Howly · 06/06/2013 17:47

Hello lovely SWers

Like others been lurking for a bit and now plucked up the courage to join in.

I'm a bit of an old hand at SW having originally lost 3st 3lb at the age of 18 (8 years ago) stopped going whilst at uni, put a stone back on but got back on the plan february last year before my wedding and been sort of sticking to it since! I'm 4lb off my comfortable target weight but would like to lost 11lb to be super slim for my hols in August.
Recently been losing focus and finding it difficult to shift, I keep putting it down to the fact I don't have much to lose but I think I am doing a little secret eating!!

I'm getting bored of eating the same things as i'm too busy too lazy to make something else, even my work colleagues take the p**S out of my dry salad leaves! I try to last the whole working without synning at all but then blow out at weekends!

So looking for some inspiration and I hope my knowledge can be of some use!

Lollyheart · 06/06/2013 18:11

Hi all. Welcome to the newbies Grin

Not a great day today

Ate over my syns in Pringles, just couldn't resist .
Ill be extra good all week now.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 06/06/2013 18:14

Got my 1 Stone award last night. It has taken 7 weeks - very chuffed.

Having to force myself not to undo all the good work after a fucking shocker of a day though.

Huffpot · 06/06/2013 20:34

Welcome to all newbies (am on phone as usual so hard to name check!
Well done bunch!

B: 4 ryvita with light philly, ham and tomato and banana
L: Mushrooms, 2 eggs, baked beans and wedges
D: Steak, asparagus, carrots, corn on the cob and mash with onion

TheDetective · 06/06/2013 20:35

Got my 2lb off phew.

Consultant said what I was having was fine. Confused

I'm going to try and reduce it a little. Also she wants us to eat 10 super free foods a day. And 2 super speed foods.

It's not hard to do - just fucking expensive! Arrrrghhhhhhh!

I will be happy with another 2lb off this week.

DP is losing loads. Bastard!

Also, he told me the things we were having for dinner tonight were syn free. I just checked - and they were fecking not. Stupid man Angry. Will never trust him again! I've now had 6 syns, on top of the 5.5 I'd already had. No chocolate bar for me tonight. And boy am I mad about that!!!! Made sure he knows it to!

TheDetective · 06/06/2013 20:40

Today's food was:

B: Pear.
L: 4 eggs, 2 slices of wholemeal bread, banana.
D: Chicken breast with fresh basil and garlic puree. 6 (small - think one potato cut in 4) roast potatoes with rosemary and thyme seasoning. Courgettes, peppers, mushroom.

Snacks: 1 jaffa cake, 1 hi life light bar.

Will have super low fat noodles if I am really really hungry later, and a banana.

onceipopicantstop · 06/06/2013 22:03

Had gained 1lb which I'm very pleased with considering how bad I've been!! So aiming for a loss of 2 this week - then will get my first half stone award!!

muminthecity · 06/06/2013 22:17

Well done Bunch, Detective and onceipop, and hello to all.

Agree that healthy food works out more expensive than junk. I had my weekly shop delivered tonight, it was nearly £100, it was usually £50-£60 before SW. It's only to feed me and DD!

I've been good the past couple of days but I always struggle more at the weekend so will need to be careful as I am desperate for my 2 stone award on Tuesday!

Today I've had:

B - Banana and satsuma
L - Couple of slices of lean roast beef, rice salad and green salad. Tbsp of salad cream (2 syns)
D - Homemade meatballs with spaghetti, tomato sauce and vegetables. Sprinkle of cheese (HExA) and homemade garlic bread, made using a small wholemeal roll (HExB) and 2 tsps of flora light (2 syns)

Had a muller light and a satsuma for pudding. Could have had more syns but dinner was huge and filling so didn't want anything else.

OctopusWrangler · 06/06/2013 22:25

Today I have mostly eaten bananas. And beans on toast. Not my finest hour :o

We're having fish limbs tomorrow if the fishmonger has any pollock in. Yumyum!

Weighing in at about ten in morning. Had a cheddars disaster yesterday so I'm not sure how it will go, but it will all come right:) eventually:)

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/06/2013 23:27

Howly - welcome - kwym about eating same stuff - that's the good things about our thread - we mention recipes we have tried and gives others ideas

Bastards - well done on stone - why a bad day? :(

Detective - bloody men eh and if he is eating same as you and no extra syns then will lose weight quicker as men seem to Angry

My oh eats some meals I cook and then stuffs self with cookies ice cream beer chocolate crisps etc and still loses weight

Once - a lb gain is good of you've been a bad girl - careful or you will pop pmsl

Octopus - good luck with wi

Tomorrow is my d day as well - really hoping for 2lb loss as been so
Bloody good - salads every lunchtime and having a and b

Welcome newbies and well done on all the great losses :)

I've weighed today and have lost the 2lb I put on when we went away :) I'm assuming it's because it was quick to go on- quick to come off?

Yesterday I had:
B- 2 weetabix and skimmed milk (HEA and HEB) 2x clementines
L- broccoli and cheese pasta and sauce made with water and jalapeños and crispy bacon in. 6 syns worth of cheese on top. 4x clementines
D- chicken, bacon, asparagus, onion, butternut squash, pasta and quark which had Stilton marinating in it all day and a little milk to loosen the sauce (1.5 syn?)
2x clementines (I went a bit mad on them yesterday!)
Pomegranate seeds
Freddo (5 syns)
Flump (1.5 syns?)
Banana and custard muller light over a banana and cinnamon. (Only had 1/4 of it)
Then before bed I sneaked in 4 foam shrimps! (2.5 syns?)

I was starving yesterday and could have quite happily eaten dh's massive toblerone he was having! Grr.

Today is:
B- Weetabix and milk
L- I'm thinking a jacket pot with tuna and salad
D- Spicy mince, peppers and onions wrapped in lettuce leaves (like fajitas) with chips
Loads of fruit again

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/06/2013 10:04

Well done Isaac. And yes you seem to love clementines Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/06/2013 10:09

I lost 3lbs :) whoop that's over half of my gain from holiday

Really happy with that as usually a lb girl

Got 7 weeks till my party so if lose a lb a week that would be 10lbs in all and would be happy with that

Oh said my tummy was disappearing - think that was a back handed compliment coz of he was saying I had a big tummy :( which I did :(

Bloody holidays - I just can't be good on them :( cheese and bread and gin are my downfalls :(

OP posts:
IsaacCox · 07/06/2013 12:46

Well done Blondes :)

I decided against a tuna mayo jacket and instead I had a gorgeous mahoosive salad- lettuce, cherry toms, cucumber, grated carrot, pickled onions, pomegranate seeds, sliced green grapes, crispy bacon, boiled eggs, free vinegarette, a tiny bit of salad cream and a bit of mayo (on the eggs). Was devine!

Huffpot · 07/06/2013 14:48

Yay Blonde!

HeartOfDixie · 07/06/2013 14:49

Hi there, advice needed. I am facing my first long drive with no chocoalte and crisps tonight - any suggestions on FREE alternative snacks? THanks

Heart of Dixie

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/06/2013 15:18

Dixie

Carrot celery cucumber sticks

Baby toms

Boiled eggs shelled

Chicken or ham slices

Not quite the same as crisps and chocolate - what I like to nibble on when driving :)

Thanks huff and Isaac :)

Well done Blondes, that's a great loss Grin

catmadcaz · 07/06/2013 18:11

Hi another lurker here hope I can join in.

I have been going to sw for about 4 weeks and have lost 8 1/2 pounds so far.
I seem to do mainly red days with one ha one hb is this correct? As I think I may have read that some people are having 2 h a's and b's?

Hope someone can put me straight.

TheDetective · 07/06/2013 18:53

This morning I felt smaller. Actually smaller. I weighed myself and my jaw hit the floor. 3.5lb off since last night!!!

Overjoyed. It took me to 14lb 13 which is a massive boost when you get to the next stone down IYKWIM. Only 9lb to go to the weight I was at 4 months ago! Then the losing really starts and I will feel much better.

Curlywurlysareyum · 07/06/2013 20:57

Well done blondes you must be chuffed to bits.

detective that's class - u must be delighted

catmad sorry I only do ee so I don't know

heartofdixie can you use any syns?? I don't go anywhere without an alpen light bar at 3.5 syns as if I crave something sweet it keeps me in control

Refused cake today. I can do that now and not think twice about it. Have changed so much since I started sw re my attitude towards food. Enjoyed a small class of cider and 3.5 syn crisps tonight instead. Getting better at thinking like that - using my syns for what I want rather than what others entice me with. Anyone else find that??

Dawndonna · 07/06/2013 21:02

Well done all!

muminthecity · 07/06/2013 21:07

Well done Blondes and Detective, fantastic losses.

I am having a picnic with DD tomorrow so decided to try to make some SW friendly sausage rolls tonight. I used 1.5 large sheets of filo pastry (9 syns) and 3 low fat sausages (3 syns.) Skinned the sausages and added fresh parsley, chives and black pepper to the sausage meat. Folded the pastry over to double it up (used fry light to stick it together), cut into 8 squares. Added a dollop of sausage meat to each square, folded the pastry up and sealed. Baked in the oven at 190 for about 20 minutes. They are bloody lovely! And only 1.5 syns each!

I had a great day at work today, 5 (yes 5, I counted Grin) different people told me I look like I've lost lots of weight which really made my day! It has also spurred me on to be extra good this weekend.
