2lb off today, so 18.5 in 5 weeks. Getting there.

mum* if you really finely mince some onion and sweat it down in a pan with a little frylight then leave it to cool, then combine with turkey breast mince and some tasty herbs (lemon thyme or sage is good, or lemon zest and cracked black pepper) and really mash it together it makes a good free filling for sausage rolls:)

muminthecity · 07/06/2013 22:37

Octopus - Funnily enough I have some turkey mince in the fridge and was considering using it but wasn't sure if it would taste nice. Thanks for the advice though, I will definitely give that a go now! Smile

muminthecity · 07/06/2013 22:37

Oh and congrats on your loss, fantastic!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/06/2013 23:58

Cat welcome - I do ee so can't help you sorry

Detective - fab you lost weight since yesterday - but don't get in the habit of weighing every day

Thanks curly and mum - been so good all week by eating salads every lunchtime

Curly - that's what sw is about - teaching healthy habits - I like low syn crisps like wosit woffles - skips - space invaders - ringos etc

Octopus - well done - I have some chicken mince - made chicken burgers very yummy

HeartOfDixie · 07/06/2013 23:58

Hurrah. I did the journey and didn't succumb to the unhealthy options - thank you for your tips, the ham nibble bits and veggie crudités really worked!

Huffpot · 08/06/2013 09:05

detective well done...I love changing stone brackets
octopus you are doing really well!

Mmm those sausage rolls sound good. They would be good to make and freeze to have emergency snacks when superfree just won't fill the hole

Weather has changed a bit here with a cold wind and a few clouds grrrr

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 08/06/2013 09:07

Mmmm, sausage rolls. If I did that with veggie sausages would it work?

TeaOneSugar · 08/06/2013 11:34

I was just thinking that, would the syn free quorn ones work? Smile

If I could find some anywhere - I can't pass a supermarket at the moment without calling in to check the veggie freezer.

BethAndHerBrood · 08/06/2013 17:17

I find weekends really difficult, anyone else?

Dh is away now, so am going to be really good. Hopefully.

I've made some couscous for tea, will stir peas & sweetcorn through it, and some mayo with chilli sauce in. Have got some king prawns, and am going to make a mahoosive salad. Should be really yummy.

You all seem to be doing so well, i hope i can keep up with you all x

laughalot · 08/06/2013 19:14

Hi everyone

Well done everyone on your weight loss and chins up to those who have put weight on. I have lost 1lb this week so still not in the 11 stone bracket yet Grin hopefully next week. Brings my total loss to 2 stone 5lb.

TheDetective · 08/06/2013 21:32

Tea I checked all them - only Sainsburys had the fat free quorn ones in. They have them online if you did an order? Obviously depends how far away from one you are!

If anyone tries them, let me know! I wouldn't eat meat ones, but would eat veggie ones. Mmmm :)

Anyone seen those muller light chocolate yoghurts? Gutted - 5 syns! Was so hoping they would be the 1.5 my consultant thought they might be! Damn it!

I've been SO good today. We went to the fair and seaside. I managed to resist the chips, donuts, ice creams, sweets, candy floss etc (only because I had no chance of working out the syns!) and sat there eating my apple, banana, and hi life bar. I was feeling very sorry for myself though!

Had a slimming world chips for dinner, with mushy peas from the chippy. Was lovely. Made my day! Also did a tray of roast veg, and had a bowl full so still had my superfree! (They would have been on the same plate but didn't think mushy peas and roast veg went together!)

Anyone else find that they are eating strange combinations of food just to get their superfree in?!

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 08/06/2013 21:48

Just had a mini tub of choc Philly with a pack of mini breadsticks dipped in. I make it about six and a half Syns and it was lovely.

I used to eat a family sized bar of Dairy Milk on a Saturday night.

Slightly scuppered today as we went for a pub lunch - usually have salmon and salad, but no salmon left and the tight gets wouldn't combine the other fish dish with the salad. Ended up with sea bream and veg, but loads of bones in the bream so didn't enjoy it much. BBQ tea and wine, so up at 15 Syns I think.

TeaOneSugar · 08/06/2013 21:53

The Detective Sainsbury's is the only place I've managed to get them, last time they had them in they were on offer so I bought 6 boxes, I'll just have to keep popping in.

TheDetective · 08/06/2013 22:19

They were on offer this week - 3 for £5 I think (don't quote me!!).

muminthecity · 08/06/2013 22:29

I haven't tried quorn sausages so no idea if they would work, sorry!

I've been really good today, especially considering how hard I usually find the weekends. Spent the whole day in the park with DD, brought along a nice healthy picnic and snacked on fruit while DD raided the ice cream van! Grin

I have had:

B - Banana and Muller Light
L - Picnic including big salad, hard boiled eggs, cold boiled new potatoes, homemade low syn sausage rolls, satsumas and grapes
D - Homemade turkey burger in wholemeal roll (HExB) with SW chips and Greek salad (had feta cheese as my HExA)

Just had an evening snack of a Muller light, satsuma and a rocky road Hi-fi bar.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/06/2013 23:41

Dixie - well done - wish I could say the same today :(

Laughlaot - well done on lb loss - you are doing so well. Well done :)

Detective - see that would annoy me - a con giving false info - she should know what the yog was - or said I don't know, let me check - rather then give false info

Mum - good menu for picnic in park. Well done

Beth - I find weekends hard as well - I can be very good mon to thur but weekends struggle at times

But esp today. Friends hen do - so have eaten a 3 course meal (tho small portions) then one several glasses of wine and bubbly and 1/3 bar of chocolate whispers it was a big bar :(

So again if I don't lose next week this is why - one bad day over rules 6 good days it seems with me

Blondes sits on naughty step

OP posts:
TheDetective · 09/06/2013 00:05

She said she thought she had been told it was 1.5, but not to quote her, she would find out. I didn't worry too much, as I won't eat it unless I know for sure Grin.

TheDetective · 09/06/2013 00:08

See I am never bad, and I'm still only losing piddly amounts :( Bah!

I want to have a bad day! But I am too frightened to!

Saying that, when I get this next stone off, I probably will have a day a month of indulgence. Just because I will be happy at that weight, and anything off after that is a bonus :)

I am looking forward to going for a meal out, and having whatever the fuck I like Grin. Chiquitos... that's where you will find me!

TheDetective · 09/06/2013 00:08

And perhaps McDonalds!

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2013 00:58

Detective - you say you lose piddly amounts and wonder why - I still think
Portion size is something to do with it

Yes you eat healthily but huge (to me) portions

What is a piddly amount?

OP posts:
TheDetective · 09/06/2013 01:24

1-2lb. I just lost 4.5 and then 6lb in my first 2 weeks. Was hoping 2lb consistently. But I see others are losing 3-4lb a week. And I read of people having days off or going over syns and they still get losses. And here I am sulkily sticking to plan and get small losses.

I lost more eating shite. Blush I lost 4 stone and was eating fried egg butties for breakfast, mcdonalds, take aways and other shite. I just ate when I really had to though. So yes, my portions were smaller as my appitite was. I would say I enjoyed the diet. But I didn't because I was so unhappy as I'd just become a single parent. So it was the misery diet.

I have appetite suppressants. But don't really want to resort to those. They do work though - for me.

TheDetective · 09/06/2013 01:31

Today I have had:

B: a lie in!
L: 2 400g wholemeal bread toasted with 45g mozzarella (HEA & B) and 2 slices bacon with no fat. 2 fried eggs. Lettuce shredded and cherry tomatoes.
Snack: Apple, banana, hi life bar.
D: SW chips, mushy peas, roasted veg (courgette, tomato, mushroom, peppers).
And a mint Aero I've been covetting all week!

I've been swimming and walking today.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 09/06/2013 02:03

I think 1-2lbs is perfectly acceptable. You could possibly lose more by adjusting your portions though. 6 eggs in an omelette is quite a lot, I'd use 2 at most with a little milk if I wanted a bigger one. I know the plan says unlimited amounts of free and super free but that free food can't be wholly unlimited as you could never lose weight eating loads and loads!

Huffpot · 09/06/2013 07:19

Ate crap for dinner last nightSad
Was just so tired by bedtime my willpower dissolved....scan bran for me today!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2013 09:14

A healthy loss of 1 or 2 lbs a week is good

2 lbs a week is over 7 stone a year !!!!!

Yes I would like to lose 3lbs every week but I'm
More of a lb a week girl. Annoying but it's still a loss

I agree with izzy free foods can be eaten freely but obv to a certain extent or you will gain or lose slowly - said before a 6 egg omelette is a lot for one person

Huff - come and sit on the naughty step with me - shuffles over :)
