Abby you could do some baking to make sw friendly snacks. The website has some good recipes for low syn cakes and biscuits. Some of them are rank though so choose carefully, maybe just try the ones with the cheapest ingredients. Or a freddo is only 5 syns, they're what I go for when I need a low syn chocolate hit.

SummerHoliDidi · 07/09/2013 18:27

Dammit I found it hard losing the hexs when I stopped bf dd2. It was almost enough for me to want to carry on bf but she was already 2.5 and I couldn't justify going even longer for an extra couple of slices of bread a day. You get used to it, but it IS harder.

damnitdamnit · 07/09/2013 19:21

It's the cheese I'm missing the most Summer trying to stick to halloumi and mozzorella so I can have more but I just love the stuff!

Abby I have just made the chicken liver pâté to try help with the snacking but I tend to use my Hex on rivitas with something. If I can't have white bread with lashings of lurpack I just don't want any!

Popcorn is also good as its popped weight!

I really struggle with the 1/3 of the plate being super free as I don't really like a lot of fruit and vegetables and am limited to only a few things which I often have to hide in meals like you would for children.

Minimammoth · 07/09/2013 20:40

I dream about cheese, I do Grin

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 07/09/2013 21:19

Yy to cheese, pre-SW we treated it like a condiment in this house (which I guess explains why I'm here!).

Does anyone know if you can make a decent rice pudding with skimmed milk? Only ever used semi-skimmed before.

beanandspud · 07/09/2013 21:40

If you need a cheese fix the Laughing Cow light Blue triangles are worth trying. I quite often have them on Ryvita as a snack. Can't remember how many syns but I think you can have 3 or 4 as a Hex.

Fairygen · 08/09/2013 09:08

I don't buy cheese, I can't be trusted!!! Even babybel, I could eat a dozen in a sitting!

SummerHoliDidi · 08/09/2013 10:04

Did you all know that if you have a green day you can have 2 he a and 2 he b, and on a green day cheese can be a b choice as well, so you could have 4 portions of cheese as long as you don't mind not having meat or any other b choices. I do this probably once a week as I quite like vegetarian meals and I do love my cheese.

Me23 · 08/09/2013 10:34

I haven't properly been back on sw yet too many goodies in the house. I will be starting properly on Monday will be making the diet coke quorn chicken!

Re cheese as I only do green days I'm very lucky I can indulge! I always have some mini babybel in the fridge.

Yum freddos only 5 syns that is some dangerous info right there! I bought some Pom bears as some low syn snacks 5 syns a pack or 4.7 to be technical.

I'm out for lunch at frankie and benny today with the family and my dad. I will be having penne arrabiata and no dessert.

For dinner I will have a quorn ham sandwich. So sort of sw friendly. Although we have mars ice cream bars in the fridge and they need to be gone so I don't get tempted so that may be my last treat!

What's everyone else got planned for today?

SummerHoliDidi · 08/09/2013 13:30

I had scrambled egg on toast for breakfast, then I appear to have eaten 2 fairycakes for lunch Blush (only 3.5 syns each but I think I should probably eat something better at some point), and I'm planning on a vegetable risotto for dinner. Maybe I could make today a green day and have a cheese salad sandwich as a late lunch.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/09/2013 13:46

waddles back in - right summer hols are over, so i will try and get my flabby arse back into sw mode again

i know it works, but just havnt been motivated recently, prob since ive come back from holiday and started this thread again Blush

I had a mushroom, ham and spring onion omelet for lunch, with asda fine cut salad and a wholemeal roll for a b choice. Twas very nice.

Fairygen · 08/09/2013 18:46

Breakfast was a fruit salad. Things have gone down hill since then. At my parents I ate 2 fairy cakes and a strawberry shortcake with fresh cream, now I actually feel sick! Dinner was supposed to be SW pizza made with a smash base but cba, so will probably have some fruit and yogurt

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 08/09/2013 19:00

We're doing ok today I think, used a Colman's packet mix to make shepherd's pie and had that with extra veg.

Fairygen · 08/09/2013 19:55

Ended up with staggs vegetable chili (2.5 syns for the whole tin) and some pasta. It was ok, chili tasted a lot like minestrone soup, but might keep a jar in the cupboard for emergencies.

Minimammoth · 08/09/2013 21:54

I blew my syns on Yorkshire pud n gravy today. Still hoping for a loss this week. Morning weigh says ok. But I always weigh more in the evening plus clothes so maybe fooling myself.

anon2013 · 08/09/2013 22:38

I'm normally very good till the weekend then it's the wine! Wine Wine . Why don't they make syn free wine? Smile Hoping for a loss tomorrow.

damnitdamnit · 09/09/2013 09:35

Did really well food wise yesterday wish I could say the same for drink!! Friends came round and one led to two and beyond. I hope I have not ruined all my hard work. Shock

Me23 · 09/09/2013 11:13

Hello everyone I am back on the plan today. Have a wedding reception on 30th November so thatgives me 12weeks to get some weight off. Weighed in at 10st 13 today so if I manage 2lb a week then I could be 24lb lighter by then which would be fantastic.

Ooh have discoved a lovely low syn snack mikado daim biscuits are 1 syn each and yummy.

anon2013 · 09/09/2013 11:37

I'll be adding those to my shopping list! Smile thanks for sharing. I cooked the lasagne that was in the supplement with the latest magazine over the weekend, it's ok but I far prefer the vegetable lasagne that's on the website with courgettes and passata as it has far more flavour. I'm trying to stick to red or green days this week to lose more weight as I tend to have lower losses with extra easy. Anyone else find this?

Fairygen · 09/09/2013 11:51

anon I lose loads of weight on just red days, but they are so boring! I end up craving rubbish and then binge. I've been averaging 1.5 lbs a week on EE. When I do eat rubbish, it's more to do with piggery than craving it.

I love the fact that you can have two hexa on red and green days. I use mine for milk in coffee so rarely have cheese, unless i syn it.

trinitybleu · 09/09/2013 20:14

STS this week which is a miracle considering the BBQ we went to on Saturday! Started off ok but soon nose dived into crisps, hummus, dips, balsamic dressing and sausages.

holidaysarenice · 10/09/2013 02:41

I will go to slimming world this week!! Most likely thursday but I will go.....

And not wear my birthday suit to make up for the wine/cake!!!

Me23 · 10/09/2013 09:45

anon would you mind posting the veg lasagne recipe? Or anyone else who has it.

I made the diet coke quorn last night omg it was yummy! I Have some left over for lunch today.

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 10/09/2013 09:58

Oh no. First week weigh in this morning, no loss, no gain!
