mum, i tend to pick in the middle of the night if I've got to let the dog out. I've started to have 2 weetabix as my hexb, so have one at night ifI need to, and then just one in the morning.

Someone asked about this at group, and the consultant said she could have anything on the free list, even a jacket potato!!!!!

doineedhelp · 03/08/2013 22:01

1.5lbs off today. . So much better than my 0.5lb that I've been stuck at for the last few weeks. I followed red for 6 /7 days and I think that has mad a difference. .. going to do same again this week and keep fingers crossed.

mum I made some syn free salmon pate today, that with some bread / crackers might take the edge off? Blitz 1 tin of salmon with 100g smoked salmon , 200g quark, , lemon juice, dill, parsley and a touch of cayenne pepper, delicious :)

holidaysarenice · 04/08/2013 18:44

thanks guys for all the ideas for coke chicken. sorry it took so long for me to come back!

i ended up making the sticky chicken from the sw recipes....amazing! thick sticky and beautiful! fully recommend it!

tonight im trying to work out what to do with pork mince - i meant to buy beef mince! opps

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/08/2013 20:15

I made 'magic' porridge last night and it was gorgeous!! I tub of muller light yog, I used vanilla, and about an ounce of porridge oats (hex b) mixed, covered and left in the fridge overnight. It plumped up and tasted lovely and creamy.

I'm going to do the same for tomorrow but add an egg in the morning and make it into pancakes.

muminthecity · 05/08/2013 00:23

Thank you Fairy and doineed for the tips. Will definitely try that salmon pate. Please let us know how your pancakes turn out Fairy, perhaps a couple of them made in advance could make a nice late night snack?!

I had nothing but fruit all day today as was saving myself for a BBQ at a friend's tonight. I was good food-wise at the BBQ, had some chicken pieces, salad, rice and a bit of coleslaw. I did drink shitloads a few rum and diet cokes though! Managed to save my HEBs for my late night snack so have just had a cheese and cucumber sandwich (bread-HEB, cheese=HEA.) Nice and filling without much effort required!

Fairygen · 05/08/2013 09:45

Morning all.
After an unbelievably good weekend, I was really looking forward to my pancakes this morning. Well.....I think I need a bit more patience! I piled it all in the pan, hoping to make I big pancake, but it all stuck to the bottom ( non stick pan!) and I ended up with a weird eggy porridge mush!

I know it does work. I'm on a couple of fb slimming world pages, and people have posted photos of them. I'm going to try again tomorrow, maybe making smaller ones and might need to use some syns for oil.

Hope everyone had a good weekend x

SummerHoliDidi · 05/08/2013 18:05

That sounds disappointing fairy. I've never heard of this magic porridge, I might have to try it.

I've had a really good day today. Fruit and mullerlight for breakfast, egg and chips with mushrooms and sweet potato chips for lunch. It was a huge plate full but all free so I don't feel guilty in the slightest for eating it all. Just cooking dinner now, risotto with chicken and bacon and tons of veg. Using hea for the cheese. Then I think I'll have a hifi bar as my heb later on and I've got cherries to munch on as well.

Huffpot · 05/08/2013 18:29

I've heard of the magic porridge but never tried it as I don't like Muller lights but it would probably work with an alternate yoghurt....would be good to have something so quick and easy in the morning for the nursery run I'm so slow in the mornings

Fairygen · 05/08/2013 18:51

All I have left is Turkish delight muller lights, so breakfast should be interesting tomorrow!

I really cba to do the pancakes again, too much hassle/ washing up in the morning.

BethAndHerBrood · 05/08/2013 19:12

I've just been having a 'try on' of some of my clothes. You know, the ones you buy because when you lose a stone, they'll fit. O.M.G. They fit!!!

That may be because i've had a stomach bug this weekend, and haven't eaten since saturday. But look on the bright side!

And where do you buy turkish delight mullerlites? They may tempt me to eat a yoghurt!

Fairygen · 06/08/2013 13:29

beth, you must feel great! I have a couple of things I bought 2 years ago to 'slim into'. I'm hoping it won't be long before I can at least get them over my hips!!!

I buy all my muller lights at morrisons. They have a great selection and they're usually on offer. The Turkish delight ones are delicious and addictive.

I accidentally bought nu me fat free Greek style yoghurt (morrisons) instead of ff natural yogurt. It's 2 syns for a massive tub but so worth it. It's creamier and doesn't have that sour taste that natural yogurt has.

doineed well done on your loss. I swear by red days for Jump starting my weight loss.

BethAndHerBrood · 06/08/2013 16:39

fairygen thanks, yes, i do feel pretty good. Even though there's still quite some way to go!

Will try and get to a morrisons tomorrow to buy some mullerlites. I'm not fussed about yoghurt generally, but they sound delish. Are they free?

Fairygen · 06/08/2013 19:10

The Greek style ones are 1/2 a syn, the cheesecake are 1 syn, the vanilla with black cherry layer are 1.5 syns. All the rest are free, even the ones with chocolate sprinkles!!

I love them but have to be careful, they're still nearly 100 calories even though they're free, so I only have 1 a day.

SummerHoliDidi · 06/08/2013 21:47

I've just had about 6 million syns in the form of a dominos pizza Blush.

I had a lovely healthy dinner planned for tonight but I put my back out this morning when I attempted to do day 3 of 30 day shred. I have managed to just about carry on as normal, just wincing every time I had to move, but the thought of cooking dinner was too much for me and the chinese is closed so domino's won. I'll have to be extra good for the rest of the week.

BethAndHerBrood · 07/08/2013 17:08

I'm drinking Wine

And it's only wednesday. Oh well......

onceipopicantstop · 07/08/2013 20:37

Much more organised and focussed this week, and it has paid off - 5lb off! Finally got my stone award after yoyoing for weeks. And best of all I have a bmi under 30 (just) which means I am no longer 'obese'!! I desperately wanted to get below 30 before my first midwife appt next week as apparently a bmi over 30 can be the cut off for certain things like water births, in some areas.

Hope you're all having a good week Smile

SummerHoliDidi · 07/08/2013 20:44

Well done once!!

My bmi is just under 30 now too. It's 29.8 as from Saturday. I don't think I'm going to do very well this week. I've done reasonably well with my food today, egg and chips for lunch and diet coke chicken for dinner, although I had some malt loaf and chocolate as snacks so have gone up to 15 syns when I was supposed to be sticking to about 5 per day for the rest of the week. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Loolah · 07/08/2013 23:34

After 30 weeks I finally have my 4st sticker and certificate, this is the lightest I've been for over 15 years! I've got the motivation to continue :-)

Fairygen · 08/08/2013 07:51

Well done once and loolah.

The dreaded wi day has arrived again. I know I shouldn't, but had a quick jump on the scales at home and, not as much as I'd hoped, but I've lost.

I've decided to stop obsessing about losing weight quickly. I'm obviously not going to be one of those people who lose 3 or 4lbs every week. What I'm over the moon about is that I've been doing SW for 6 weeks, I haven't put on. In the past i've had a good week followed by a bad week, followed by a good week etc. I love the fact that I can feel full and still lose weight. As long as my weight is heading in the right direction, I'm happy.

It's 21 weeks til Christmas so 1lb a week will be 1.5 stone!!!

IsaacCox · 08/08/2013 07:55

Morning all, sorry still not catched up with all the posts but I promise I will do later! :)

Just popped in to say I've lost 2lb this week :)

IsaacCox · 08/08/2013 07:56

Or is it caught up? Blush

PrincessScrumpy · 08/08/2013 08:55

I'm only on day 3. Please can I join? I lost 3stone 18 months ago (the last of my twin baby weight) but it's creeping up the last 6months so I now have a stone to lose and I'm determined and in the right frame of mind.
I've also started couch to 5k (2 runs so far) and am enjoying it so I'm hoping the two together will get results.
Does anyone else weigh themselves every morning? I know I shouldn't but it almost seems to keep me focused. Real test will be tomorrow night when I'm going fire an Indian with the girls!

higgle · 08/08/2013 10:20

PrincessScrumpy - I only weigh myself on the weigh in morning - I need to be able to brace myself for the formal weigh in later. For me weighing every day would be disasterous, I'd be struggling to stay with the diet for the rest of the week if I'd put any on. I think with SW the whole point is that you trust the eating programme and get on with life, no counting, very little weighing of food and just a new way of eating that hopefully shows on the scales at weigh in each week.

I've been doing SW since Mid March and I'm 2 stone 6 down now, I've lost every week except one ( two lunches out, two working lunches with poor food choices available and 3 days at my mother's, a house full of chocolate)

This week lost 1lb, so only 1 stone 6 left to go now.
B - strawberries and peach with 0% natural yoghurt and tsp muesli
L - Box of green salad, 4 Ryvita, cottage cheese and apple
D - Pasta with pepper and bean sauce, sprinkle of cheese, lots more salad, bowl of melon and peach.

BethAndHerBrood · 08/08/2013 12:59

4.5lb off for me this week. VERY pleased with that.

I also weigh myself at home before i go to get weighed. It does help to be prepared! And i also think that if i can't make it to my WI, then my scales are the same, so can weigh on mine. Does that make sense?!

Bbq tonight, have bought brown bread buns, which actually, me and dh are prefering. We're having cheeseburgers, chicken burgers and monster sized hotdogs. No salad to be seen. It's dd's birthday treat, she has mates round. Omg, 4 14yr old girls. I have some wine left, i think i'll need it!
