Welcome new people Smile

My theory is bread is that it has sugar in it...I'm think thats it anyhow Grin

onceipopicantstop · 03/06/2013 18:16

If yo-yo dieting was an Olympic sport I'd have a gold medal I think!!
Had a great first couple of weeks and lost 6lbs then socialising has got in the way. First a night away with dh when much alcohol and unhealthy food was consumed, then failed to get back on the wagon for the rest of the week Blush. And now have had a weekend visiting friends and have mainly eaten cake and drunk wine!! So have 3 days until WI - missed WI last week - and am dreading it as I'm worried seeing a massive gain will just make me go off plan again (from experience!!). I have 3 weeks until we go on holiday so would love to lose a bit before then.

But today has been good so far - trying a green day:
B/f: 2 weetabix with skimmed milk (hea and b)
lunch: pasta with tuna (heb), sweetcorn and fromage frais
tea will be cheese (hea) omelette and sw chips with baked beans

snacks - 2 satsumas...so far...Smile

Lollyheart · 03/06/2013 18:32

Omg Pepsi max chicken is delicious Smile

3girls1madboy · 03/06/2013 18:38

Hello new peeps...Grin

1 and a half on today Sad....feeling very deflated, so I've ordered the 30 day shred DVD!!!

DH has told me off for feeling bad about gain, as I've done so well, but I know where I've gone wrong. So 3girls plan this week is to be good, and stick to 10 Syns......no more Pimms Smile

Dawndonna · 03/06/2013 18:44

A not unexpected 2lb gain tonight. But back on track first thing in the morning. Been out and got everything ready.

TheDetective · 03/06/2013 19:16

Anyone else find they are spending an absolute fortune on food?

My shopping bills have rocketed from £100-120 a week to £160 easily. We are spending about £50 on fruit and veg alone - possibly more. £40 on meat. And then the rest of the things we need, eggs, bread, milk, stuff for syns etc.

Confused

Oh well. As long as the weight comes off, right?!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/06/2013 20:02

Huff. You could be right

Onceipop - me too :( I've lost and gained the same 9lbs twice now :(

Lolly - it is isn't it. One of my fav meals

3girls and dawn - gains happen - hopefully next week you will both lose :)

Detective - same here - healthy eating is expensive - fruit and veg from shops even lidl add up - let alone meat which tbh is essential on ee sw

  • people say can shop for £40 and feed a family of four - it's cheap to eat from say Iceland meals for £1 and £2 but many are high in fat and not sw friendly

When I am feeling low I look at my pebble jars - I have two jars, one with a pebble in it for every 1lb loss and the other a pebble for every 1lb to go. It helps me focus on how far I've come Grin

One of the other ladies has all her certificates up on the wall in her kitchen.

BlueGoddess · 03/06/2013 20:13

For those spending a lot on groceries, have you tried the local market stores? Once I became a regular face the prices dropped Wink

EggsMichelle · 03/06/2013 20:22

Hi, I started sw 6wks ago, lost 10lb so far, another stone til target. So far iv just about got my head around EE, not going to attempt green or original I'm too confused!

My goal is to regain pre baby weight by October (big family gathering) then maybe goal for fitting back into my wedding dress (just cause it sounds like a fun goal!)

Hoping to gain lots of hints and tips from you and motivation to not write a whole week off after too much chocolate!

LollipopViolet · 03/06/2013 20:25

Ooops, I lapsed badly today. Out in the heat with a friend, 2 bottles of fizzy drink and 2 scoops of ice cream...

However, the rest of the week, I've barely used any syns, so hopefully it will all balance out come Wednesday.

EggsMichelle · 03/06/2013 20:25

Bluegoddess I love the pebble jar idea, I go through that many jars of gherkins I should be able to do that. And I have my certificate on my fridge!

BlueGoddess · 03/06/2013 20:50

My pebble jar is on the hearth so I see it every day Smile

I was once told a little thing by one of the long term members - your partner gives you a bunch of roses and one dies. What do you do - throw them all alway or throw just one away and enjoy the rest? Think of your week in the same terms

androbbob · 03/06/2013 21:07

As expected a 2lb gain! Oops! I am as bad as blondes and would also be a good competitor against pop for the yoyo diet Olympic Gold Medal! It will change this year though. I am determined to crack this one and for all, if it takes me until Christmas.

Frozen pineapple in freezer for tomorrow - supposed to be like sweets.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/06/2013 21:11

Lol. Join my yoyo gang :)

Frozen pineapple???

Had prawn chilli linguine for dinner

Yummy :)

I'm so cross with myself, completely went off plan all weekend. Remind me of the good reasons we want to loose weight so I can get back on plan? Loving the stones idea too!

muminthecity · 03/06/2013 21:54

I am cooking pepsi max chicken at the moment, planning to have it for dinner tomorrow (I'm working a long shift then have weigh-in tomorrow so won't have time to cook!) I can't wait to taste it, it smells great so far!

Also made a batch of tuna and sweetcorn fritters, from my EE cookbook today. They are delicious and free! I had 3 for lunch with salad, green beans and a hard boiled egg. DD had them for tea, I put hers in a burger bun with salad and mayo, served with vegetable crudites. She loved her 'fish burger' and is already asking when I'm going to make them again.

muminthecity · 03/06/2013 21:56

HeartOfDixie - We all have bad weekends, well I certainly do! But when I look at how far I've come, how much I've lost and how much SW has completely taken over my life, I realise that there's no way I can give up. I have too much invested in it to stop now!

glenthebattleostrich · 04/06/2013 06:12

Thank you to those who gave the pepsi chicken recipe, had it last night with a huge green salad and it was amazing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/06/2013 11:20

Love Pepsi max chicken

Having that tonight

What's the recipe for tuna fritters. Sure I made them ages ago and were yummy

B weetabix and milk and plums - a+b
L egg salad and banana
T diet coke chicken tho with Pepsi max

Hi all, just checking in, haven't had a chance to read back yet but will do:) After doing great for 4 days, true to form I regressed for the next 4 days, bank holiday weekend here, too much vino which led to much bad food. Back on track this morning, weighing in either this evening or tomorrow evening... don't expect to see any loss :(

Huffpot · 04/06/2013 12:26

That chicken is so delicious!

WI tomorrow and although I haven't been bad am kind of dreading it as I am just feeling fat well fatter if that makes sense?

I may buy a battery for my scales this afternoon and weigh myself tomorrow morning to get an idea of what direction its gone in

Off for an afternoon in the park today with the little ones

B: ryvitas with ham, tomato and philly
L: Baked bean curry with rice
D: Chicken drumsticks with salad and SW chips...have cooked them already so will be a nice cool dinner after a warm day

BadRoly · 04/06/2013 13:33

Afternoon Smile

Sorry I have been MIA for so long. Kind of lost my mojo a bit. Anyway, that is past and I am here again, mainly for advice...

Lasagne
Has anyone made it using the website recipe that uses natural yogurt and eggs instead of white sauce? Or can recommend another alternative for the white sauce please and thank you!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/06/2013 14:14

I often make lasagne but I don't use quark -yog - eggs - cottage cheese etc - it's rank and not a yummy sauce

The best way I've found is to use syns and I use a cheese sauce mix - most are around 8syns or less so if make enough for 4 it's 2 syns per portion

I use the milk as my a - or you could syn it if already had a
