Take the victory and run Blondes! Well done!

BethAndHerBrood · 26/07/2013 18:14

We've been to pizza hut today for lunch. I didn't have any pizza!! Shock

I just piled my plate with salady stuff, and had some low fat ceaser dressing. I did have some sunflower seeds on it, which were lovely, but probably high syns. But was surprised how nice it was.

Shall ruin it all by having cheeseburgers for tea (bbq), and then choccie this evening!

Huff, Flowers Brew Wine , i shall be thinking of you. Take care x

doineedhelp · 27/07/2013 17:48

Half a pound off, very slowly does it for me! Giving red ago this wweek so fingers crossed...
B branflakes (heb) milk (hea) frozen berries
L toast, quorn slices and egg, yogurt
D sea bass with large greek salad (feta is another hea)
S banana, plus bottle of wine for later Grin

huff sorry for your loss xx

Fairygen · 27/07/2013 19:38

Can't believe what I'm about to say....

I've had 2 GREEN days!!
I am so anti-carbs, but have unexpectedly been away from home and have no chance to cook properly.I've been living on brown pasta, brown rice and various quorn concoctions.

I'm not too worried about what it might do to my weight loss this week. I should have put on last week and didn't! Tbh I'm not totally hating it, which is a surprise.

huff, thinking of you x

TheDetective · 27/07/2013 20:19

I got 1.5lb off this week despite my total indulgence where we ate ourselves silly for a day! Consultant said I was jammy Grin.

I agree, I expected a gain. I think CC helped me not get that gain.

3lb to go for 2 stone. I don't think I can get it this week, but I'd really like it the week after.

I want to look at doing red/green days. There is no time in the group to find out more about this. What should I do?

Huffpot · 28/07/2013 07:44

Thanks everyone Thanks
Day survived remarkably well - the only bad thing I ate was an icecream while we were out. We ended up in Mcdonalds but I had a saladSmile

Fingers crossed for WI

Fairygen · 28/07/2013 08:21

detective, we've got a lady at group that swears by red and green days. The consultant pointed out that over the whole week it's exactly the same as EE, but just separated into days. She loses 2 or 3 lbs most weeks but when she does EE she only loses 1/2 or 1 lb.Her body must react differently to having it separated.

I'm going to have some red days next week, when I'm back to normal, and see what happens. I'm definitely not eating as much because all the pasta, rice, is really filling.

All the info on the other plans is in the pack in a different booklet, or on line.

muminthecity · 28/07/2013 12:34

Well I managed to be a bit better yesterday, though I still had 16 syns. Been good today so far as well. I've just weighed myself (sorry Blondes, I know I should wait til WI day) and the scales are showing a 1.5lb loss Shock! Surely this can't be right, after a 3 day binge of chips and chocolate? I hope it is though, if I get a loss on Tuesday I'll be over the moon!

TheDetective · 28/07/2013 14:07

Fairy thank you! Will have a look through the pack and read up!

Although currently, I seem to be getting good loses although up and down (weighing every day as I like to see the trends!) the scales are generally moving downwards. I've got another 5 days til WI, and there are 3lb off on the scales this morning. I've triple checked Grin. That means I could have my 2 stone award this week Grin. I'd be overjoyed!

I don't think I'll rock the boat right now if what I am doing is working for me. I do think I was just eating too much for my level of activity.

mum I've had better loses with having a one off 'bad' day Shock. Not sure how that works!

Fairygen · 28/07/2013 19:37

Does anyone know...( using the SW website) if something is free on all plans, does that make it super free??

I used bamboo shoots and water chestnuts tonight. When I checked the website they are free on all plans, so I checked something I know is super free and it just showed as free on all plans.

SummerHoliDidi · 28/07/2013 20:27

Fairy I think they are superfree if they are free on all plans. But I'm not certain, it's just a hunch. You could text/email/call your consultant and find out.

I've had a lovely weekend, with lots of lovely food. I had saved most of my syns for the weekend and by Friday morning had lost 4lbs according to my home scales. I'm not sure what the damage will be after the weekend though, I might have to keep low syn all this week as well. We were away at a hotel and ate out Friday night, then Saturday we were at a wedding and had ice creams (at the park while waiting for photos to be taken), then had buffet food and dessert at the reception. Plus KFC in a motorway services on the way home today Blush. I did resist the hotel cooked breakfasts though.

1stMrsFrugal · 29/07/2013 13:19

Hello, I have been lurking for a while and pretending to do SW, but mostly having 'days off'. Now it's 20 days until my holidays and I'm determined to make a big effort so I can actually squeeze into some summer clothes, so I'd be most grateful if I could join in for a bit of inspriation.
Am doing this on my own as I hate the idea of a class and have previously joined online and got books etc. I only do EE as I can't get my head around Red/Green. Today:
B:fat free fromage frais and a peach; latte (hxa)
L: Chicken salad with homemade dressing (olive oil hxb), potato salad (mayonnaise 5)
S: banana
planning stir fry chicken with rice for dinner (stir fry sauce 2.5)
I like your water drinking tips. My work is much quieter during school holidays and my only exercise is back and forth to the water cooler so it will have a dual purpose!

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/07/2013 15:55

w3ell done detective

and mum - tut tut

welcome 1stmrs

OP posts:
SummerHoliDidi · 29/07/2013 16:10

Well my scales say I'm still 1.5lbs down on last week (although that's 2.5lbs more than I was on Friday morning). I'll try to keep low syn for the rest of the week and hopefully I should get a decent loss on Saturday.

Welcome 1stmrs - I never managed to do it online or by myself. I seem to need someone else to be accountable to, so class seems like the only way I'll do it properly.

BethAndHerBrood · 29/07/2013 17:11

I made pepsi max chicken last night, thought it was really nice. Don't think dh quite agreed, but while i cook, he eats what i make! We had it with roasted veg and bns chips. I'm considering just making the sauce one night, without chicken, and having it with chips. Yum!

We're having pasta quiche, chips and salad/beans tonight. Something all 5 of us will eat.

Have a good week, everyone Grin

TheDetective · 29/07/2013 17:13

Chilli cheese fries for us tonight!

I'm in need of new yummy recipes! Bored of same old...

Anyone recommend anything free or low syn?

Fairygen · 29/07/2013 18:05

I have the same problem, detective. I cook the same things all the time!

TheDetective · 29/07/2013 18:16

Chilli
Salt and pepper chicken
Pepsi max chicken with sweet potato wedges
Baked potatoes veg and chicken
Roast potatoes veg and chicken
Spag bol
Pasta with arrabiata sauce and chicken
SW chips and mushy peas
Sausage (quorn) and mash with veg and gravy
Veggie bean burgers with roast peppers, salad, mozzarella and SW chips
Soup
Chicken stew.

That's about everything really. And I'm sick of chicken! And broke from the flamin' expense of it!

TheDetective · 29/07/2013 18:18

Oh and I forgot chicken fajhita! How could I?! That's my favourite!

I miss stir fry. We tried fanta chicken. It was shit.

I miss saucy stuff. :(

And cheesy stuff!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 29/07/2013 18:30

Hello all - been off thread but on plan and got my 1.5 stone and Club 10 last week.

School hols are not great for me - I'm a teacher and miss the routine of the day. But have been taking the kids swimming and trying to walk as much as possible. Had baked sweet potato with tune for lunch, which was gorgeous and very filling. Not sure about tea - I CBA to make chilli, which was the plan. Might be salmon and salad which is our current standby...

SummerHoliDidi · 29/07/2013 18:56

We all enjoy beef kofta curry. It's really, really yummy.

We also eat a lot of risotto (because it's one of the only things I can cook well)

Curried vegetable lasagne - this was from one of the sw magazines from years ago but it's lovely.
Fry some garlic, ginger and onions. Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and a tsp of curry powder. Then add chopped vegetables of your choice, we usually use sweet potato, peppers, courgettes, mushrooms, carrots, brocolli but I'm sure most things would go in fine. Cover and simmer while you prepare the "white sauce" and grate the cheese.
Take 1 large pot of fat free natural yoghurt (about 500g I think) and whisk in 1 egg. This is the white sauce. Grate 4 hea portions of cheddar or low fat cheddar (or any cheese you like I suppose).
Layer the vegetable mixture with lasagne sheets and the yoghurt mixture, making sure that the last layer is the yoghurt mix and sprinkle the cheese on top. Bake in the oven at about 190 oC for 30-40mins.
Serves 4. 0 syns if cheese is hea.

SummerHoliDidi · 29/07/2013 18:57

What sort of sauces do you miss Detective? Have you looked on the sw site for sw-friendly versions? I love chicken chow mein and have found a recipe for that on the website which is lovely (when dp cooks it, cos it's too much faff for me to bother with)

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/07/2013 20:00

beth, thats one of my fav meals, so simple and bloody yummy over pasta/rice/noodles or even jackets

detective do youlike fish- love salmon and rice

bunch - well done on getting award

summer - white sauce made with yog and egg is rank- its worth using syns imho and the chicken chow mein is like diet coke chicken if you simmer for long enough as i always add beanshoots etc to it - may be worth a try and no real effort, just cook chicken, can of diet coke/pasarta and stock cube and add veg

b banana
l sandwich (b and 6)chicken roll and salad, with toms, cucumber, strawberry/grapes
t spag bol and cherries

SummerHoliDidi · 29/07/2013 20:04

We really like the veg lasagne Blondes. Some of the sw things we've tried have been awful, but that's one we like. It's funny how we all find different things rank, isn't it?
