost 3lb. Usually I then get complacent so I'm really going to carry on again. I'm doing sugar free February to try and kick my sugar addiction too, so I'll see how that goes. I'll have to use my syns on things other than cake and chocolate, which will be a start!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 01/02/2019 13:17

Well done to all the loosers.

Student nurse ignore your ex mentor she sound a awful!!
