Hi all, I'm new to this lark but wow how handy is this I love it! Anyway I have also joined sw this week after having another baby number 3, 11 days ago I'm so eager to loose all the extra pounds I can't bear to look at myself so hope no one minds me joining in here? Xx

BethAndHerBrood · 05/06/2013 17:59

Hi all. I've got my weigh in tomorrow morning. I've been dithering as to wether to go or not, but have decided to bite the bullet and go and see what the damage is! Then at least i know where i'm starting from. Again.

Dh is going away on saturday for 3 weeks, and i must admit i find it easier to stick to when he's away. I'm hoping to lose enough while he's away, that he can see a difference when he gets back. Too optimistic?

I am definately going to try the pepsi max chicken, although will use quorn chicken chunks, or whatever they're called. And the tuna fishcakes sound yum, trying those too.

My trouble is i'm just plain greedy Sad Blush

Daisy1407 · 05/06/2013 18:01

What's the frozen pineapple all about? Sounds yummy x

Huffpot · 05/06/2013 20:34

1lb off Smile
Someone brought in fresh pineapple with chilli and a sprinkle of salt on it - definitely different but really really good

OctopusWrangler · 05/06/2013 20:59

Room for another?

I joined up on The 3rd of May and have lost 16.5lb so far. Meetings are on Fridays. I'm doing ok but I have a hell of a lot to lose:)

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/06/2013 21:15

Wonder Woman - welcome and congrats to no 3 - take things easy and don't over do it

Beth - def get weighed or you are only cheating yourself and yes easier when oh/dh is not here

Huff well done

Blondes, it's a drop in the ocean I assure you! I'm currently surfing at just under 21st and my prelim target is 14. I just want a manky pizza. I've promised myself we'll get one for my birthday at the end of summer. I've not put it in the calendar yet but I was tempted:o

Curlywurlysareyum · 05/06/2013 21:42

Haven't been on for a few days and just taken me ages to read all the new posts !! We will be on thread 4 blondes before we know it!!

I put on 2. Got my 1 and a half stone award, club 10 and runner up slimmer of the month all from last week as I hadn't stayed for class. Felt wick then that I put on 2 and didn't deserve the certificates!! Oh well, I've nearly 2 and a half off overall so need to look at the big picture.

Everyone I meet keeps commenting on how I look which is so motivating ... But ... I can't seem to stop wanting to eat!! I've been so strong and had willpower for weeks and this past week I could eat everything in sight!! I need to wise up and reading all your posts inspired me tonight to get stuck in again. Holiday won't be long coming round.

Detective I lost my first stone with ww. It's good and will work but I have to say I love sw much more. It makes u feel much fuller and def works by 'eating yourself slim'

TheDetective · 05/06/2013 22:08

Can I just run my food diary past people on here? I just find it hard to believe I am not eating too much. Confused

Today:

B: 35g porridge, 120ml hazelnut milk.
L: 5 egg omelette with 1 whole yellow pepper, 9 cherry tomatoes, and 6 mushrooms as a filling.
Snacked in the afternoon on 1 pink n white (2.5 syns), and a pear.
D: 1 chicken breast, 8 roast potatoes (done in frylight), large serving spoon full of carrot and swede (with extra light marge - 3 syns) green beans, baby corn, cabbage and 200ml vege gravy (3 syns).
Since then I have had a kit kat (5.5 syns) and a bowl of sugar free jelly (1.5 syns, but I had 2/3 of it for 1 syn).

Yesterday:

B: 2 fried eggs, 2 400g slices of wholemeal bread, 2 grilled tomatoes, 10 grilled mushrooms.
L: Batchelors super low fat noodles, banana.
Snacked on a kit kat (5.5 syns).
D: It was a BBQ - I had 3 low fat quorn sausages (free), 1 chicken breast covered in cajun spices, 5 kebab sticks which was chicken, peppers, mushroom, courgette, tomato, onion. Tried a little pork (made me feel ill!). Salad with balsamic vinegar. I also had 2 crisps out of a bag of walkers, a tiny bite of rocky road cake (so as not to be rude!) and a tiny sip of a barcadi breezer thrust up on me. I reckoned those to be 3 syns.
After I got home I had another kit kat!

So, any opinions?

Curlywurlysareyum · 05/06/2013 22:32

detective my first thought is are you eating one third super free?? There seems to be a lot of meat in ur dinner compared to veg?!?

TheDetective · 05/06/2013 22:47

Looking at my plate - I would say there is more than 1/3 superfree to be honest. My plate is usually piled high with veg. I'd say it is about half and half, except when we have pasta - usually that is with a tomato based sauce, and I have grilled peppers on the side.

Eg, the veg with tea was 2 serving spoons of cabbage, 6 baby corns, approx 15 green beans, and 2 big serving spoons of the carrot and swede.

The day before looked like this: (I've done a diary all week!)

B: Apple, banana, cherries, muller light (vanilla)
L: 2x 400g wholemeal bread, 4 soft boiled eggs, 4 grilled tomatoes.
D: Arrabiatta sauce made from passata, chillis, onion, garlic (all superfree) and pasta. Grilled peppers to go with it.
Snacks of chicken skewers, cucumber & carrot sticks and salsa, syn free pancakes after dinner. Other syns were 2 kit kats Blush again.

It just seems a lot. And actually, this is less than I was eating at the start, my portion sizes are smaller, but still big when I think about it, and read what others are having here. Confused

Curlywurlysareyum · 05/06/2013 23:03

Detective It def sounds like u r sticking to plan 100%

Only thing I can say is I lost my 1 and a half stone in 14 weeks which averages 1.5lbs per week. Maybe u r going to lose smaller amounts like me (I'm def a tortoise). As blondes says over a year that's a lot of weight!

I like free soups for lunch too - I think the weeks I had it mostly for lunch I got 2.5 or 3 off that week

higgle · 05/06/2013 23:08

Lost another 1.5 lb this week, so 22.5 down and 32.5 to go , to be 8st 12 ( I'm only 5'3"). I sometimes feel a bit of illogical jealousy for teh new people who lose 5 or 6lb in their first few weeks. I know this is because they weigh a lot more than me to begin with but it would be so nice to have big losses and not all this fiddling one or two pounds.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/06/2013 23:16

Octopus - and you will deserve every slice of that pizza

Curly - our threads will live on - :( at gain but yay for 1.5stone loss

Detective - written down it does seem a lot - sw does say eat till you are full - and no reason to be hungry

Maybe I'm Not eating enough but I eat till I'm
Full / your menu and portions I couldn't manage

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 05/06/2013 23:17

Well done higgle

TheDetective · 05/06/2013 23:30

I'd also point out that I am sedentary really. Odd bit of walking. Not much.

It's too much isn't it? :(

beanandspud · 05/06/2013 23:54

Have been away for a couple of days but managed to be pretty good apart from some wine and a couple of handfuls of crisps.

Will definitely try the tuna fritters - they sound fab.

beanandspud · 06/06/2013 00:09

TheDetective I don't really have an answer but written down it does seem like fairly large portions. Could you try reducing some of the quantities and replacing with s/f? So, have fewer eggs in the omelette but add some more veg/fruit? Replace a couple of potatoes with veg?

Other thoughts, if you are on maternity leave it could be that your body is naturally taking a bit of time to adjust - don't know how old your LO is but it's possible that your body is clinging on to a bit of baby weight and may do for the first year or so?

Also, having the full 15 syns every day is fine but it doesn't leave you anywhere to go if you have accidentally miscalculated portion sizes or forgotten to record something. Could you try having 10 syns a day and see whether that makes a dfference?

IsaacCox · 06/06/2013 06:59

Hi all I'm back from York with a 2lb gain Shock so now my total is only 3lb! I have Tesco delivering all my sw food today (also, whoever it was that said sw is expensive was right. We now seem to spend around £120/130 a week for just the 2 of us!)

I do the pebbles in a jar thing too but with 1p's instead. Plus I do it for syns. One jar has 105 pennies in at the start of my sw week and then when I have syns I put the pennies into the other jar. These are also on my hearth so I can see them everyday. I find it helps to see how much I've used/got left.

I dh bought myself a bag whilst we were away and I said I can only have it once I've lost a stone! I love it so hopefully it won't be too long until I can use it :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/06/2013 08:02

Isaac - least only a 2lb gain - I gained 5lbs away on holiday

But been soooooo good this week I'm
Hoping for 2lbs loss tomorrow instead of my usual 1lb

Detective - if I have an omelette I make with 3 eggs - and 8 roasties sound a lot - sorry don't mean to criticise - but you do seem to balance it out with veg

Agree also to try eating 10syns so have back up incase go over

Right off to work I go - tummy full of weetabix and banana

I used to say I struggle with eating a and b but had both most days this week so hopefully will lose tomorrow :)

BlueGoddess · 06/06/2013 09:29

I'm happy with weigh in last night - I lost 1/2lb. It's only a little, but better than the gain I thought I may have with the treats I had on holiday! 2 1/2lb to go to target.....

TheDetective · 06/06/2013 09:59

Bean I have tried to reduce portion size but then end up snacking more? It's a vicious circle. Confused Also last week I upped my super free, and reduced my syns to 10 a day (like you said blonde) and had my first gain, of 1lb!!!

At class last week my consultant said (because I couldn't understand why I had gained) to go back to what I was doing before and to have my 15 syns a day. I've done a food diary as she asked so I'll pin her to the wall to get answers! ask her later.

Hopefully 2lb off when I WI tonight.

Oh forgot to add - baby weight - I have none! I didn't gain anything in pregnancy. Not a single pound. I was the same weight before during and straight away after. My 6 week check I was still the same weight. Then at some point between then and 15 weeks I put on 1st 10 Shock Confused.

My body is really odd.

BethAndHerBrood · 06/06/2013 12:13

I am very glad i went to WI, i lost 3/4 lb! Woohoo! So that makes it 10 1/4 lbs in 9 weeks. Which actually, is not bad. Considering.

I've decided we are all having our tea together tonight, which doesn't happen very often during the week. So we are having pasta quiche, sw chips and beans. All free, and the kids love it too. And i only have to cook once. [lazy bitch emoticon]

onceipopicantstop · 06/06/2013 12:43

Well its d-day for me, on the countdown to WI at 730!!! How likely is it that 4 days of being very very good will have cancelled out 2 weeks of being very very bad??! Am hoping I won't have regained all 6lbs as that would be very disheartening!

Good today so far though!
B - Muller light greek style x2 (1syn)
Snack - bowl of cherries, grapes and a satsuma
L - ham, houmous (HeB), pepper, carrot sticks, cherry toms and cucumber

Planning spicy chicken breasts with sw chips and salad for tea - after weigh-in!!
Hope everyone is having a good day! Smile

MrsGrumps · 06/06/2013 13:36

Would you lovely ladies allow me to join you, albeit infrequenlty?

I've been sort of following the SW diet of 15 years ago and only ever do the then Green plan. I've lost 3.5st so far but am struggling to stay commited to it now the weather is so lovely.

Last night, I had Pizza take-away followed by Ben N Jerrys and am feeling very guilty for it :(
