Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

boats16 · 23/01/2019 18:49

Ive had Quorn Garlic and mushroom escalope for tea, big salad (chopped tomato, cucumber and onion ) and a sliced hard boiled egg. Not sure how many syns it was ( think about 8) but it was yummy !!! Not had a lot of syns today so allowed myself it. Anyone tried the SW chips ?

ALemonyPea · 23/01/2019 19:51

JaceLancs · 23/01/2019 21:52

I gained a pound this week and am very upset because I’ve been on plan all week

thereallifesaffy · 23/01/2019 21:57

Joining.
Want to lose just over a stone. Lost 3lbs so far but fear weigh in tomorrow as I've had a tiring week and always turn to carby snacks when tired.

OwlinaTree · 23/01/2019 22:49

That's very disappointing Jace. Hopefully you'll have a good loss next week to make up for it.

boats16 · 23/01/2019 22:57

Never mind @ jace .Youll probably lose that and more next week.Chin up.☺
Welcome @ thereallifesaffy. Good luck for WI tomorrow.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow @ ALemony*
😀😀😀

Groovee · 24/01/2019 06:10

Hugs @JaceLancs that's been me the last 2 weeks x

OwlinaTree · 24/01/2019 07:15

I'm trying to up my water this week to keep things moving! Maybe that will make a difference?

JaceLancs · 24/01/2019 07:57

I struggle to drink enough water but will try and increase
Really try to cut back on alcohol and not use up all my syns
See if that helps this week

emwithme · 24/01/2019 13:44

Maintained this week but am really happy as we had 3 nights where Little Miss didn't sleep more than 45 minutes at a time and I was almost dead.

We've had two better nights since and I've been able to reduce my biscuit consumption.

DH is doing nights Saturday to Tuesday so I need to plan low-syn easy dinners that van be eaten one handed if necessary. I'm thinking chunky soups will be the way to go.

boats16 · 24/01/2019 14:21

well done @ emwithme Smile

thereallifesaffy · 24/01/2019 17:01

Only - 0.5
Bit disappointed.

Onwards and upwards eh?

Or rather downwards!

boats16 · 24/01/2019 17:57

Don't be disappointed @ thereallifesaffy , it all mounts up towards your goal. Any minus is good [thumbs up]

ALemonyPea · 24/01/2019 19:44

1 off, fine with that given my bad day on Saturday.

Not getting weighed next week as will be in hospital. Need to behave and not stress too much before then.

boats16 · 24/01/2019 20:01

Well done ALemony 👍👍👍👍

OwlinaTree · 24/01/2019 20:49

Slimming World Cajun Chicken Pasta. A meal you’ll want to return to again and again they said. So tasty my picky 11 year old wolfed it down they exclaimed. My husband said he’d be happy to eat that in a restaurant wife triumphantly declares. Winner winner chicken dinner I thought, tub of fat free quark goo in one hand, jug of chicken stock in the other. An hour later and ta-da as I slid results of my efforts in front of hungry family. ‘Smells like sick’ my picky 11 year old protests. ‘The sauce is all split and grainy’ husband complains. Guess he’d be asking for his money back if he got this plate of pavement pizza served to him in a restaurant. ‘Tastes like sick too’ 11 year olds eyes well up. When you think about the ingredients though if it had been described as Cajun Chicken in a bitter fat free yoghurt, with scrambled egg and chicken stock I I would have reached for a jar of Dolmio instead. On the plus side though, it was definitely slimming as I only had 3 mouthfuls before I had to admit defeat and throw it all in the bin.

noodlenosefraggle · 25/01/2019 08:06

Grin The two Chubby Cubs website describes SW recipes as 'taking ordinary food and turning it watery and tasteless. They use their syns for ingredients and make delicious recipes!
Anyway, I drank loads of water, did 3 SP days, played badminton for an hour, went for a 10 minute walk every day and put on 1/2lb! I then went home and ate 33 syns Shock I might try knocking the second hexa on the head. Gutted!

noodlenosefraggle · 25/01/2019 08:09

Also, don't cook with quark. It's impossible not to split it unless you stir it into cooked and cooled food, making it stone cold. Use low fat soft cheese or fat free creme fraich. It will only be a couple of syns a portion.

boats16 · 25/01/2019 08:50

1lb off for me today.
Thats 4lb altogether since I started again this time , so its ok if you look at it like that. What I like about SW is its a way of slimming and yet eating well. No feeling hungry, so you can adopt it as a way of life.[ not big grin, just a smile ! ]
