Hello, Can I join in please? I joined last week and have 1st weigh in tomorrow evening...gah!!!

I've been alright most of the week but have a birthday bbq to go to today and I just know its going to torment me!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 09/06/2013 11:01

I had the low fat Quorn sausages for breakfast this morning and did some experimental mashing - I reckon they would work as sausage roll filling.

Just sat down for two minutes on exam marking break - cup of tea, total 0% yoghurt and blueberries as a snack. I'm not hungry now, but conditioning makes me want a bloody biscuit!

muminthecity · 09/06/2013 12:27

Welcome Sid Smile. Just try to stick to things like chicken or steak at the barbecue and fill up on salad if you can. Avoid the burgers and the sausages unless they are low fat. It will be hard but you can do it!

I've just done something terrifying - I joined the gym! It was a spur of the moment thing, I was dropping DD off at her rock climbing club and there were signs up for half price gym membership so I thought sod it, I'll do it, and signed up there and then! I will be going for my first workout tomorrow lunchtime, I am scared but excited!

Huffpot · 09/06/2013 14:50

settles ample arse on the step next to Blonde

Welcome sloth

Well done mum...would love to join one but am very limited on what I can do as have got a stupid prolapse
Am planning on finding a swimming pool and going in September when my boys start nursery...2.5 hours of freedom a day! Grin

BethAndHerBrood · 09/06/2013 15:52

mum well done on joining the gym! How brave! Dh has told me, several times, that he's more than happy to pay my gym membership. Thing is, it's a local council leisure centre, really small gym, machines crammed in, it's really dark, it makes me feel claustrophobic. And lots of the mums from the school gates go. I do not want to have to sweat in front of them.

I did start the C25K, but the cold weather brought my asthma on. And now it's too hot! Grin

iklboo · 09/06/2013 16:12

Dreading weigh in tomorrow. Been on our hols and have been very naughty most of the week. Did 5k today at the gym, will do another 5k at 5pm tomorrow just before weigh in. Hopefully that'll sweat off a few ounces! That & back to eating nice & healthily again from today.

Ginger & soy chicken stir fry for tea tonight.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 09/06/2013 17:11

Just back from 2 weeks hol myself. Just preparing a salad but am kidding myself if I think it will do much to wipe out the rubbish I have eaten over the last 2 weeks! Oh well, will find out how much damage was done on Tuesday I guess. Hoping I haven't put on more than 3lb so I still have a stone loss but that might be very wishful thinking!

TheDetective · 09/06/2013 17:22

B:Banana, 2 hard boiled eggs.
L: 2 bowls of SW tomato and basil soup (yeah, I know... but it was SO nice Blush and lots of superfree food in (carrots, red onion, tomatoes, celery).
Snack: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 hi life bar.
D: Veggie bean burger with wholemeal bun and 45 mozzarella (HEA & B) with roasted peppers and salsa. Tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce for a side salad.

Not sure what to use the rest of my syns on. Might not, might just have another hi life bar later. (The bean burger is 3 syns). I need to have some more superfree, will have an apple and banana at some point.

OctopusWrangler · 09/06/2013 17:23

Awful weekend. Going to start fresh tomorrow. Going to have to seriously work if I'm not to gain on Friday.

Right. Dinner is bolognese.. tomorrow we're having meatballs. I want toast:(

laughalot · 09/06/2013 19:32

Detective I started off with big losses my first few weeks then it was 1/2 lb a week and iv lost 2 stone 5 lb keep at it.

SidTheSloth · 09/06/2013 19:42

Oh I posted a big long one and it never worked. Grrr.

I decided not to chance it and took my own syn free potato salad, normal salad and only had a pork/steak thing I could see and avoid the fat on, even swerved the cheesecakes and was feeling very proud of myself...til I ate the chocolate birthday cake... Could be worse tho so will have to be happy with that.

Can I ask or am I being silly.. does anyone who weighs in in the evening try to eat as little as possible during the day?

BethAndHerBrood · 09/06/2013 20:03

This is nothing to do with sw, but i haven't got anyone else to tell, so i'm telling you lot Grin

I'm an auntie! I have a brand new healthy lovely neice. Grin x 1,000,000

I've never had a neice before. Awwwwww

beanandspud · 09/06/2013 20:12

Congratulations Beth - what lovely news! Have a SW Wine to celebrate!

Well done on joining the gym mum - good luck tomorrow.

Had a fairly good day today, barbecue tonight was lots of salad, jersey royals, salmon and prawn skewers so essentially all free. Have had a couple of bits of leftover Easter egg though Blush

Just been reading the July SW magazine and there are some nice recipes. Hoping to try them over the next couple of weeks and report back.

I have a 'fish pie frittata' to make for tomorrow night which sounds yummy.

My middle child is hard work. Bad week at school and home, culminating in referral to local behavioural unit. Just went off completely this weekend. Lunch out yesterday and away to a bbq today. Emotional baggage won through. I'll haul it back. I'll reduce my syns a little and reduce my carbs a bit. Onwards eh?

Here's to a good week.

onceipopicantstop · 09/06/2013 21:58

Hi all sounds like everyone has been enjoying the sunny weather! Have managed to behave myself this weekend despite going to a bbq last night. I took dessert and made dh's favourite - trifle - fresh custard, cream, white chocolate, sponge and fruit - BUT I also made a huge fruit salad! And am very proud to say I didn't touch the trifle!!

My skirt feels looser today so am hoping my good behaviour will continue and will see decent loss on Thursday Smile

So today...
B - porridge made with water (HeB), frozen fruit, fromage frais, syrup (1 syn)
L - pasta, fromage frais, roast vegetables, satsuma, pack of quavers (5 syns I think)
T - bolognese with loads of veggies in, cheesy mash (HeA), peas, fruit salad, large orange

Have eaten loads of fruit today as you can see! As mentioned by others, I am spending a fortune on fruit!

onceipopicantstop · 09/06/2013 22:01

Sorry octopus we cross-posted - I wasn't ignoring your post. Sorry you've had a tough week. Just draw a line under this weekend and start again!

TheDetective · 09/06/2013 22:01

Yes Sid I do, I eat breakfast/brunch, then WI at 5.30 and have tea after. I also go for a long walk in the afternoon to work off the breakfast Grin.

I don't actually have time for lunch though on those days as I have 3 hours of baby groups 11-2 on the same day... which keeps me busy!

I find I can't manage without my syns each day. I don't like to save them. I get a bit raging without a bar of chocolate at the end of the day Blush.

I'm fine in the day... just the evenings, arghhhh!

I've got 3 banked from yesterday and saturday, and today I've had 11.5, so I have some spare if I need them.

TheDetective · 09/06/2013 22:02

Congrats auntie beth!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 09/06/2013 22:03

Was doing Ok but now having a whisky for Iain Banks. 4 Syns.

muminthecity · 09/06/2013 22:13

Thanks everyone for wishing me luck - I will let you know how I get on.

Beth - Congratulations! Thanks That is lovely news, I wish my sister would hurry up and have a baby so that I can be an auntie Grin.

Octopus - Sorry to hear that Sad, I hope things start to look better for you and your middle DC soon.

I am very jealous of all of you who have just had a holiday - I need one badly! No chance of one anytime soon though.

Today I have had:

B - Banana and a satsuma
L - Bacon (no fat) in a wholemeal roll (HExB) with lettuce, tomato and low fat mayo (2 syns) and a satsuma
D - Roast beef, boiled potatoes, carrots, broccoli, peas, cauliflower, gravy (2 syns) and a Yorkshire pudding (3 syns)

I had dinner at my parents' and was very tempted by the lovely desserts but managed to control myself! I had a bowl of strawberries with one (carefully measured) tbsp of ice cream and one (equally carefully measured!) tbsp of chocolate cheesecake. I used the nutritional information on the packets to work out the syns online, the ice cream was only 1 (woohoo!) and the cheesecake was 2.5 (not really worth that for such a tiny amount!)

I felt a bit peckish a few minutes ago so I had half a leftover turkey burger with a pile of salad and a muller light Blush.

MrsFrederickWentworth · 09/06/2013 23:44

Ds and I have just joined this pm. Not got my head round it at all atm.

But will read tomorrow and then the only way is down.

onceipopicantstop · 10/06/2013 07:27

I've noticed a couple of people mention banking syns - and someone in group did as well. When I did weightwatchers a few years ago I could save points up during the week if I wanted, but I didn't think we were supposed to do this with syns?? Can anyone clarify?? (Wasn't brave enough to ask in group!!)

onceipopicantstop · 10/06/2013 07:29

And welcome MrsFrederickWentworth and son! The plan is pretty straight forward once you get into it Smile

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 10/06/2013 07:32

onceipop. I think, strictly speaking, you're not supposed to bank Syns, but someone at my group does this every week and it works, so the consultant is fine about it. You can also do flexible Syns if you have a big day/night out.

Just had my HE for breakfast. Usually a sign of a bad day ahead.
