I've maintained the last 2 weeks Sad I just can't seem to stick to plan at the weekends. I was 100% from mon-thurs last week, weighed on fri and nothing 😕 I know it's my own fault and I need to give it my all but I just can't get motivated, I really want to be in the 11s for Christmas Sad

Groovee · 06/11/2017 15:13

@Jennywallpaper could you do a meal plan? What makes you not stick to plan?

OP posts:
Jennywallpaper · 06/11/2017 15:28

@Groovee I work fri and Sat and find that by the time I get home and get the DC sorted etc I just can't be bothered, that and my willpower. I did loads of batch cooking on Thursday so I'd have no excuses but still ordered a Chinese on Friday night! Blush I think I might try some sp days and see if it helps, I have a night out soon and I'd really like to be a few pounds down by then.

Raisedbyguineapigs · 06/11/2017 16:42

I went to a new cafe near me with a friend. Had a skinny cappuccino and a toasted teacake, thinking that would be lower syn than cakes or biscuits- they came up at 15 syns!! I could have just had a small biscuit for less Angry I was really doing well too over the weekend.

Tweetypie30 · 06/11/2017 16:42

New day, new week. Back on it again. I'm setting myself a mini two week goal to try and kick-start my weight loss again!

Groovee · 06/11/2017 19:52

Ah @Jennywallpaper that’s hard. I didn’t get a Chinese on Friday because I couldn’t get parked.

Ah @Raisedbyguineapigs that’s a bummer. It’s hard to know sometimes.

Good luck @Tweetypie30

1lb loss for me this week which is a bloody miracle considering the weekend I’ve had (annoying to think how much more it could have been Envy). Struggled to stay on track today - meals ok but been picking at the kids lunch/tea which I need to stop. I’ve got some paper trackers so going to start writing everything down properly as it helps me keep focused.
B: 1 weetabix with milk (HEA&HEB)
L: butternut squash & red pepper soup
D: chilli chicken ramen (assuming a few syns for homemade stock otherwise free)
Alpen bar HEB, square of dark chocolate (2 syns) lots of fruit, small homemade biscuit (3 syns?) & then small portion of kids cheesy chicken pasta at lunch (5syns?) & veg couscous at dinner (2 syns for dressing?)

I don’t think I’m over my daily allowance but I lose best when I stick under 10 syns so need to rein in the nibbling Shock

Flutterby81 · 07/11/2017 08:09

Morning everyone havent been on here for a little while have sts in 2weeks which is good considering Iv been good but haven't stuck 100% to plan and no tracking etc.

From today in going to start writing everything down again to keep muskeg accountable it's my days off I struggle with I seem to turn into a ravenous pig and gorge lol

amusedbush · 07/11/2017 08:54

Another binge last night Sad

I skipped the gym and binged in secret, hiding out in the bedroom while DH watched TV in the living room. I'm so pissed off with myself.

I've done this time and time again. I lose a lot of weight, I become "acceptably" overweight and I completely loosen the reins. It has to stop Sad

latedecember1963 · 07/11/2017 10:16

Welcome back, Flutterby.

Amusedbush, what I've found so good about this thread is that we're all here to support each other through the good and bad times. Today is a new day. Sometimes I break my day down into morning, afternoon and evening chunks so that if part of it goes off plan I can at least feel that most of the day has been ok.

I WI yesterday evening and gained 1.5 lbs which I'm hoping is down to not WI at 9.30 am. I want a good loss next Monday as I should be having my op on Thurs 16th Nov and may not be able to get to group for a couple of weeks.

StrawberryJelly00 · 07/11/2017 11:44

Hi! I am a newbie, signed up to slimming world 2 weeks ago this is my third week.

So far i have lost half a stone and won the slimmer of the week award. But due to money I have to choose between gym membership or sw membership.

I need to choose the gym so hope to get some support here and also through friends that are still attending plus Facebook support groups xx

Jennywallpaper · 07/11/2017 13:24

Has anyone tried carrot 'chips'? Trying to do an sp day and thought I'd give them ago with dinner, but not sure if I need to parboil them first.

Groovee · 07/11/2017 15:41

@amusedbush the next time you want to binge, post on here. We can keep you on the straight and narrow.

Welcome back @Flutterby81.

Welcome @StrawberryJelly00

@Jennywallpaper not tried them but my friend parboiled hers.

I had a crap sleep last night. Am knackered but have survived work. Have prepped dinner and have weigh in at 5.30. 🤞🏻 for a good loss. Then I have Burlesque after that.

Bummer about the gain @latedecember1963 but good luck for next week.

Thank you – I need all the help I can get. I’m struggling really badly today but I’m over one hurdle because the café at work is now closed so I can’t nip in and grab the crisps and empire biscuit that I’m dying for. Next hurdle is dragging myself to the gym at 5pm and getting through a spin class.

If I can do that, the rest of the night will be easy.

Jennywallpaper · 07/11/2017 16:26

Thanks @Groovee I'll give them a go and see how they turn out, good luck for weigh in!

Raisedbyguineapigs · 07/11/2017 16:37

amusedbush That's horrible when you know you are sabotaging yourself. I do it all the time. There are people in my group who lost 6 stone and have kept it off for over a year so must have gone from eating appallingly to healthy eating and stayed that way, so it's definitely possible to get out of that mindset. We just need to stick it out and play the long game I think, and not beat ourselves up if we fall off the wagon occasionally.

amusedbush · 07/11/2017 16:40

I've struggled with binge eating disorder my entire life, as long as I can remember. I was formally diagnosed in 2010 and I had talk therapy for it but it didn't help. I think I need proper CBT.

It's a compulsion and no matter how much I want to be slimmer and healthier, that drive for junk food overrides everything. I've been in tears while shoveling in junk food before because I didn't actually want to, I just HAD to.

UnwiseOldElf · 07/11/2017 18:50

Lost 4.5lb after my gain of 3.5 last week, so back on track to almost 2st down. Yep water retention and perimenopause do not go well with SW -it would really mess with my head if I let it.

UnwiseOldElf · 07/11/2017 18:54

amused your posts strike a chord with me. I lost over 6st a few years ago on Lighter Life and kept it off by religiously low carbing. Problem was that once I started eating carbs again I developed BED. It was really really scary - almost watching myself regain all the weight I had so carefully lost.

Can you ask abot CBT or other counselling support since you have a formal diagnosis? I saw someone privately for a few months - a psychologist who specialises in eating disorders and the other issues they may be connected to. She isn’t cheap but she is very very good. When I’ve saved up some money I will go back to her for some sessions. If you are interested I can PM you her details.

Try to be kind to yourself x x

ShapelyBingoWing · 07/11/2017 20:43

Feeling a bit bleh today. I have IBS and have had to take some of my soft muscle relaxant tablets today due to some bad cramping. And now I feel really backed up and weigh in is in the morning Sad

Do any of you with IBS find that your losses slow down when you're having to medicate?

amusedbush · 07/11/2017 21:20

UnwiseOldElf

I did visit the GP about getting some help and the only thing they would offer me was some local NHS weight loss clinic which takes place during my working hours.

It might be time to look into it again.

I went to the gym and burned 600kcal at spinning. Came home and prepped tuna pasta salad for the rest of the week's lunches and had a beef and mushroom curry for dinner. I feel totally content and ready to get through another day.

Groovee · 07/11/2017 22:20

Lost 1.5lbs this week. Only 2.5lb to 4st. Well done @UnwiseOldElf.

Hi all, welcome new folk.

Sympathies amused, must be really tough for you.

Finally made weigh in, I've gained 1lb so I'm alright about that, really hope I can lose that lb next week!

FaithEverPresent · 07/11/2017 22:37

Shapely yes I have IBS too. Waiting for investigations thanks to possible endo. I think my struggle is down to water retention.
