We’re doing a low syn taster this week. Was thinking nacho Style Feast!

We all nominated last week but our consultant then didn’t tell anyone who had been nominated for woman of the year, and just counted up the nominations in front of us. A couple of people weren’t happy as they wanted to hear all the nominees stories.

2lb loss this week. Would have liked more for my first week but considering I had 3 nights out (2 big boozy ones Blush) I feel ok about it. Saving most of my syns this week for a girls' night in on Friday as it's usually just eating and drinking which will be tough.

Today I've had:
B: 1 weetabix & milk (both 1/2 my HEA+HEB) with berries & banana
L: wild & brown rice with mixed veg dressed with soy & sweet chilli sauce 1syn
D: tandoori chicken with veg & rice
S: Diet Coke, satsuma, coffee out (2 syns) Apple & an alpen bar for as long as I can hold off eating it!

Cooked up a huge vat of spiced super speed soup so I've always got something free for lunch or to have between meals Smile

ALemonyPea · 30/10/2017 18:14

I’ve made weetabix cakes. Probably going to taste like crap. Everyone always seems to make savoury things for group tasters, so I’ll add the sweet stuff.

Well done on your loss, Thisgirl.

Lubilu28 · 30/10/2017 19:25

lemony I wasn’t too sure on the skyr yogurt as it says full of protein on the pot :/ because I wasn’t sure I didn’t have any and just had a pear instead lol 😂

Actually found it quite easy to do which I was really surprised!!

Ended the day on 5 syns as u said having 1 syn for mayo on my salad and 4 for the fibre one bar I’ve just eaten :) xxx

Trills · 30/10/2017 20:26

Have a look at the packaging of the skyr and compare it to some quark (which is labelled as P in the book). If it has as much protein per 100g then I'd say it counts as P.

Trills · 30/10/2017 20:30

Tesco quark 11.5g protein per 100g
www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/285173410

Arla Skyr yoghurt 11g protein per 100g
www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/287960541

Tesco regular fat free yoghurt 5.5g protein per 100g
www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/281838783

I would say that Skyr comes under the category of "thing that is like quark" more than it comes under the "yoghurt" category.

Lubilu28 · 30/10/2017 20:33

This is what I thought trills!

I’ll mention it to my consultant on Friday and see what she says :) xx

Trills · 30/10/2017 20:47

If your consultant disagrees I'd be interested to hear the reasoning

ALemonyPea · 30/10/2017 20:49

I know you can have Arla protein on an SP day. Are they the same stuff?

Trills · 30/10/2017 21:02

Arla protein (fruit flavoured yoghurt?) 10g of protein per 100g
www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/293860633

I think that settles it

Trills · 30/10/2017 21:12

The ingredients list on that one says Quark but it seems there is a fine line between the two, and >= 10g protein per 100g seems to qualify you for an SP day.

Groovee · 30/10/2017 21:41

Ordered an ice cream at dinner! Got the biggest ice cream you could imagine 🙈😩. Not optimistic for the week ahead.

Had a bad weekend :( went to a baby shower, where there wasn’t a single slimming world friendly item on the menu, had a chinese that night as the boxing was on. Sunday DH was working until 6, so no supermarkets open, another takeaway...
No idea how i’m going to pull this back for Thursday :(

calzone · 30/10/2017 22:35

Marking my place for tomorrow

UnwiseOldElf · 31/10/2017 07:21

Lost 6lb last week, gained 3.5lb this week. Has to be perimenopause and water retention weirdness. I think I need to ignore the weekly figures and focus on the trend, which is downwards. I’m almost 2st down since I started in August so I have to be doing something right. The fluctuations are annoying though!

Maybe I was wearing a very heavy cardigan last night?! Grin

OwlinaTree · 31/10/2017 08:09

Morning all. 2st loss since August is brilliant elf.

I'm ill, had yesterday and today off work. Don't know whether to go to weigh in tonight, I've had two weeks off because of work and my birthday, so feel I should go and face the music tonight!

Guess I'll see how I feel later... Need to get back on it really. I've been on and off for the last week or so. Stuck to plan yesterday and from about Sunday night...

Groovee · 31/10/2017 08:15

Well done @UnwiseOldElf. I find over the month it balances out.

Hope you feel better soon @OwlinaTree.

I’ve just had Lidl skyr blueberry and that’s only 8.9g per 100g.

OP posts:
Trills · 31/10/2017 09:39

I don't know what the cutoff is (or even if they've explicitly thought about it like this) but I'll be damned if I let someone tell me that a fat-free milk-based product with the same protein content as quark is "not allowed" because it is fermented rather than soured with lemon juice and heated :o

Trills · 31/10/2017 09:42

Going to visit a friend on maternity leave today and I have made a batch of biscuits, of which I will have one and I will leave the rest for her to eat when she is trapped by a baby and unable to feed herself.

Scribblegirl · 31/10/2017 09:51

Had a terrible weekend too Rhino. Too much wine and I wound up eating a McDonalds when drunk on Saturday night because I hadn't planned out food and it just seemed easiest. Was full of regret come Sunday morning...

Group is Wednesday lunchtime so I'm hoping that syn free days on Weds + Thurs last week and Mon + Tues this week might pull me back, but I'm pessimistic...

thisgirlrides · 31/10/2017 10:07

Wow @UnwiseOldElf 2 stone since August is amazing well done. Working from home today which was always a bad snacking time so been for an early run as that makes me feel instantly healthier & hopefully less likely to indulge in the sweets ready for tonight Shock menu today:
B: Sw fry up with egg, beans, mushrooms & 0.5 syn veggie sausage

L: Moroccan spiced lentil soup and fruit
D: fajitas. Haven’t worked out exact syns but saving my HEA & HEB for wraps & cheese and will fry veg & chicken in spray oil so should be minimal then pineapple with mint for pud

Groovee · 31/10/2017 14:10

Have made Nacho Style Feast for taster. Will put the cheese on when I’m re-heating.

Still can’t poo😢

Has anyone had their present from slimming world yet that they said we’re getting in class this week?

OP posts:
amusedbush · 31/10/2017 15:38

Well, I snuck out and signed up to Weight Watchers at the end of last week and I've already cancelled and asked for a refund.

I can't believe how restrictive the plan is! I got 30 points a day and one flavoured latte can be 18 points! 18! That's MENTAL.

Nope. I'm over my moment of madness and I'm comfortably back on the SW train.

amusedbush · 31/10/2017 15:40

I should also add that I felt so restricted that it put me back into a horrible mindset and I've binged twice since Saturday Sad

I haven't done anything like that in three months on SW, but three days on WW was enough to make me feel deprived and after the first "bad" day I thought "fuck it" because I'd already blown all of my weekly "bonus" points, which would see me on prison rations the rest of the week. That's no way to live.
