You know the Chinese takeaway syn values? When they say "average portion", do you think they mean half of a small plastic container (not a long foil one), or half of one of those? I fancy beef & veg in black bean sauce.

holidaysarenice · 13/09/2013 17:51

fairygen I like your style!!

I even removed my bracelet whilst on the scales....

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 13/09/2013 18:56

Sorry, meant a whole one, or half of one Blush

Fairygen · 13/09/2013 20:03

I've had a look on th SW website and it says, average portion 360g. Hope that helps x

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 13/09/2013 20:41

Thanks Fairy - will weigh the next one Smile

Minimammoth · 13/09/2013 21:23

Had a bit of a splurge today, had a few chips and cake, but tried to stay within syn allowance. My morning weigh says I am still losing. But night weigh stays the same.

Curlywurlysareyum · 14/09/2013 13:19

Have lost my motivation recently but managed to sts 2 weeks which is amazing considering the syns I've had. Been busy at work etc and keep feeling like I need to eat chocolate for energy!! Which I know is nonsense. So I've just had a nice omelet with salad and trying to reach for a yoghurt or fruit instead of sweet stuff.
Really want the weight off I put on in July. At end of June I was 4 lbs from target :( Now I'm a stone away. Just wish I could be motivated like I was before the summer.
Just need a good kick!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/09/2013 18:01

curly im the same 'sighs'

Curly and blondes, i feel the same at the mo. I want to be thinner so much, but have lost my motivation too. I sorted my wardrobe this afternoon, in the hope that trying on a few bits might help. It did, sort of. I'm still between sizes, although I've lost 2 inches from my waist and 3 from my bust!

Starting afresh tomorrow and back to red days in an attempt to have a decent loss on Thursday.

I bumped into my old neighbour in town, who has lost 4.5 stone on SW. She's been big for the 20+ years I've known her, so if she can do it.....

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 14/09/2013 20:55

I had a really nice tea. I made tzatziki (without the oil and with 0% fat Greek yoghurt), Greek salad (feta "a" and no oil), frylighted potato wedges with a bit of water in the tray to approximate Greek roast potatoes, wholemeal pitta breads and griddled strips of thin beef steaks. Even DS was happy.

Does anyone know if you can count a 60g wholemeal pitta as a b choice? The book just says "any wholemeal bread".

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 15/09/2013 15:49

Aargh. Crap Sainsbury's cafe lunch. No jacket potatoes and an ordering mix-up ended with me eating veg lasagne, garlic bread and potato wedges as I was starving and not thinking straight enough to send it back when it came (I asked for bread and chips to be replaced with salad). Approximately 1,000,000 Syns on food I didn't enjoy. sulk

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/09/2013 18:36

fairygen - weare bad arent we :( all my sw depends on workand if i work nights then all goes tits up :(

boots - yes a b is a slice of wholemeal bread and boo at sains :(

Ta Blonde - back on track now, just had a jacket potato with bacon, cheddar and mushrooms plus salad veg so am feeling a bit more in control again Smile

I'm really prone to writing off whole days when that happens so am feeling all virtuous.

pinkoneblueone · 15/09/2013 18:54

Hi please can I join the group, I joined SW in jan and have lost 5stone but find these days I over eat as I have now stretched my tummy :( as I need to eat seriously large amounts to feel full :( I cycle more than 80 miles a week to and from work and to shops Etc as we don't have a car so I still have about 2 stone till I'm on target so need to be good as I want to get there before Xmas!

Minimammoth · 15/09/2013 18:55

I have been eating out a bit so wobbled a bit on the syns. Don't think I have lost any this week, it seems to take me two weeks to see a loss. I agree with the being 'empty' before weigh in if poss.

pinkoneblueone · 15/09/2013 19:28

I can't be empty before weigh in as I go straight after work and have to cycle 8 miles home and drop in to weigh In on the way home last week I had a huge amount of pasta for lunch so it's no surprise I put on 4lb last week so will be making sure I don't eat tat this week before WI

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 15/09/2013 19:30

I am in awe of how far you cycle every day!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/09/2013 20:46

pinl/blue wow at 5 stone - well done :)

Sorry but im dyscalculic so i find this third of this and third of that really confusing.
I have a Join Slimming World for free voucher that was free in Woman magazine last week and im planning to use it this week.
I lost ten stone on SW 11 years ago eating loads of the Free Foods so i dont get why that doesnt work now. (apart from me being older of course) Saying that a food is free and then saying "watch your portion size is a bit gaslighty.

Im hopefully going to be going to an evening class so i cant be empty Im not willing to starve all day

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 16/09/2013 05:41

You can still do red and green days without bothering with the 1/3 superfree food st each meal, as I understand it.

Fairygen · 16/09/2013 14:01

On my god...scan bran, what possesses anyone to eat it???!!!

We were told in group that it's the best b choice for quicker weight loss, so thought I'd give it a go. Admittedly, it's filled me up, but I've never tasted anything like it in my life!

I had it with ff cottage cheese, so dread to think what it's like without the moisture. Does anyone have any advice for making it taste delicious, and syn free?

Darkesteyes · 16/09/2013 16:43

Fairy another SW member i knew used to put it in Weetabix I wouldnt be able to do that myself without spending all day in the bathroom.

SummerHoliDidi · 16/09/2013 18:50

scan bran is shit isn't it? One of the other members at my group raves about the scan bran "cake" that's on the website. It's not cake! It's not even close to cake! It's better than eating scan bran as a crispbread but so is cardboard tbh.

holidaysarenice · 16/09/2013 19:11

Some people leave it in yoghurt over night, its up thread a little.

I think it makes some kind of pancake mush?!

pinkoneblueone · 16/09/2013 19:28

I have no choice on the cycling tbh we don't have a car and I desperately needed a job and it was the only one I was offered I was good today and turned down a cupcake and am just waiting on our tea in the I've. Colcannon cottage pie out the new recipe book. I'm starving! Had a shared massive bad pud on sat with the hubby so need to be extra good as it was the sharing pud out of Smyth and joneses pub and it was good it was to celebrate my first wage in my job.
