All good tips. Will try big breakfast and to take SW snacks with me for when temptation gets a bit much.

I've just come to post here for advice about eating out...!

I am really Angry and cross. We've been doing SW for 4 weeks now, and have been 100% the whole time. Me and DP have both lost just over 1 stone and are doing really well.

So this week was the first time we had to eat out. We had deliberately avoided it - it is something we wanted to wait til we had a certain amount of weight off before doing. But DP's sister insisted we go to a wacky warehouse pub for her babys 1st birthday. I checked all the nutritional information before I went. I tried to work out the syns, but you can't as it doesn't give you the portion sizes. I figured no problem, I'll just ask in the pub. But they didn't know/wouldn't tell me. So I ended up with something off the 'under 600 calorie menu' which was a thai green curry. I don't like curry. I didn't want it. But it was the only thing vaguely suitable other than a bowl of vegetables. I couldn't work the syns out so I just ate the chicken pieces after taking most of the sauce off, and the yellow rice which was free. I assumed that was my syns for the day and just didn't have anything else. But so very disappointing spending money on something you don't enjoy, and then can't go home and have something you can enjoy because you are worrying about the syns in it!

Today we were at my mums for dinner. I asked my mum for a few bits of information about the food we were eating, just so I could accurately syn it, but she just acted all vague and wouldn't tell me what I needed to know. I did end up pressing her for the information but she just wouldn't tell me. I got really fed up in the end, as she is the one who has criticised me for years and years telling me I'm fat, I need to lose weight. Then when I do something about it, she won't fecking help me.

Sorry. This has turned out in to a bit of a rant. I'm just :( as I want to be able to eat out, but know what I am having in order to be able to syn it and stay within my allowances.

:(

A lovely breakfast/lunch I've been having is my HEA and HEB as wholemeal bread and cheese, then 2 slices of bacon minus fat, and 2 fried eggs. Make a toastie with the cheese and bacon, and then the eggs as a side to dip my toastie in. Bloody lovely and satisfying!

I weigh in on a Wednesday Smile
Have been back on track this week so hopefully will have lost some of the gain from last week.
Have woken up with a sore throat this morning - does anyone have any low syn/syn free remedies? I know lemsips are 0.5 syns and hot water, lemon and ginger I would normally put honey in...

Its hard Detective when you're out. My friends and I normally take our DC to Wacky once a week and I get the jacket potato with beans and salad and a cup of tea while the others have lattes. Then at least I know I don't need to stress about portion size etc as its free food

Another lovely sunny day here in London Smile

Detective when I go out I have what I want and just get back on it the next day it has never caused me any harm yet in all the time iv been on the diet which was 7th Jan my biggest gain in a week was 1 lb so just have what you like and get back on it but avoid the puddings Grin. You need to still go out and enjoy yourself.

IsaacCox · 27/05/2013 09:32

Like laughalot I have what I want when we go out and go straight back on it. That toastie sounds immense TheDetective :)

I had a cheeky weigh in this morning and I've reached my first target of 7lb by the time we go away for a few days (which isn't until Sunday!) Very happy :) I think it's taken me 2 weeks and 3 days.

I'm being good and having no syns until we go out for dinner tonight then will be 100% tomorrow.

Decided on Pizza Express today - they do a new Superfood salad thing which is less than 300 calories and looks yum.

Just had quorn sausages, spinach and tomatoes for breakfast. And watermelon. Much nicer than cold toast, which was my pre-SW choice!

1lb OFF!! Just 0.5 away from my 2.5 stone award. Bit gutted at missing that but after this weekend I'm over the moon with any loss. DH has gained a pound. He's not happy.

Off to the gym for a 5k walk soon and back to being good until Thursday. Then it's DH's birthday & jollydays.

Day 1 for me today, (weigh-in not till tomorrow) so not 100% sure of starting weight, had breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs, 1/3rd superfree made up of tomatoes, mushrooms and onion. Had fat-free yoghurt as well. My best friend has lost 3½ stone on SW since November so this WOE definitely works:)
Am doing SW online (with my friend as my SW consultantWink)

Thanks Blonde, I have been a member of SW online for a few months now but am only now starting to get my head around it, will stumble through for this week and hopefully get a better handle on it next week. My "a" today is 2 babybel original, my "b" today is 1 Alpen Light cereal bar.

Report
LollipopViolet · 27/05/2013 13:29

Well, today has been OK.

b - well, I didn't have any as I wasn't hungry
l - beef and rice (no fat on the beef)
d - chicken and salad
Snacks - got some blueberries left and will probably also have a yoghurt later :)

Both sets of scales in the house are saying I should get my stone award on Wednesday night, but I've NEVER had a 4.5lb loss so I'm not hopefu haha I think the scales are lying!

Thanks for the eating out tips. Unfortunately for me I'm really fussy with food so it was already a pain eating out.

I didn't eat meat for 15 years. I still only eat chicken, bacon without fat, and ham on the bone. That is it. So I eat a combo of veggie stuff too.

I like baked potatoes - but don't like beans. I don't eat fish. So I have to have butter/marge or cheese :( which you can't get an accurate weight of when out eating to syn it. When we went out last week I did carry some of our own marge in a tub with me. But to be honest I want cheese with it. :(

DP had steak. Grrrr. Easy for him!! I just struggle :(

Congrats on the losses

Ahhh that would be hard detective....I'd eat just about anything hence the reason I'm the size I am!

Ended up at Wagamama, not Pizza Express. I reckon the salmon miso salad, without dressing, must be free - just salmon and veg. I'm counting the sesame seeds as a HE.

I am so fussy Blush. I have to have the cheese melted. I guess most places wouldn't take kindly to melting cheese I've bought with me. Grin

I am so fussy. I try not to be!

If you grate it beforehand then hopefully it would melt on a hot jacket :)

We take a small squeezy bottle of extra light mayo if we're going out for a meal. I look a bit odd getting it out of my handbag but I reckon it's better than syns.

Tonight's tea has been delicious. Chicken breast beaten thin, topped with slice of Leerdammer Light & naice ham, covered in breadcrumbs made from HEB. Served with a jacket potato & asparagus. Mmmmm.

And a curly wurly for a 6 syn pud Smile.

SalaciousCrumb · 27/05/2013 17:37

I like the idea of curly wurly for pudding!

Day 1 for me today. Wi this morning. I have 2 stone 13 lb to lose.

It is 5 weeks until a big birthday for me. I am hoping to lose 12lbs before then.

Hope everyone's having a good bank hol.

Well done on the losses :)

I've just been out for dinner. Had 1 large glass of red wine, chicken breast and salad burger, shared my fries with dh and also shared a raspberry cheesecake too. Didn't really enjoy it at all, much prefer sw food Shock never thought I'd say that!

I've just got back and done 100 reps with the 10kg weights!
