Evening - been busy last week and didnt manage to post much. WI today and lost the 2lbs that I put on last week. So still need to lose 2lbs to get my Club 10 and then another 1lb to get my 1.5 stones.

Been put on meds for my diabetes, which should help the weight start moving a bit quicker. At the moment they are making me feel nauseous and the quickness is running to the loo twice today for an urgent visit!! perhaps that is where the weightloss comes from - can hardly eat much and then when I do, it passes through quickly, shall we say! I have to give them about 2 weeks to see if settle down, otherwise will change to another tablet.

Went to the gym today - we have some new outside equipment, so I thought I would try that. Once I got over the feeling of being out in the open and on view to all, it was ok really. Not as good at lifting the heartrate than the equipment inside, but some of the machines use your own body weight for chest press, bicep and tricep, etc so that was a struggle!! Grin

beanandspud · 10/06/2013 23:36

Well done iklboo and keep going gym bunnies! Grin

Made a 'fish pie' frittata tonight - basically put sliced, cooked potatoes, some prawns and some cooked smoked haddock in an ovenproof dish lined with baking paper. Beat together 5 eggs with loads of pepper, some dill and a dash of milk and poured over the fish and potatoes. Bake for about 35mins at 160' until golden and set.

Served with salad it was lovely and there's half left in the fridge to have cold for lunch.

Good day today...

B - fruit, yogurt and an Alpen light bar
L - more fruit and Alpen bar (was travelling). Cold, new, potatoes Blush
D - frittata and salad, more yogurt
Had some more fruit for snacks and an Options hot chocolate [2 syns]

Could really do with a good week after holidays, weekends away etc.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 11/06/2013 09:57

Have literally just fallen off the scales at group today in total shock - 5lbs lost!! That's the first time in my life that I haven't gained weight on holiday, let alone lost it. Can't believe it after the stuff that I ate. Consultant thinks it could be because I walked, cycled, swam with the kids a lot rather than being at a desk at work. Whatever it is I'm not complaining!!!

muminthecity · 11/06/2013 13:00

Littlemouse - 5lbs!! That is amazing, well done! Smile

HulaHooper1 · 11/06/2013 13:06

Dawndonna · 11/06/2013 13:11

Congratulations all, here's to a warm and healthy summer, lots of lovely salads etc.!
I shall be having burgers tonight, with sw chips, roasted peppers and salad. Yum!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 11/06/2013 14:13

Weigh in this morning and lost 2.5lbs. Quite pleased as had some cheesecake with a meal out on sat night.

Attempting to stick to plan 100%.
Had muesli with almond milk for breakfast and lunch was a huge salad with tikka chicken slices and uncle bens rice so all free.

Dinner will be something syn free as well. I'm heading out to meet a friend and will have a scone so keeping syns for that!

After all my purchases last week I haven't read any of them so will do that tonight when hubby at football!

Daisy1407 · 11/06/2013 14:47

melliebobs · 11/06/2013 16:24

Silly question time

On WW u can accumulate points for exercise

What about SW? Can u gain syns? I've just done a walk n burnt 212 kcals. Could I use the rule of thumb that 1syn is about 20kcals so for my walk I could have 10 syns extra? Or am I kidding myself?

beanandspud · 11/06/2013 16:36

Melliebobs I'm pretty sure that unfortunately you can't 'earn' extra syns by exercising on SW. SW does promote regular exercise through 'Body Magic' on the basis that there are loads of health benefits to becoming more active and doing it regularly.

Taking regular exercise probably does help you to lose weight a bit faster and to maintain the loss - it also helps to minimise any damage done on those days where you do go over your syns or simply have a bad weekend!

melliebobs · 11/06/2013 17:00

Ah rubbish! And it's run club tommorow too. Hey ho!

HulaHooper1 · 11/06/2013 18:02

Just scoffed some flapjack without thinking :( ergh. I want to lose this weight so much but keep failing myself!

Blondes I love Toby carvery :)

HolidayArmadillo · 11/06/2013 18:28

Can I join in please? Only started slimming world last week, first weigh in tonight. Very nervous, have stuck to it but still getting my head round it all as have only ever done WW before. Have around 6 stone to lose. Got to start somewhere!

catmadcaz · 11/06/2013 18:52

I have just made the choc all bran cake and it was really good.... and if not using the all bran as hb was 3 syns a square.... and that was using sugar not sweetner.

iklboo · 11/06/2013 19:00

LOVE the SW burgers. We have ours with pastrami, Leerdammer light & an onion ring, American mustard, extra light mayo and SW chips. 2.5 syns for something that tastes amazing & feels really naughty to eat.

Dawndonna · 11/06/2013 19:24

sounds good iklboo. I'm onto pudding now. Frozen mixed fruit (tesco value frozen mix is delicious, melon, and pineapple in the main) with a muller light strawberry greek yoghurt and half a meringue on top. 3 syns and the meringue really gives a huge sugar hit!

HolidayArmadillo · 11/06/2013 19:48

4lb off for my first week. Was hoping for more but it's a good start slimming world bacon double cheeseburger and syn free chips for tea.

Dawndonna · 11/06/2013 20:15

Holiday 4lbs off is good. I think we always hope for more, but forget that 1lb a week for a year is 3 stone 10lbs. That's a fair whack for a bit of considerate eating!

Dawndonna · 11/06/2013 20:16

bloody autocorrect, must turn it off, considered eating

melliebobs · 11/06/2013 20:22

Not a cracking day. Had a whole meal baguette and 1 mini naan with tea. But did exercise and didn't use all the syns from yday

Been mega organised. Made the BBQ marinade and got some chicken drummers that dh has lovingly removed all the skin from, sitting in the fridge marinating overnight Smile

HolidayArmadillo · 11/06/2013 20:33

Dawn you're right, I really hope to get 3lb off next week to get that first half a stone out the way and then 1lb a week after that would be good for me. I really think this is a way of eating I can sustain, it's the first diet I've tried where the stuff I eat the most of (pasta, rice, potatoes, noodles) is encouraged.

beanandspud · 11/06/2013 20:38

Just made quick kedgeree for tea which was surprisingly good. Used cooked, smoked haddock instead of salmon and also added frozen peas. Substitute the butter for fry light and it's free Grin

Well done on the losses everyone!

TheDetective · 11/06/2013 20:48

Holiday I lost 4.5lb in the first week, and was a little gutted as felt I should have lost more. But the next day 3lb just dropped off like that. And by my next weigh in I had lost 6lb, making 10.5 total. Okay, so it has gone much slower since then, but it's coming off!

Not had the greatest day today, am meant to be having 10 superfree and 2 super speed foods a day (consultant asked us all to do it this week). I think I've managed 4 super free. :( Had loads to have in my dinner, but it was horrible, so barely touched it.

B: Banana.
L: SW Tomato and basil soup (small bowl) and some chicken skewers (from chilled section in supermarket).
D: Was supposed to be Veggie sausage casserole (SW recipe) but DP cut all the veg over an inch thick Confused and they hadn't cooked properly no wonder. It had been in the oven 90 minutes and the sauce was watery, and the sausages doubled in size because of the amount of water plus the length of cooking time. Was supposed to be with mash. Ended up having a small bowl of mash with some of the sauce on it. Then made myself a veggie sausage barm with onions. That was all we had in really.

Syns: 2 x Hi life bar, sugar free jelly, kit kat. Plus 2 syns for the marge in the mash.
