I am dreading weigh in, have had a shocking week.

BUT, I sort of don't care, because I can take off my size 14 jeans without undoing the zip or button, so I feel good :)

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 11/06/2013 21:39

Well done losers!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 11/06/2013 21:58

Succumbed to two cream scones! Had one in cafe and brought one home! Oops!

muminthecity · 11/06/2013 22:05

I lost 4lbs! Got my 2 stone award, my club 10 award and slimmer of the week Grin. I am very happy, and am celebrating with a bag of crisps and a packet of white chocolate buttons Grin.

Curlywurlysareyum · 11/06/2013 22:40

Lost 3.5 - delighted!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2013 22:40

Well done mum and holiday for losses

Decided to make blondes quiche for tomorrow's tea only to find I had no cottage cheese

Popped to sains to buy it and ended up spending £32 and got home and forgot the bloody cottage cheese ffs

Hello again everyone, should have posted Monday to say 1st weigh in was -5lb...so I talked myself into a Macdonalds that evening!(yes i'm all too aware how twattish that was)

I've had 2 completely syn free days so if I'm good tomorrow then I would have compensated for it.

Well done to all the losses, looking forward to the day I can take jeans off without undoing them!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/06/2013 08:32

well done sid and doesnt hurt to have a treat, thats what syns are for :)

Well done to the losers!

WI tonight for me and after my stint on the naughty step am unsure how I'll go

Was up till 1am again doing more work for the accountant so am not anticipating the best day today Sad Still will minimise damage as much as I can!

TheDetective · 12/06/2013 09:51

What are these flexible syns people are talking about please?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/06/2013 10:28

Detective - cons say every now and again. If you have a big night /event that you eat and not count the syns and start afresh next day - rather then think I've eaten/drunk 100 syns therefore I will carry on eating what i like

Flexible syns doesn't work with me. Take my wedding for instance - ate cheese bread and drank gin - lots then had 6 good healthy days but I didn't lose any weight that week

So what's the point? Same when I did ww - allowed 49 bonus pp - but if I ate over 30 of theme I would gain :(

Or that's the way I see it - so don't see how flexible syns work

OP posts:
TheDetective · 12/06/2013 10:31

No, I don't see how they do either?! I'd rather save some syns and use them? So I'm still not going over them for the week? Though I prefer to just use my syns daily tbh.

MrsHelsBels74 · 12/06/2013 10:45

Dreading tomorrow's weigh in. Went on holiday for a week & started off with good intentions but it all went wrong Hmm

Still, onwards & upwards I guess.

beanandspud · 12/06/2013 10:50

Flexible syns - I think the concept is that you think about what you might want to eat/drink before a big night out or event and then set yourself a limit - say, 50 syns. Then you still count everything up to that and then hopefully stop!

So, in theory, you can have a good night out but you don't completely throw in the towel and just keep on eating/drinking.

I guess it's about staying in control.

TheDetective · 12/06/2013 10:52

But if you did that every week, you just wouldn't lose weight, surely? Unless you were very very lucky!!! Grin

melliebobs · 12/06/2013 13:11

The Syn free BBQ marinade is loverly. Me n dd had it on chicken drumsticks with cold pasta salad and Syn free dressing. (yes after much hunting I managed to find ONE that was less than 40kcal per 100ml)

MindfulMe · 12/06/2013 14:58

Losing it with SW now... Except I'm actually NOt! I miscalculated in my conversions and basically in just under a month I have lost 3 pounds and that's all. I'm sticking to it well enough I think. My husband has lost 11 pounds but claims its because he has more to lose. I'm not so sure. I'm feeling awful and really demotivated about it all. I'm not able time-wise to do much exercise. A run a week is about all I manage. I've had full bloods and there is no issue with my thyroid or anything that might explain poor weight loss.
I'm veggie so am doing green days all the time. Most of what I eat is free food! Yet I'm still nt losing much. I've done SW before and it worked but it was over ten years ago. I'm hungry all the time and eating all the time- this is normal for me. I'm not having pasta, I'm filling up on beans, fruit, veg. I have a few syns a day- a couple of the kids' haribo Winkfor example. At the weekend ill have a drink, which is prosecco, I figure that I've saved enough syns for it. Maybe this is my issue?
Please, wise ladies, tell me what to do! I'm 10 stone 11 and 5"6-7.

Daisy1407 · 12/06/2013 15:18

Mindfulme - i can hear your frustration
My favourite drink is Prosecco too ive only been on this diet for 1 weigh in as couldnt go on Monday for 2nd weigh in
I cannot believe the amount of food im eating lots of food loads of pasta and syn free chips is my main food intake
Have you had a chat to your consultant at all? Have they suggested to try anything different?

so annoying when you really try hard and they dont shift!

sending you a good luck hug x

MrsHelsBels74 · 12/06/2013 15:21

My consultant said that if you save up your daily syns for the weekend they can't guarantee weight loss, you need to use them daily & not go over the daily limit. Only been going a few weeks so can't guarantee I've got it right.

Daisy1407 · 12/06/2013 15:23

Also ive been told about a syn free cheesecake!
yep you heard right!

apparently you use your rocky road hi fi bars (HEB) as the base, a tub of Quark with vanilla extract, and a cup of sweetner - ANYONE TRIED THIS?

I need some treats low syns - any tips?

MindfulMe · 12/06/2013 15:33

Thanks Daisy Smile I'm doing it online so it's a bit trickier. Pasta doesn't really agree with me as I have IBS but I'm eating all the time yet still hungry. Maybe I need to switch to g and t. My husband has done that from ale and lost loads...

Daisy1407 · 12/06/2013 15:39

G&T is 4.5 syns is it?
im gonna have to switch to this too x

beanandspud · 12/06/2013 15:43

Mindful I'm not an expert but given your weight and height you are in the 'normal, healthy weight' BMI category rather than being overweight.

it could be that's why your weight loss is a little slower? However an average of a pound a week is still a decent loss.

If you're always hungry could you try having some more protein - beans/lentils/pulses or f/f cottage cheese etc. Do you eat any quorn or tofu as that can be used in loads on recipes.

WheresMyCow · 12/06/2013 15:58

Hello all...have been lurking and not posting for a couple of weeks, but well done to all the losers, everyone is doing fab Grin.

Well, I got my stone award, my club 10 and am just 2lbs away from target now Grin.

B Fruit with fat free natural fromage frais
L Blondes quiche with salad, muller light and a kiwi fruit

Snacks Banana, Apple and half a bar of Dairy Milk (5 syns)

Not sure what tea will be...something with leftover roast pork, still got HeB and half my HeA to use as well.

Good luck to anyone with WI's today.
